I want to play this one day. I've been curious about it ever since hearing the music cameo back in the old Phantasy Star games. "I Just Smile" was given another bit of life through Elly.
My first exposure to Burning Rangers is the Burning Depths race track in Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for Xbox 360.
Saved that to watch later and just forgot! I played this a ton on its day, and back then I had a very hard time understanding not written english, so the japanese version should be plenty playable, the worst that can happen is Chris screaming you are going the wrong way lol but I guess reading the emails gave me plenty of motivation to keep playing. PSO was the clear successor, with the same mechanics of randomizing the stages paths, and making coop online what actually felt like every other NPC was doing their part on the mission, Burning Rangers quests and events have been in every game since, in PSO it was a downloadable quest, the quest giver was named Chris, in PSU was an event that coincided with the fire SEED infection and in pso2 it was an emergency quest that included NPC that needed to be rescued and the fires where extinguished using special water mechguns. Mitsuyoshi even redubed the english cover of the song (guess sega didn't want to pay royalties to the original singer).
BTW you can technically glide stright forever so technically flying, on a jump tap forward and jump constantly and it will keep fliying straight, thou very few areas inspire you to do this, one would be the large corridor that only leads to some rooms in the space station and you fight the robot the first time.

I happened to be born the exact day Burning Rangers released in Japan. Same year too. Shame I only learned of its existence a couple years ago, but glad to share my birthday with such a cool game lol
I have the burning rangers single on vinyl. It’s a remix single of the theme and I smile. The I smile is really good
I've been wanting to play this game for so long. It's really a shame you can't even get just the disc for less than a couple hundred bucks.
That’s why it needs a re-release. Put it on the PS4 or Switch with remastered graphics.
