State of Love and Trust from this MTV Unplugged is Eddie's best vocals by far!!!! Fire!!!!
It's the mother talking to the son, and yes, it is semi-autobiographical. Eddie grew up thinking his stepdad was his real father and his real father was just a friend of the family. He wasn't told the truth until after his real father died. The guitar solos on the album version are even better.
I'd recommend doing the entire Unplugged set list, if you're amenable. "Oceans", "State of Love and Trust", "Jeremy", "Porch" and "Even Flow" are the songs you've not yet covered. Not a disappointing track in the show.

Alice & chains did an awesome unplugged as well. Thats a band you ought to dig into if you haven't.
I saw them at the Finsbury Park Music Festival along with The Cult, Ned's Aromic Dustbin, Redd Kross, L7(All female band), Shudder to Think, and many others. In between songs he said "I want to dedicate this next song to the Drummer of L7 who is late with her period. This next song is Even Flow".

The Ten album is pretty much about Eddie's life, and the album VS has a few about his life like Rearviewmirror, freakin awesome song. PJ is a very long sometimes dark rabbit hole Jeremy is a great suggestion too uncensored video. 😊💓🤘✌️

Yeah, semi-autobiographical lyrics from Eddie: Teen finds out that the guy he believed to be his dad was actually his stepfather ...and that his biological dad is dead. That apparently happened. 😮 (There's also an incestuous bit in the song w/ the mom 😳 that's fiction)
