@@12Monkeysable Honda shadow is getting a lot of love in the comments on my channel recently. I may need to do a video on one of- if I can find one up here! I hardly ever see Hondas where I am, other than gold wings.
@@SeanLarrinaga That sounds like an awesome first bike! I haven’t ridden a Royal Enfield, but they look so cool. One of the most unique looking brands in motorcycling - very classic.
Love your decision tree of why an 883/1200 sporty makes a good beginner bike. I’d throw the Honda 750 shadow to the mix. Light, low, more power than the 883, plenty of aftermarket accessories and upgrades. Add in honda reliability and solid resale. Here in Michigan it’s easier to find a Honda dealer than HD . Not meant as an argument against the iron head, just a counter point. My first bike was a new 1974 Honda MT125 EL Sinore. When I started riding after a 7 yr hiatus I went with a 750 Shadow.
@@119topdawg I love the shadows. They’re great looking bikes. We have the exact opposite problem up here - good luck getting a test ride on a Honda. Not happening from the dealerships. Harley on the other hand is super helpful up here. We have a fantastic HD dealership and the others I’ve visited up here have been equally as good. Shadows look and sound sooooo good. And Honda reliability is second to none. I have a 23 year old Honda car. Engine finally gave out close to 300k miles. We put a new engine in it and we’re ready for another 300k!
@@MOTOBLADE the dealers around OKC only want to talk test rides on demo days. Euro Bikes on the other hand are almost impossible to get out of at least one test ride while there.
@@chrissmith7669 You would never buy a car without a test drive, why do these dealerships feel so entitled any more? You're dumping thousands of dollars on something and you've never ridden it. Seems like the dumbest business practice in the world to me. The Euro Bikes place sounds great! The more test rides/comparisons you can do before making a decision, the happier you will be long-term as a customer. Great for business!
I started with a street Bob and an inherited 883 hugger. Got t boned on the street Bob but still have the gutless wonder for around town. Replaced Bob with the new low rider ST. Wheee haw is that a great highway machine
I love the Low Rider ST. I have a review video of the new model year coming up soon on my channel. Filmed, just gotta edit it. The little 883's are tough little machines. Time will tell, but they feel like they'll last forever!
I opted for a ‘21 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin (900cc). That was my “coming back to motorcycles” after 20 year hiatus. It was IMO… a more balanced motorcycle than the 883/1200 Iron. Plus it sounds heavenly. Thanks in part to the TEC 2>1 exhaust. 👊
@@Skidz75 Triumph makes BEAUTIFUL bikes. I haven’t had the opportunity to ride too many of them, but I did get on a Rocket Triple a year ago. Man that thing was crazy! Glad you’re back into motorcycling brother! Ride safe ✌🏻

This was almost my first bike! But I ended up going with a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Not a bad first bike either honestly!
