You really should go back and get the first two of this trilogy. Losing My Mind and Losing My Life, tell a story of struggle and overcoming addiction, and more. He has come through a lot, and part of his new music shows how much he has grown.

Ronnie's mother was an addict and abandoned the family when he was young. The end of the video is his expression of the fear that his legacy of addiction will be passed on to his daughter. Great reactions! God Bless!

I'm so glad you did this song!! Even if you did it out of order 😂 The trilogy is about Ronnie's internal struggles with himself and his darker and lighter urges. The dark haired him represents what he considers his truer self and the self that has the dark urges. The lighter self is him pulling himself toward the light. They both are ressurected and die throughout the trilogy as each one takes control of his life. He had distinct moments in his life that hauled him out of his depression, or woke him up. So sleep is a consistent motif. Drugs ends with the light in his daughters eyes because she has made him aware of other issues within himself that he needs to fix to be worthy of fatherhood. The crosses behind him as he explains his drive express the fact that he knows that there is light to be found within Christianity, it is just not a place that he has found sufficient inspiration to change himself. My interpretation of the line "The American Dream is a killing machine" is that striving for material success without the foundation of family and the desire to reach true fulfillment breaks people. And it drives them toward drugs and suicide. Not to say that there is anything wrong with the true American Dream, people just have mistaken it with greed. The American Dream is to build stability and fulfillment for oneself and ones family. Whether that family is a chosen family or a family by blood. The part with the chainsaw shows that the drugs empower a demon that allows him to kill any positive part of himself. And he takes the drugs because he hasn't come to terms with his mother. The verse after the confrontation with his mother shows him realizing that death is the only alternative to accepting the past. Sorry for the long post, I spent a couple hours trying to work this song out with my cousin 😅

Corey Taylor is the lead singer of Slipknot, probably the biggest metal band of the last couple of decades. If you ever feel up to it, Slipknot is a very interesting rabbit hole with some deep lyrics to challenge you.

This is part 3 of his trilogy, if you watch them in order you'll understand why his mother's eyes turned black. The trilogy is in this order:
    1. Losing my mind
    2. Losing my life
    3. Drugs

Yes, Losing My Mind is the combative phase of his addiction. He’s not trying to hear it.
During Losing My Life, he’s caught between 2 worlds. In Drugs, he’s dealing with his demons and is trying to kill his old self, but he realizes it will always be present and he has to deal with it day by day.

Also, one reason that I have absolutely stuck to your channel despite being agnostic has so much to do with this song. Everybody is on drugs. Addicted to hate, addicted to the victim mentality, addicted to real drugs, addict to abuse. It’s rare to find a channel where someone will interrupt a message from their view while respecting the method and the views of others. You’re pretty special brother.

Ronnie said this song is about how everyone is addicted for self indulgence. Whether it's food, sex, porn, views on social media, followers, the "American dream" etc. Like it's a drug they're addicted to. Probably not word for word but along the lines of that

Ronnie just makes FIR the best band in the scene rn. I mean it's pretty obvious innit? And as if that wasn't enough, I heard their management is making room for another band that's about to blow up. They had them signed to UNFD and they're releasing a music video on June 7th. They're called October Ends. Gotta be a step ahead and prepare the next big thing after Falling In Reverse cause they've been years in the game

Ok so, the other videos are him fighting with his old self to become who he wants to be. He does overcome the old at the end of the 2nd and you see him wake up at the beginning of this one. The chainsaw is the final death of the old, followed by accepting with the mom and then the grief. Then you see the demons his sweet mom really held. Also notice the two views in the video where it jumps back and forth. I really recommend the whole set to understand.

Would love for you to dive into Corey Taylor’s bands, Slipknot and Stone Sour.
He’s also a very versatile vocalist/musician and both bands are worth diving into.
For Slipknot, starting with Psychosocial would give a good idea of what the band is about.
Stone Sour- Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero (two songs)

I think Ronnie is an example of what we as Christians need to learn to deal with...Jesus came to save the lost! Ronnie has been hurt by the world to the point he has no faith...but he has hope! ( His daughter is his example of unconditional love, that Christ already has given him. But we as Christians need to show him more of Jesus. We as the church is the Light of the world. God is not done with Ronnie. He can turn to Christ up until he draws his last breath! : Thief by Third Day is a great example of this.)
I am a Christian and I also am a huge fan of Falling in Reverse. His talent is an amazing gift, whether he knows it or not. We can't be offended by the lost! We have to love and reach and pray for them!

He went from a mother on drugs, no real upbringing, he went to jail for manslaughter, drug use ( heroin) and being fired by his band....to a wife and a child and a growing career.

Lesli i have to admit that I’m ashamed to say, I didn’t even initially consider this option. I had watched multiple videos of newer releases the past few years that were fantastic, some actually quite moving, never investigating further into his story. Once I thought about it, I didn’t need to know the reasons for his pain, but hoped God could provide some calm, clarity and comfort to his life. (Although I will miss the music 😭)

    • @darla896
      @darla896 2 роки тому +1

I also respected the way he reacted in one of his streaming videos- UA-cam suggested a video where he was watching people reviewing his song. He stumbled across Micheal Knowles (sp?) who was analyzing Zombified from a political perspective. I guess someone in the live chat just kept saying things like “this guys a clown” etc. Ronnie very politely addressed it and said “he’s not lying. I pretty much agree with just about everything he’s saying right now,” or something along those lines. It was just nice to see a someone behave like an adult and not yell or bow down to someone else’s opinion because so, so many people do.

I love your willingness to listen to/examine secular music. But I have to ask...what is your actual response to "if that were true, then we'd all be free"? I respect your recognition of the challenge, but I was hoping for a more detailed/in depth response. Having grown up in a religious household faith has always been an important part of life. But when you see all the cruelty currently taking place in our world, and the social/political corruption taking place in our country, does that mean that the Devil is currently in control? Or that faith is weak? Or that religion itself was simply created to give people a sense of comfort when dealing with death?
Just thoughts my brother. Please keep doing what you're doing. Much love.

"I've come to realy appreciate your videos and your take on things, although I pretty much can't identity to my Christian roots at this point anymore. But you are very empathetic and realy capable of reflecting not just in other people's perspective, but also your own.
Once again I want to recommend the masterpiece that the short film "In Shadow - A Modern Day Odyssey" is. The imagery and messages are so powerful. I believe you could really appreciate it.
