actually King Diamond albums (and his other group Merciful Fate) always do albums with a story through all the songs, so in the concert there's a mix of songs from different albums so the story wouldn't make sense

The fans and the press both said Gene Simmons was out of his mind, that King Diamonds ever-changing makeup was nothing alike as was the stage show. Gene must have felt so stupid. When Gene tried to do the lawsuit about Kings makeup, King was going to change it again anyway, as he has done through the years with Mercyful Fate and King Diamond.
He used to have a human skull "Melissa" which may or may not be the basis of the song Melissa, (depends on who you ask). Andy Larocque is an incredible and one of my favorite guitar players of all. Also noteworthy is one of the greatest drummers of them all, Mikkey Dee, played drums on the Fatal Potrait, Abigail and Them albums.
I believe Mikkey was also hired a a session drummer for "Conspiracy"?

LOL I took my kids to see King Diamond in.. I believe it was 2014 at The Pageant in St Louis. Son woulda been 19 and daughter woulda been 16 at the time. Their first concert. Two hour drive to get there.. totally worth it.

Them, is the story of King's grandma coming home from the asylum. Opening sequence is killer and leads into Welcome Home. Love that album!! It was my introduction to King Diamond in late 80's.

I met king diamond many years ago in a now defunct venue called hammer jacks when he was touring with mercyful fate probably mid 90’s me and my friends snuck back stage and we hung out for awhile then we went out back with snowy Shaw and he hung out with the fans . Fun fact diamond is about 5 foot something and snowy is close to 7 feet tall.

Really underrated and forgotten band I would recommend would be helloween they were definitely following in Iron Maiden’s footsteps but feel a few feet short.

Yes. You really should listen to the entire live from that Fillmore gig. It is phenomenal. I witnesses this live in Espoo, Finland, 2016. One of the best live experiences ever, and I´ve been attending live gigs for almost 35 years now.

Grandma is from the album Them. here's the plot "As the album opens, a young King and his mother and sister are welcoming King's grandmother home from a mental asylum. That night, King investigates strange voices and discovers his grandmother having a tea party seemingly alone, though with the teacups and kettles floating in the air. King is invited into the room, to sit in his grandmother's chair. King is sent back to bed, but only after staring into his grandmother's eyes, whereupon she instructed him to forget what he saw."
In fact, tis the season, the 4th song in the below performance is "halloween"
the attis is no punishment...and the teapot that missy found is what grandma needs along with blood from mother to make tea to visit with dead souls...it is a story that shoulda been a movie...Them is my fave album...album Conspiracy continues this story after king is released from asylum

The Them and Conspiracy albums are the whole part 1 and part 2 of the main story, but there seems to be hints in later songs that the story continues and "Them" continue to plague the house and its future residents
which other songs? to be fair ive never gotten deep into kings catalogue i pretty much stick with abigail them and conspiracy
king diamond has another band called mercyful fate before it was disbanded somewhere in mid 80s and he went on solo after that....but somewhere in early 90s...mercyful fate had a reunion and they recorded a few albums after that....so king diamond is actually quite a bz guy...
His albums are all stories my dad growing always told me he was the stephen king of metal I never understood cuz I was too young but now that I'm older I finally understand what he was saying. My personal favorite is his give me your soul album where my dad likes his older stuff the voodoo album being his favorite.

THEM was my introduction to King Diamond in 1988! I've always admired the musicianship of this band...and King's vocal control is amazing! The album tells a story about ghosts (them) that I always thought would make a great horror film! Love the reaction!

And it's true! Every album is a new story! I remember reading an article in the mid to late 90's where King Diamond was referred to as "The Stephen King of heavy metal"
You want to really get your hair blown back by King Diamond...he did a series of videos doing a story telling of the album THE PUPPET MASTER song by song. It is by far just as incredible as watching a concert. Just him at a table telling the complete story of the album.. A must watch. You will see a true story teller and another side of his talent .

You need to listen the 'THEM' album from start to finish. It's a compete story and it's amazing! THEM was the first King album I was introduced to in the 80s and I have been a HUGE fan ever since. King is a legend!

Not gonna lie. Some reactors have been at it awhile. And I’ve ghosted most. You started popping up recently in the feeds … so either you are doing something right or youtube finally rotated you in . Anyway, I just love seeing music like this get out there. Been listening to king for over 20 years now and still wish more people would. As for the band king diamond… I’m not sure I appreciate the dual guitar work more in any other band. Dunno if anyone remembers the show Storyteller, but king is definitely a story teller. The fun part? The music is so good the story wouldn’t matter, but we get the meat and the potatoes. Oh his Mercyful Fate stuff is fun too.
The storytelling is insane... not sure I’ve ever seen another artist do such an amazing job at concept albums. A lot of lyrics from other bands are deep poetry and amazing from a literary sense but not my cup of tea... King tells his like an Edgar Allen Poe story... also its acted out with props... oh and then theres the band... oh yeah, and him too🤘😎

A Mansion In Darkness is one of his heaviest, but also so catchy. His vocal range on that one is everywhere but so awesome.
Before going solo King Diamond sung for Mercyful Fate definitely another great band to look into.

THEM and CONSPIRACY are one story, this one is the first on THEM Sleepless nights is the first one on CONSPIRACY. Their all stories of varying degrees but those two are the pinnacle in my opinion
Regarding the makeup, if you really look at it, there really is no close similarity. I grew up on Kiss, but Simmons was just crying to get his way.

every album he has is a concept horror story he rights and puts to music(save for Fatal Portrait where not every single song is part of the story). some have sequels others are standalone. abigail has a sequel and the sequel to them which this song is from is called "conspiracy released shortly after Them. such a legend

My man, if you like all these foreign bands, I bet you will dig Opeth. They've been having a more prog metal vibe the last couple albums, but I fell hard for em once I heard Ghost of Perdition. Pretty diverse song, it is kinda long but you might like it.

Actually, it is King cremated alive in his coffin at the end of Conspiracy by his mother, Dr Landau (his psychiatrist) and Reverend Samuel, whom they convinced that King is some sort of demon. Fear not though, as although Kings Mother and psychiatrist do inherit the house “Amon” after Kings untimely demise, King promises to haunt them whenever the dark is near, as he is now one of “Them” and is trapped haunting the “Amon” house.
King Diamond is only half his work, Mercyful Fate is his other band and there's way more incredible music in that discography... 🤘😈
