Just finished making this sauce. I have tried many recipes and this is identical to the real deal from Chicago Illinois. We thank you, my kids and family love it follow it the way he explained, everything will come out perfect.
Tried it just now, it's exactly the same, same texture same taste.. just as sweet.. i also added a few scotch honey whiskey.. and i substituted the cayenne pepper with hot paprika..
That’s great news thank you for the feedback. It’s nice to hear to changed it slightly to suit your tastes! I hope you try some my other recipes and comment on them too!
I tried it today, and ate it with some beef pot roast. It tasted sooooooo good, thank you so much, and I substituted the jack Daniels with Johnny walker as that is what I had
Goes down well at BBQ's, I hope you enjoy it!! I use it all the time no just at BBQ's!! My favourite is on Crispy Chicken and then sprinkle with some sesame seeds. Mmm!
Sorry! Looks like I missed your question! I use it the same day but you can keep it in the fridge for up to 5 days. I have frozen my leftover sauce before and defrosted when I want to use it and was still delicious!
If you follow my recipe it will turn out perfectly, just remember not to let it boil over! Takes a lot of cleaning if you do!! Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
@@SimonsKitchenUK I made the sauce this morning,..it is absolutely delicious,..many thank for sharing yr recipe on here ,...I made it a day early just to see if we liked it, It got a big thumbs up, going to have it with Beef brisket tomorrow

Can you tell me if this sauce is inspired by the bottled Jack Daniel's sauce you find in the supermarkets? Or inspired by the sauce that is from T.G.I. Friday's, because they do not taste similar at all. Thanks!
Hi Gemma! This recipe is based on the TGI Fridays restaurant Jack Daniels Glaze/Sauce where I used to work in the UK. We used to cook this from scratch. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for your comment
I worked in TGI Fridays when they made all their sauces from scratch and this is almost the same recipe we used in the restaurant and I have just adapted it slightly to work in a smaller batch
@@SimonsKitchenUK So I just made this. I have the TGI Fridays sauce that I bought from the restaurant ($25. for a bag). I made your version and warmed up the restaurant version. Other than the heat coming from the Cayenne, I cannot tell the difference between them. I will only add 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne for my next batch. Thank you so very much for this!!!! I will check out your website and subscribe to this channel.
@@sbaker8971 - some of us are too lazy to make our own but good to have this upload because it's fascinating to know how it's made. About how much did TGIF put in the $25 bag? A cup or two?
Simon's Kitchen UK just made it today! Bit too much heat for me so i’ll do half a tsp of tobasco next time 😂 thanks for the recipe though! Saved me baking a whole garlic bulb!
@@tmnorton1703 Thanks for your feedback and I am glad you enjoyed it. If it's too spicy hot for you can just leave out the Tabasco or like you said put half a teaspoon or less. I like a bit of a kick!

Hi! Thanks for sharing
Can I use normal brown sugar instead of dark brown?
Tamta Nearchou Hi. You can but it does taste better with dark brown sugar
also, will using different kinds of whiskey matter? Does it have to be Old 7 black label sour mesh only to bring out the same TGIF glaze taste?
Hi There! I am sorry I missed your comment. Any bourbon whiskey will work too!
Can this be stored in the fridge for days/weeks or must it be used the same day?

Hey Simon, what is "15ml olive oil Jack Daniels Sauce" in the ingredients list?
Sorry that was a typo, just refer to the ingredients in the Description below the video.
Hey Simon! I noticed that some of the Jack Daniels was missing. Know anything about that? 🤓
Well that would be telling!! Lol I make this recipe often that's my excuse!!
Awww shit my life is complete can't wait to try this i Ben buying this sauce from Fridays for some time
Nijea Davis enjoy it’s beautiful!!
I didn't know you could buy this sauce from Fridays .
Diana f The bought sauce from the store is pre made now and not as good as the freshly made one!

Gemma Elstone I like it with chicken especially deep fried with breadcrumbs and then pour this sauce over it and sprinkle with sesame seeds! Yummy!
Simon's Kitchen UK That's my favourite from the restaurant! I'm not an excellent cook but I'd love to try and make it!
You say this is "based on Tgi Friday's sauce" Does that mean it's your own version of their sauce recipe or it's actually their recipe?

Hoping to make this sauce! Any other American's having a hard time telling if he says "15" or "50" minutes?
Hi Kyle, It is 50 minutes! Must be my accent! Lol. If you want, you can print off the recipe on my website at simonskitchen.uk
Lol! I'm English and also wondered.
Thomas Bland You can print off the recipe from my website if you are unsure. I will make sure that on my next videos that I will be clearer
😂
halved in quantity = also known as reduction or reduced in corrected cooking terms....
Thank you!
This sauce is amazing over the mashed potatoes also
Garlic salt or garlic granuals?
I use Garlic Salt as I dont add any additional salt to the recipe but you can use Granules too!

White onion never use red
MrBillyBubz that’s your opinion but not in the original recipe...
Way too runny
MrBillyBubz Strange works for everyone else who has tried it!
