Plug fouling seems to be pretty rare these days, but in this case that plug was really old and rusted. Thanks for the walk through demo, diagnosis is always the challenge.

Rarely see it as well. my critical thinking tells me the coil may be getting close to its end of life cycle after trying to jump that large gap.

My Grandpa always taught me if an engine won't start or runs rough, install new spark plugs and change the oil for good luck.🤣 Hey Will did you get those yoga pants I sent you last week? Comes with the reinforced butt cheek supports and also comes with the 8 individual spark plug pocket holders. Gotta be fashionable bent over that fender!!

Very wise man. 😅 sure did but couldn’t keep the traffic moving outside of the shop. And the cat calls from the ladies we’re getting out of control. Once they started bringing in Teslas for the basic oil service I started feeling guilty, Essentially throwing money at me. Top notch Man

With all due respect can I ask why in your business you allow customer supplied parts? Ever bee burned by the low quality or incorrect parts customers supply? Do u adjust your labor rate to offset the lost profits when then Brin their own parts?

Good question. It’s a gray area I really hate putting people in but some think it’s better to save a few buck upfront without looking at the broader picture or some just can’t afford it at the time. I try to accommodate everyone under certain understandings. If they bring their own parts I’m only covering my lane if something I did was wrong. If the part fails they are paying me again to replace it.. reason being if I buy the parts I will stand behind the entire job because the parts stores help cover my labor in the event a part fails, it’s only a percentage of my time and overhead so yes the parts may be a little higher through me but rest assure I will do everything to satisfy if something goes wrong. It’s convenient and piece of mind. Some are ok taking the risk but the majority of people understand after an explanation.

@@robinsonsauto so when you disassemble and the parts are wrong or don't work what's the process then? And can I assume you're not adjusting your labor rate then? Not meaning to seem judgemental. Have you seen the changing the industry podcast or jaded mechanic podcast on UA-cam? They discuss variables like this. Best thing ever for alot of shops business and tech outlook.

@@jeffcompton6937 Unfortunately has happened to me, I agree with you guys. I need to reevaluate how I go about this. Currently I charge my standard labor rate and and have found time being wasted with some Fitment issues in reference to “cheaper” parts. One hiccup can set you back
