Dave you looked shocked that it was actually good lol. I'll say it would be good with a homemade orange frosting and homemade whipped topping. It seems like it would be just like the dreamsickle ice-cream. Ummm I love those. So delicious. Tyfs God bless you

I'm doing it right..now!! I'm using a swirly gelatin bundt pan, but yeah...I used a box of Betty's French Vanilla cake mix + orange soda. I actually changed up on the soda just a teensy bit & used a wee bit of butter extract, clear vanilla extract & a couple of drops of orange extract then added enough of the orange soda til it was 12 oz (or 1.5 cups) Smells reeeeealy good!

I saw a social post about this the other day and it reminded me of a chocolate Coca-Cola cake my grandma made for my birthday 20-something years ago. Looks like the simple recipe works. I'll have to think of an interesting combo to try; maybe one of our unique local Faygo flavors or Vernor's ginger ale.

Rock n Rye with Cherry Chip cake mix might be elite. It’s supposed to be cherry cream soda so can’t be bad. That or a red pop mixed with strawberry cake mix.

@@lawrence112 Great idea! I picked up a few different mixes and was thinking about doing a chilled Faygo cake with Cool Whip when it gets warmer. My mom used to make a strawberry poke cake using Jello mix, so I might try to combine the two recipes.

I know it is a great cake!! I just wish the camera person had shown some close shots so we could see the texture of the cake. I have thing about the texture of a cake. My grandmother would take cakes to the fair to be judged. The County Extension Office people came to judge. She won quite a few Ribbons over the years. She made a fresh coconut cake, a yellow cake(1234 cake) with chocolate icing cooked, Lady Baltimore cake, caramel icing with 1234 cake, spice cake, marble cake, etc. My grandmother was quite a cook and a wonderful grandmother and friend. ❤️🙏😇❤️Thanks!!

If we all practiced what nutritionist Adelle Davis preached.
Keep your oil in the fridge, at all times. Refrigerate before opening, don't allow to warm to room temp, dispose of if old.
I haven't determined why everyone says olive oil is the exception regarding refridgeration, but she doesn't mention it at all.
