Beautiful knife. I have the older Dokka. This one looks like the scales would be easier to replace if something were to happen to them. They make amazingly sharp, beautiful knives. I know you’re going to love yours as much as I do mine.
Well. As a Norwegian I feel safe to say that no one, that matters, cares if you don't say the Norwegian name "properly". WE are ower the moon that some Norwegian products finds their way across the border. I have several of these, and love them. I there is one called "Skog" which is excellent for finer witteling work. And the fatwood. We try to find some every spring, clean them up and take into the cabin. Smell's amazing!
Nice video.. I like the fact that you have something special to remind you of your lovely grandma. I own a few knives but not a Helle, my best knife is a Lionsteel M4, it has the green micarta knife scale and an m390 steel, which holds a fantastic edge. Anyway I won’t ramble on about my knive, it’s nice to see you in your element in the woods having a burn up and a nice pot of coffee, wish I was there with ya. I look forward to your next great video keep up the good work.👍
Hi mate, thank you for this video! I’m trying to get into bushcraft but it’s confusing on where I can do this. Do you just find forests and avoid people?
@@jamesjames77777 if you're in the uk. I would start off small. Go to a local woods you know well and spend some time outdoors. Don't buy or bring loads of gear, just enjoy your time in the woods. Then as time goes on you may want to invest in some tools and find a more secluded spot to try some outdoor cooking or wild camping if you're into that sort of thing.
@ really appreciate the response, thank you! I spent my youth in the woods, we never went to pubs, we just stayed around Surrey and built fires and made rudimentary shelters, a little bit in Scotland too. Always incredibly respectful and always left where we stayed as we found it. This was 20 years ago and I’m now 40 and UA-cam exists : ) I work in London in a manic job and I adore the wilderness and being alone. Videos like yours are like therapy and the idea of working responsibly with the land makes my brain feel better. But my older head is worried now because rules and regulations have become stringent and I want to do things right. Thanks for your advice though, I’ll start like that in the areas we used to go to. All the best
5k views, 660 subs. This is the problem with youtube. Subbing is just dumb. I've subbed to over 5000 channels, and it makes no difference to me. If I want to see more of their content I hit the bell and occasionally youtube works and tells me when they've uploaded. But youtube pay walls youtubers based on sub counts and watch time. Nuts.
I don't really get it either. I see some channels with only 3 videos and about 3000 subs and others with 500 videos and only 50 subs. Thanks for watching, and keep up the good work.
That could be the case if it was dry, windy and i had an open fire. But as with most responsible bushcrafters we take care when using fire. Thanks for your concern.
A very nice folder.
@@bosse641 it's a great knife. Got good weight for most camp tasks.

When we used to listen to Stephen lynch, the song "whittling man" has obviously really stuck with you

Nice video. Well presented. Something to remember your late Grandma by and maybe you could pass it down to the next generation 🙏🔪
