  • Co-pilot Graeme Ferguson gets the biggest opportunity of his short career when Buffalo needs to train a second Electra crew. But none of Buffalo’s piston-pounders have prepared him for a plane this big and this fast. When Graeme fumbles a landing, he has to prove he’s ready for his big chance after all. Meanwhile, Chris Staples gets to take the test he’s been dreaming about - to qualify as a co-pilot in the C-46. But he’ll have to take it with one of the toughest captains on the crew. When the C-46 breaks down in Deline, Adam Smith rushes to the rescue and Chris might finally get his chance to shine.

Some of this stuff is wildly dramatized, however the one pilot that thinks he is somehow way better than every other pilot is spot on!

    Thank you for the video!
It was awesome to see this side of life.
I like Graham, you can tell right away he is a good and hard working man.
He said," I don't like to make excuses "
This world can use a few more men like Graham

Graham is great, but I wonder what kind of FTL they have up there. I don't know the sched, but having a guy working on the gnd since 3am and still has to fly an aicraft later on...can't really see how that goes for legality...

It’s a shame how my generation has done away with the respect of calling someone “sir”. You’re his superior and he’s simply trying to offer you that respect. Don’t shoot it down.

What was it about TXW and engines? Like that bird in particular was a freaking engine eater!

A lot of people might think their mentors , their teachers are too hard on them , well these guys don;t get many second chances that are meaningful enough.

My Nephew is a Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Pilot for the company he works for and Chris Staples would have never flown with his company. A cocky pilot is a dangerous pilot. Chris really thinks he knows more than the experienced pilots.

Here in OZ, CASA would not have progressed him. It's one of their inspectors in the jump seat, not a pilot from the same airline. Here you have to put in 5 years to get a type clearance.

I always maintain that no matter how good I flew, I always looked for cues on what I could do to improve. Attitude should only apply with the aircraft, not the pilot. There’s no such thing as an overconfident pilot, confidence has to be supported by ability. Cocky pilots usually try to disguise their inability to perform by attempting to convince themselves of imaginary ability. As an instructor, I sometimes was tasked with teaching humility in the cockpit. I would rather have someone admit they don’t know in order for them to learn.

I don't think Chris was in the right mindset to fly the C-46. He was way too 'cocky' when it comes to what he can fly, and his wording in important situations weren't right. He cant know it all as a beginner to this aircraft, thats challenging as it is.

Its is cringe worthy when a person touts their own skills..that one pilot needs to be learn to be humble, shut up and just fly the damn plane well and safely.

I agree. A cocky pilot is a dangerous pilot.

Being an asshole to your trainee only makes you a poor flight instructor. The trainee looses confidence and begins to second guess everything he is doing which ain't good. 07:55 this guy clearly hates to be a flight instructor, 20:15 this one is just too cocky, 35:00 this pilot is a good flight instructor.
