Since Illia joined the UFC in late 2020 he's fought and won 6 fights in a row while Ortega has only fought 3 times and lost twice. 6 wins vs. 1 in like 3 years.
Ilia's resume' is underwhelming tho.
Ortega been in some wars and tore his shoulder. Needed surgery and recovery. Hope he stays active now

A better question is why is he still in the UFC? Let alone ranked im the top 5... he loses more than wins and only fights every 12 years, yet somehow always 1 fight away from a title shot. I'd say he's the holly holm of Featherweight but at least Holly fights more often despite being like 60 years old.

Fighters take massive leaps and jump the rankings, gets a title shot, and others are literally top 5 and don't get shit. Look at Belal right now, he should've been next for the WW strap, not Colby, and Belal vs Leon STILL hasn't been made official even though the dude hasn't lost in his last 9 fights.
