I appreciate the review. I personally don't want to purchase equipment manufactured in China, but it's hard to find anything not made in China anymore. Many of these companies claim to be US companies but are manufacturing their components in China or somewhere in Asia, and then shipping them back to another country final assembly (not necessarily to the US) so they can hide China's involvement.
Thank you for this video. I just bought an ATEM mini pro to use my Canon 90D for streaming live makeup tutorials. I just watched a video showing me how to use it and he suggested a switch to connect my computer to the ATEM Mini Pro. I noticed the last switch was suggested for streaming. Do you think this would be the best for me? The quality and clarity of my streaming is the most important thing to me. Thank you for your time.
That would be a great choice for streaming or gaming. Check out my product links in the description for the latest deals. It might be on sale this weekend. Good luck Julie and keep me posted. Thank you for watching.
What's the best 5 port plug and play switch? My ISP thing only has one ethernet port. And I need to connect two different wifi routers to it and want to just plug and play. I see some of the TP Links have shielded ports, which I do have metal ethernet cables. My max speed is 300Mbps. I did see TP Link says they just came out with a new plastic one.
If you want 2 routers in one network then follow these steps in this video. ua-cam.com/video/SAHkzgXlAW0/v-deo.htmlsi=YRHLlnuUJo4A5svY Remember you can't plug your switch into your ISP modem and then plug in multiple routers into the switch. It won't work but this video should help you get it set up. As far as the best switch I would choose the TRENDnet 8-Port Gigabit Long Range Poe+ Switch amzn.to/4eotLnd Good luck and keep me posted.
In terms of performance( running switch off of router to run to multiple rooms) is there a difference between the higher priced options? Like am I going to be screwing my self by getting a 20$ one over a 80$?
Nope, the only differences are the ethernet port max speeds and some management options. I still use the cheap $20 TP-Link switch in my main living room. Thanks for watching!
@@UltimateTechHub Some of the 12, 16, and 24 port switches I have been looking at, include total data movement capabilities simultaneously for the whole switch. I was hoping your video had some of these types of details. Let's say you have (4) 4k Tvs streaming content, as well as several pc's playing a live service game like Guild Wars 2: -Which 12 or 16 or 24 port would offer the highest simultaneous throughput? Netgear, TP Link, Trendnet, Linksys, other? Our fiber connection is a 1gbps up and down. Sometimes I do log out of my downstairs gaming pc and log in on my upstairs gaming pc. Sometimes I have to install the same new game I installed downstairs, upstairs. Steam allows me to pull the game from my other pc which does hit my 1gbps upper limit on my switches. I am curious if a higher tier switch would make any difference. I am using Netgear 8 port switches all over my house. At the Netgear main Orbi router I have a connection to a (8) port Netgear fanless switch. From the (8) port netgear switch I have feeds to several locations upstairs and downstairs. At each location I have another (8) port Netgear switch. The system works flawlessly, but I would like a bigger switch at the main Netgear Orbi router to simplify the wiring. I have more then (8) RJ45 Ethernet connections atm: (7) go into the Netgear switch, (2) go into the Netgear Orbi main router. Anyway, thanks for any insight you might offer.
The SG1008 is rack mountable but really they are all gigabit switches. And they have the same features. The SG108 works just fine and costs less ( I have several of them ). Also has a smaller foot print. If you have a rack system then go with the SG1008.
Does a 1Gig port only push out 1Gig speeds? Or can it push out 2,5 and 8Gig speeds if I have those plans from my ISP? I have an 8Gig plan and not sure if the 1Gig ports can push out 8Gig or do I need to get a switch that has a different port? Sorry I don’t know much about routers and switches and things like that. I hope you can understand my question clearly.
didnt really spend time describing why your home $180 switch cost so much more than the first mentioned $20. You said what they included but not the importance really, or the difference someone would notice
Yes it's possible they could get banned. We contacted TP-Link directly and we are waiting for a statement from them. We will make a video next week on the possible ban and I will read TP-Links statement on that video. I will also explain what the vulnerability is and how to avoid it.
@@UltimateTechHub Well for the record. The last option is about good as it gets for fiber over 1gb. For just a switch. Least if you want it to work in the future. Plenty of 2.5gb switch options for under 80bucks. I took the dlink at 189bucks since it has 1 10-gb port. But knowing me with trying to predict an upgrade path, I'll just have wasted my current money. Then buy something else in the future for said upgrade.
Awesome video, Vegas Mike !!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Another nice video 😀
Most underrated channel out there

Best one for starlink? Got a pc & ps5 I want Ethernet for
Any of these switches will work perfectly with Starlink!

1gig port is max speeds. You will need a 10gig port for 8gig plan.
@@UltimateTechHub oh ok I see. And for some reason my Ethernet speed is slower than my WiFi speed
Why buy Chinese PLA switch?
Because most switches are made in China.

$180 switch has managed options like, vlans, security protocols, port isolation and much more. $20 switch is just plug and go, no managed options.
Product links will be in the description below 😂

Its 2024... You only have 1 switch on here that goes past 1gb.... Thats not very 2024 of you. My ISP offers 5gb internet.
@krich106 i don't have a an ISP that offers over 1gig.
