If you cost the Fish with thin down R.T.V Silicone. The regular cheap stuff not gloss With WD40 Or Mineral Spirits And wipe on the Fish finish paint Job with a Q -Tip It gives the skin an Organic look
Another magnificent build, Phil; I'm sure your client was happy (he certainly should have been). Can't wait for your Cyclops/Sinbad build. And you're right, of course, to emphasise the importance of dry-brushing (a technique which, I will admit, I seldom use). I have just one question for you: do you spray coat the finished model with, say, Testors' Lacquer? Thanks!
Thanks so much!! Yes, but I use a generic flat spray from Hobby Lobby. Dull Cote has just gotten way too expensive for me these days! It's up to over $8.00 a can! Next video, I'll include a shout out about what I now use.
Turn out very nice but could have been so much better if your client had not had these ridiculous requests of disassembly. When I do commision work it's my or I don't do it. I really hate it when a client starts off with can't you just...
Well, that decision was a mutual one. I often either build or make the model so it can be disassembled for shipping. It's way safer that way. Most clients have no problem re-assembling the model once they get it. As a matter of fact, they prefer them that way, due to the possible shipping mishaps. It really works well for me and my clients. I get very few special requests as to color, etc. Most clients give me freedom over all of that.
Nice kit, and excellent paint job.
You make dry brushing look so simple. I think i just make it too complicated. Thanks for walking us through the process.
Awesome work my friend 💯👍
Looking good Phil! As usual!
