  • In this video, we explore the exciting world of laser engraving and cutting on Easter eggs with Trotec laser technology. We begin by demonstrating the preparation process, including the use of wax pellets to stabilize the eggshells during laser processing. We then use different types of eggs, such as ostrich eggs, brown eggs, white eggs, and colored eggs, to showcase the results of different engraving and cutting techniques.
We use a rotary attachment and a two-and-a-half-inch lens to engrave the surface of our eggs cleanly while clearing the cones of the rotary. The engraving process on brown eggs gives a super clean and high contrast result, while the same parameter settings on white eggshells result in a somewhat brownish marking. We even try to engrave a white egg that has been dyed blue, which results in a wet engraving effect due to the abrasion of the laser removing the layer of dye on the shell's surface.
We then take things a step further by engraving an ostrich egg with double the DPI and a four-inch lens to achieve a stunning, almost silver effect. We also explore the possibility of cutting eggshells using a speedy 360 80-watt laser running at 15 percent power and two percent speed. While the initial results are decent, we discover that using the wax-filled eggs might melt the wax due to the added heat.
We experiment with different cutting techniques, including using a speedy 400 120-watt laser and removing the rotary attachment, to achieve higher detailed cuts and polished vinyl designs. We even fill the eggs with wax, let it solidify, and then cut it with a little less power and an additional pass to create intricate designs with great overall stability.
Throughout the video, we share tips and tricks for optimizing laser engraving and cutting on Easter eggs, including adjusting the zed height, using the appropriate lens, and experimenting with different power and speed settings. We also showcase some beautiful examples of laser-engraved Easter eggs and how to decorate them further using metallic spray paint.
If you're interested in the world of laser engraving and cutting, or just want some inspiration for your Easter decorations, this video is for you. With Trotec laser technology and our expert tips and tricks, you'll be creating beautiful, unique Easter eggs in no time.
