No teacher giving instruction in any school, or on any property belonging to any agencies included in the public school system, shall advocate or teach communism with the intent to indoctrinate or to inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism.
In prohibiting the advocacy or teaching of communism with the intent of indoctrinating or inculcating a preference in the mind of any pupil for such doctrine, the Legislature does not intend to prevent the teaching of the facts about communism. Rather, the Legislature intends to prevent the advocacy of, or inculcation and indoctrination into, communism as is hereinafter defined, for the purpose of undermining patriotism for, and the belief in, the government of the United States and of this state.
For the purposes of this section, communism is a political theory that the presently existing form of government of the United States or of this state should be changed, by force, violence, or other unconstitutional means, to a totalitarian dictatorship which is based on the principles of communism as expounded by Marx, Lenin, and Stalin.

Ban mandatory school. Have $15000 per year vouchers for kids for private or home school. Change the education system so it teaches individualized job skills for the job the kid wants instead of usless info. Dont require people learn info that is irrelevant to the job they want in order to get that job. End hsd and ged requirements. End gov mandated curriculums. End public schools. End one size fits all education.

I can see how the board member got to the word 'generalizations' in their own head, but that was based on her subjective interpretation. The mother was not being general at all, but giving specific examples made public by the people she was naming themselves, and not even alluding to any others doing what she is fighting against. Sure, we can assume there are others, but that is just that - an assumption! That specific instance was a failure of communication due to the poor interpretation of the recipient. Unfortunately we cannot all come back with the best responses in the moment when on the spot and the mother just ignored that chance to clarify her specificity of particular people against the board member. We are all watching a video and have more time to think about and respond to things than she had. :\
On a side note, language matters - there was no 'they' in this video that I noticed. It was one woman on the board responding to another woman. We gained no audial input on the feelings/thoughts/beliefs of anyone else on that board. Albeit them all wearing masks makes that harder to determine, as well as the camera cuts/edits. There was on member basically staring at the board woman the entire video, and the man between those two casting furtive glances at the member. That is not a unified board, by any means. Yet it seems like as soon as the mother named the first name, the one staring started waving "cut her off" and said "That should be it". So where does he stand? I dunno, but it's a reversal of the body language I'd seen up til then. The mother responds well enough to the threat of being cut off, pressing on. Yay for her! And the leader of the board doesn't immediately act on that, so is she really 100% behind opposing the mother? Does she want the mother to go on, or is she just nervous and unsure? I cannot tell. But I think that's what these kinds of meetings are for. More people need to participate in the mother's role even if we aren't as good as her at making a statement. Every little bit helps (and yes, I did go to these for my nieces - I don't have kids myself).
I'm not trying to be an asshole, but maybe some of those people opposed her (one can hope) but cannot publicly speak out for losing what position they have to influence change for the better (at least in our views) where they can when not in public. Human interaction is very complicated. A lot happens in this video that is not represented by the audio alone. The board leader has a set of rules she has to enforce, which she is being told by another board member she now needs to do. So who stands where? I wish I knew. We can all only do our best to represent what we think to as many others as we can, publicly, so when they have to make decisions behind closed doors, what we say stands out in all of their minds.
Simple, straightforward confrontations are why we still have weapons (in my opinion!) - for when communication fails, for whatever reason. Not everyone is articulate nor charismatic enough to resolve things without resorting to other methods. I know I am not, as well, but I try my best. Communication is hard!

Pretty funny of the school board, wincing when she held up the written proof of their curriculum and policies in her hands, wincing whenever she brought up specific names, even though those individuals had signed their names to the written proof that they had published and handed out to the teachers and students. She's wrong to name them even after they've voluntarily named themselves? What this school board really wanted was for no one to hear what she had to say. Sure, they offered to talk with her in a private office off the record, anything to prevent the public and the parents from hearing her.
We need more people like this amazing woman to serve on school boards.

@@petrokrasnov2967 My children are grown otherwise I would. I also no longer live in an area where this is happening. I think parents of school age children are ideal. Unfortunately it's often difficult to get people to volunteer, which is why "we" find ourselves in this mess.

By not allowing the parents of the school district to use the names of the people they are talking about at a public meeting, they are limiting the parents (as a class of people) ability to effectively discuss in a public form the matters that they want to discuss, and thus reducing their ability to hold anyone accountable for what they are doing. It also reduces the ability of any misplaced grievances the parents might have to be properly addressed. The meeting suggested by the board member is a way to avoid dealing with the issue and an attempt to switch to a terrain more advantageous to the board member. A public hearing with a sympathetic crowd serves the angry mother. This kind of manipulating public forums is discussed in the intro to one of Augusto Boal's books where he talks about how a mayor in a town in Sicily tried to commandeer a forum where the towns people were airing their grievances. It is to be expected that those in power will try to control events like that when they are not going the way they want.
As for your idea that CRT is on par with Evolution, well that's just ridiculous. It is not a theory that developed in the social sciences, you are just wrong about that. It's not a theory as far as I can tell but a set of assumptions and "lens" through which one might view events or interactions. If it works for you, great. IT sounds paranoid and insane to me. It developed out of the work of legal theorists, and as a result ends up far from any kind of theory that attempts to explain and predict real-world phenomena. CRT is a shifting of blame where the problems of racial divisions, which were created by the ruling class to divide the working class, are shifted down to the general population who had no power over any of it and mostly live pay check to pay check. No wonder corporations pay Robin De Angelo big money to come in and tell their workers that the racial hiring problems are the worker's fault and not the owner's fault.
She did not mention the Holocaust, or the genocide of Native Americans, so you are just pulling that out of your ass. Calm down. My comment was about how power works, regardless of if you or I think that power is doing or trying to do something good.
The matter also involves the question of who should run the schools. Local control of schools, the reason why school boards are elected, is (or was) considered a good thing, even if it gets messy-- which this video is an example of. By trying to stop the parents from naming names at a public forum, the board member is trying to limit the ability of the parents to do their job as voters and parents and as the people who decide how the schools should be run.

Here's an idea. If the schools don't comply with our demands, we threaten to have our children bomb the Standards of Learnings tests. These tests are crucial for obtaining federal funds to help subsidize the cost of local school systems. If our children were instructed to simply color in their favorite shapes on the Scantron sheets, we as parents would gain a ton of leverage.
