A little advice. For those that have a little difficulty fitting the bulb into the mounting hole try this, remove the red rubber ( silicon?) gasket from the H11 bulb and take the one off of the old Halogen bulb ( this gasket is slightly thinner that the one on the new LED bulb so getting the tabs into the slots in the mounting hole is easier. Also if there is some interference with the dust cover, this thinner gasket makes the LED fit a millimetre or two further into the headlight housing ( hopefully clearing the edge of the dust cover.
Thanks for the feedback and for sharing your insights! Just curious, did you have the issue with the Sealight bulbs featured here or are you generally speaking? I'm mostly making sure I didn't miss something in my guide steps. I didn't have any clearance issues with the Sealight set.
@@mldiy I’ve installed various leds from different manufacturers in different vehicles. Usually the problem only arises in projector style headlight housings however on my son’s 2019 Buick Encore even though it’s a reflector type lowbeam the passenger side bulb I installed was from Lasfit and it took over 45 minutes to get that bulb to fit due the wiring harness was contacting the side of 5he headlight housing. This wasn’t the case on the drivers side because that wire was clear of the headlight housing before I turned the bulb to seat it with the leds at 9:00 and 3:00 o’clock. On another install with another companies bulb I had purchased because when I communicated with the LED manufacturer they assured mr the H11 bulb would fit in my 2917 Toyota Highlander with the stock dust cover in place. They didn’t, especially with the thicker gaskets in place. I swapped with the halogen gaskets and the passenger side led bulb fit but on the drivers side the fan on the led still hit the edge of the dust cover which I used the good old duct tape to cover the gap on one side. It you look at pretty much any LED headlight bulb the gaskets are “ wider “ ( thicker ) and are also “ stiffer “ than the OEM halogens. This combined with the “ tabs “ on the led’s mounting ring being “ thicker “ than the thin metal tabs on the Sylvania in my case H11 bulbs makes the leds hard to get started in the slots that the tabs fit into before you twist the bulb in. I’ve read lots of reviews and many led purchasers seem to have problems that may be fixed by swapping out the gaskets. I have heard that that particular Sealight bulb does fit in the 2014-2019 Highlander lowbeams without not allowing the figment of the dust cover. Lasfit makes a Highlander specific H11 LED bulb that will fit into the weirdly designed Toyota headlight housing. It also includes a pair of dust covers that hav3 their own built in fan giving you two fans for each H11. This apparently reduces the LED losing some “ brightness “ after 30 minutes of driving. All LEDs lose some brightness after 27 minutes or less because of heat buildup. This varies from bulb t9 bulb but somewhere between 20-40% loss occurs. On these vehicle specific bulbs from Lasfit they only lose 10%. The problem is these LEDs cost over $200 in Canada so likely around $140-$150 US.
Great video, thank you for this, i purchased and installed the Sealight H11 S1 in my 2017 Highlander XLE. Is there a way to adjust the LED lights so that it points downward a bit. Im afraid these ligts are so bright that drivers will be giving me the "high beams" thinking im using my high beams !
Hi Joe, your comment is showing you as someone who is considerate to others, so happy to see the question. Unless you messed with the headlights before or were in an accident, my first suggestion would be to confirm if it's actually aiming high. You'll see at 5:05 in the video where I have the headlights on against the garage door. You can do something similar to roughly confirm that the headlights are aimed down. If you really need to adjust the headlight, there is a plastic cover that is marked as "UD" (and one for RL). That plastic piece just pops off and there's a little spindle wheel you can turn with a flathead screwdriver. You'll still need to aim it against a wall to do the adjustment, so I'd start with just confirming before messing with anything. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your new headlight bulbs too!
I would try to put the old bulb back in. If that goes in, there is something different with your new bulb. Double check it's an actual H11 style bulb, check if the notches match your old bulb, and that the height of the bulb isn't taller than your old bulb so the weather cap doesn't fit. In my video, the sealight bulbs are almost an exact match, so it was very effortless. I hope this helps.
Hi, maybe check if only one side is flickering, in that case it might just be a bad bulb. If both sides flicker, you can try turning the lights on and off with the engine running. If it doesn't flicker then and only flickers when the car is starting (and I interpret that as when the engine is cranking) that maybe is normal.
Quick question: do the high beams flicker during the day when they are in DRL mode? Also, it says these don’t fit my 2018 Highlander, but shouldn’t they?
They should fit. I already let them know their Amazon listing is saying it doesn't fit certain cars when it does. For the flicker issue, I didn't observe that on the Highlander. If both sides are flickering, it might be an issue with the bulbs. If it's only one side, it might just be an issue with the connection. Hard to diagnose remotely but I hope this helps you.
Hi, it's hard to guess without seeing but I'd check to make sure the bulb was fully secured. The other is to make sure no debris got in the headlight, especially as you removed the dust cap and bulb. If you have compressed air, you can try removing the bulb and blowing the housing out. Installing the old bulb and verifying that the dark spots are there or not can help confirm things too. If you put the old bulb in and the spots are there but they weren't before, then it's probably something external like debris in the housing.
Hi, I think the listing has an entry error as it says the 2017 Highlander doesn't fit either. As long as you confirm you're buying the H11/9005 combo kit, you should be good to go. Let me know if you purchase and install. Happy to help if you have any questions.
I don't have any experience with those but can vouch for Sealight, whom I've worked in the past with (this is the second video I did featuring their LEDs). Sealight is also a brand that @TorqueTestChannel has recommended in their previous videos, for what that is worth.
I purchased 24000 lumen H11 LED bulbs from Auxito. They were way too wide for the low beam sockets of the Highlander and Auxito wasn't willing to refund or exchange. I informed them a couple of times about the fitment issue and they still list these bulbs as a direct fit for the Highlander. So my experience with Auxito isn't very good. They prefer to profit by sellng misfitting bulbs knowing that their customers have no recourse after purchasing.
@@bassemwadie4568 Make sure the hole is clean, maybe some debris is there. Or the old o-ring got stuck when you pulled the old bulb out. If it looks clear, try pushing it in while you turn. The o-ring is new and probably just a little tight. Let me know.

thinking of getting these, is the fan noisy, can you hear it inside the cabin?
I don't recall hearing the fans at all even when the car was off. Some of it might be because the dust cap covers it too. Thanks for the question!
Installed these bulbs on my Highlander 2019, works fine, only flickers for some reason when starting the car.

When I installed there apper to be dark sports in front of the car. Do I need to adjust the headlight itself?
