I did buy Vallejo crackle but never found a proper way using it. I use local crackle paints just because they come with use instructions. It would be great having a tutorial for crackle medium application.
It be very nice if you guys make your Lettering in stead of white make it dark gray or black so i can read them what they say or change the table color to green or gray.thank you
Noted. The newer videos are black text over the white table. Thanks!
Why didn't you put the paint in the medium right away? This seems like a complete unnecessary mess.
You can't do that sir. The trick is to have a wet medium ( slow drying medium ) , then a faster drying paint on top. Thus the cracking. This is basically a forced orange peeling effect sir.
Usually love your videos but the crackle application stage was messy and hardly cost effective for making a total of one base.
Will try it on another base. I did it more efficiently on my huge lava base the second time around. :)
I was confused as to what was going on then bam.. there I was.
So did I waste my money on the crackle medium since I don’t have an airbrush?
Hello Cobra! This is just one of the various applications of our Crackle Medium. You can apply the product without the need for an airbrush, and the technique demonstrated by Don is not mandatory
@@vallejocolors ok so how do I color the medium then?
@@cobracommander6606 Start by applying a base color, then add a layer of Crackle Medium and ensure it dries completely. Finish by applying the final color. This process will activate the crackle effect and produce the desired result.
Subtitle says brush over the chipping medium, I assume that should say crackle medium ?
My bad. Sorry. :)
this is actually nothing other than a tear varnish that you can get in standard DIY stores have also tried it works just the same and costs a 1/2 litre €25 nevertheless great video
It's true, that's great value 👍 On the other hand, these cost like 2.50 and you have a chance to learn a variety of mediums without committing a big chunk of cash.
Love it, great showcase of what is possible with crackle medium :)
Thank you! Will do some more experiments with the crackle medium. :)
Is an airbrush a must have for this or can i use a simple brush as well for this ? Just replace airbrush for normal brush and the steps are the same i mean. Nice video !
That was an awful lot of wasted crackle medium, and very little in the way of crack.
Experimenting on the best more crack way to do it. Less crackle medium, then very thin paint on top produced better results. I will make a new video soon. :)
No matter, what I do, the dried crackle medium always flakes off.
🤯 It shouldnt flake off :(
Thanks for the video, this made it so much easier to use! Is it possible to brush the color on to the medium without using an airbrush?
Hello! If you want to brush the color, you must wait for the medium to dry :)
@@vallejocolors Thank you!
Is it possible to mix the crackle medium with the paint and then paint it over the base?
Hello Bryan! Not really, you must paint, then apply Crackle Medium and paint again to make the effect possible :)
@@vallejocolors How do I make the crack effects bigger?
Nice vid!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you! Old video, promise to make the newer ones better. :)
👍🏻 thumbs up guy
Thank you bro! :D
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Супер! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Using the airbrush with gloves like these is the same as taking a shower without taking the clothes off.
Sorry I was shy to share bare hands at the time. This was recorded more than a year ago. :)
@@DonSuratos I hope I didn't offend you. I was just kidding because I can't use the airbrush with gloves on. Not even latex ones :)
@@PGNogueira No worries. I was really shy to show my little nails before. NAils are so tiny, they look like peanuts. :D
@@PGNogueira Like Micheal Jackson, I only wear one glove, but just on the hand that his holding the pieces to be painted!
@@viper29ca Sometimes, that's what I do too :)
may I ask what size is the base?looking to use it in a hg scale gunpla
Hello! We unknown this info but the size probably is more than 10cms diameter
please tell me if it is possible to do without using an airbrush
Hello Kozel, in this case, this technique requires airbrush black paint before the Crackle Medium dries but you can use this option instead for making lava bases acrylicosvallejo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/vallejo-stepbystep-lava-bases-EN.pdf
We hope it helps :)
@@vallejocolors thanks for the help. I love your products :)
