Can you fish around the Houghton Bridge area at Amberley?. Ive heard you can buy a day ticket from the tea shop but it all seems quite vague (where you can and can't fish?). Thanks for the video!.
@@SuperSteve101 I'm not to sure about day tickets. I've seen people fishing there as I've driven past. But i do know it's free fishing south of Arundel. Although it's a much larger and bit of river down that way.
hoping to get out to another stretch of river when the flooding drops as i have heard of some nice dace to be had these. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
@@TheSussexOutdoorsman I am missing chub fishing on the Yorkshire rivers. I caught 3 in one session a few days before Christmas, but the rivers have been in flood ever since. A week or two of cold, dry weather would be good. Hope you get a chance to fish for those big dace before the end of the month.
love this.. wish i had water like this where i live in wales.. but the big taff is all i have in reach.. its an amazing venue for roach, dace, chub, trout, barbel, eels and greyling.. even sea trout "sewin" and salmon.. the only problem is its rather wide at the corse fishing end.. so im getting a sidecast reel to gain the distence.. i recogmend you check them out too.. might be worth the price
Nice to have all those fish options on your river. We do have some nice stretches in natural settings, that are away from the over fished commercial Stillwater's.
Was McCartney a dace angler? I always thought that when he was young, he was more of a bream enthusiast. I know that in the late 1970s he was a keen mullet angler. He used to fish for them in the estuary around Kintyre. So keen that even wrote a song about his estuary pisctorial exploits.
Most of the river above Arundel is sewn up by clubs . However the CALPAC club offer day tickets on their Pulborough stretch. You buy the ticket from the "Corn Store" antique shop next to the bridge . You can fish from the water meadow downstream of the bridge for about 3/4 of a mile . Last time l went it was £10 a day.
@@TheSussexOutdoorsman well if it’s a big Dace you’re after, look no further than the Hampshire Avon. Getting them here at 11oz in summer, 15oz in winter.
I have since been told these little fish are bleak. Not the dace i had thought. Even so was a beautiful day of fishing so im happy.

Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video.
As Fred J Taylor once wrote: "You will spend years trying to catch a big dace, and when you finally do so, it will be a small chub".

I could spend some time in that lovely environment and catch dace all day. Not a problem. Fishing is about the experience.
It was such a nice day to be out. Glad you enjoyed the film. Many thanks.
nice Video
They all looked like bleak to me,im not the only one who thought so
@@ColinPickney yeah seams so. Next time I'll try a bit deeper for some Roach.
Thanks for the video. You similar to young Paul McCartney.
Well that's very kind. Was such a good day. Had to get to the river and to give it a go.

Any chance you remember where on the Arun this please? Great videos btw!
This was at stopham bridge. Lovely area but a bit tricky with the tides.
Any reccomended day tickets for the Arun? Cheers 😀 really enjoying this video, centrepin is what its all about!
I'm not to sure about day tickets,. I think it's mostly free from blow Arundel. But that's a big bit of water. Thanks for watching.

The record bleak is 4oz, so you’ve got some way to go.!
Shame. If i keep trying i could be a record holder.

Them's not dace - they're bleak. Squillions of 'em in there. Corn might have got through them and picked out some roach. Next time try hemp and tares.
Thanks for letting me know. I didn't realize at the time. Should had moved about trying corn. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
