Back Down The River Chub Fishing on a Wild Upper Medway section

- Fishing on wild sections of river can be challenging at the best of times especially at the start of a new river season when the fields and swims are covered with high weed growth, bushes and stinging nettles plus very steep banks. It is not for the faint hearted. In this @fishingtailfilms episode I battle the elements in search for some Chub using bread flake and cheese paste baits.

First day is either good or bad, like you I used to love just being out in the fresh air looking at nature close up.
Tight lines for next trip Russ. 👍
Very true David it can be hit and miss but great to be out by the rivers edge and watching the moving water. Thank you 👍

Thank you and I to your channel 👍
There is something about fishing the rivers. I find it so peaceful and right in amongst the countryside. Taking in all of nature and the surroundings. Shame it has become so overgrown but at least there are some you can access
Very peaceful Becka by a flowing river or weir and yes it can be like fighting your way through a jungle sometimes to get a bite or two.
Hi, i have fished the upper medway for 60years and it is more overgrown now than its ever been. Its certainly made the fishing harder with the quantity of chub just not there anymore. Walked the river the other night throwing floating bread in half a dozen swims, saw just one fish rise. It used to be there would be fish in every swim big and small!
@@malcolmcard7151 Hi Malcolm, agree with your comments. It is more overgrown for sure and on my club stretch it hardly seems to get fished. It seems each season and sessions that I am fishing for less chub. A very challenging river and I hope to get amongst some decent again on future trips. I have had them to over 5lbs let’s hope there are still a few left. Have a great season 🐟🎣👍
