Good work guys. Wish y’all where in my area, I need some concrete work done. It’s hard to find someone around here that takes that much care with there work.
One detail I’m always curious about in your videos is timing of each step once concrete has been poured. Adding the real time marks each time you switch tool type would be great. Enjoy your videos.
@@catmenot7143 It depends on the mix type, temperature, humidity, wind, sunlight, how long it was in the truck, how long it took to pour, and whether a retarder or accelerant was added. @@OdellCompleteConcrete o wow so you drilled a hole into hard concrete without cracking it then hammered rebar into the hole without cracking? I didn't know that's how it was done thanks
Hi Odell, One thing did the neighbour mind you walking and cutting and piling dirt/mud on his lawn ? ..... i know it wasn't in good shape before you started to trample all over it .. BUT still it was his lawn his property his land... bit late in the day but can you respond please.
Awesome video and narration. So glad you don't do music, special effects and talk too much.. Say, I notice you don't use gravel on top of the dirt. I thought there was value in doing this, making for a more solid surface, water to run through etc.? Also, I've been told that in some places it is required by code? Thanks for your thoughts on this...
David, just curious, I didn't see that you used expansion joint material at the driveway and sidewalk. I never understood why expansion joints are not required in some cases. Can you help me understand why not in this case?
whats the ball park cost of something like this. i want to widen my driveway as well. probably roughly the same amount of concrete. not as wide but longer distance.
Always keep in mind there might be easements of power/internet or plumbing lines between the houses. They can make you tear it out if you cover their lines.
Nice work. I'm getting ready to pour my first small concrete patio (15'x10'). I'm just learning. Why do some videos show curing compound used and some don't. What's the purpose for the curing compound?
That was nice. you obviously take pride in your work. I have an off-topic question if you don't mind: My driveway is old and is a nice grey color and you can see the aggregate, Not a lot, but enough to break it up and give it a good look. My neighbor's new drive is white. Like see-it-from-space white. Are they all like this now? I'd hate for mine to look like that. I'll let it go longer if the new one would be that harsh looking. Are there different kinds of mix available? What I have isn't elaborate at all but it has some variation and the grey is subdued, not blinding white. It seems like the older work is more like what I have and the newer stuff is this bright white. We're in an area that freezes solid in winter, if that matters.
I asked before, and am still wondering though it is of the subject, do you recycle the dirt? Guess that is my main comment being as the work looks perfect.
Is the color difference between the driveway and the new concrete always going to be that different? Is it always going to be that dark gray color when it’s dry
One thing I've always been curious about with concrete work. When you have a small job like that, that only requires about 5 yards of concrete, How does that work with only using about a half a truck of mud? Does the truck slit a load with two jobs and just time it right or do you have to pay a big premium for a small load? Always wondered that? Also, what if you are on a bigger job and you run about a yard short, How does that work?
Great work as always and your vids are edited really well. After the extension is poured, is there a way to resurface the existing slab to make both look as one? Thanks

Nice job, but didn't the neighbour complain re the damage/mess to his grassed area? Think I would have asked for boards to be laid down first if I was him.
It doesn’t look like the was any mess or damage to the neighbors yard there is a divider the clearly separated the two properties and they poured at least 6” from that. So would guess the neighbor probably asked for a card so he can get his side done next. 😁
Maybe if the lawn looked good before then was damaged but I see no difference. I’m glad I don’t have complaining neighbors that don’t take care of there own yard.
