Beautiful. People that don't appreciate concrete have never done concrete work before. It is a real art form. I have only done about 30 yards in my life some of it mixing by hand. That was enough to understand how difficult it really is.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete You're welcome! You ALL have definitely earned it! I just wish you were in Tennessee...lol. I don't trust any paving company to do what I could probably do by watching YOUR UA-cam videos, and a hand full of family and friends! 😂 Again, keep up the GREAT work, and wish you all the best! And don't forget to keep making your amazing videos...I might need them! 🤭
Hey man just wanted to let you know I really enjoy your videos. I'm mostly a precast guy, but do the occasional flatwork job. Great work, keep posting the videos. Thanks.
That’s some beautiful concrete work. You my friend, are a true professional. I can tell that you love what you are doing. I truly wish I could find someone like yourself in Pittsburgh to do some concrete work for me but I’m learning a ton from your videos. I may try to do my sidewalks myself. Lol We’ll see. Keep up the great work!
"Potential Inverted plane Joint" I am like, "heck yeah man!" I learned something new!! And I am going to sound super smart when I used that term next concrete job I do. Lol. Another good video as always. Something so satisfying about watching you guys finish concrete. And yeah!! Gotta love the pea gravel. That big rock is harder to move. I did a 1 3/4 yard side walkway at a friend's house. And we got that delivered. I think it was leftover on the truck from a driveway project.
Yeah! You're right! Now that I think about it, it was already a little dry and stiff. I though to myself, "I can finish that easy by myself no problem." I ended up taking a but kicking!! Haha but, it still came out nice. The homeowners (My friend and his wife) that I helped out, were very happy.
Another satisfied customer! Good work. I was a bit nervous when the hammer was thrown when removing the forms. One wrong bounce and it would have been “DOH”!!
In the UK we have to handle rainwater run-off by using channel drains across the front of properties, I know you don’t get a lot of rain but isn’t there any requirements for heavy rain for you guys. Great work as always.
Could you do a video on how to set up to slope a small slab for proper drainage? I am looking at pouring a 12x12 patio off my house and would like to see how to set the forms etc for drainage. Thank you so much. Love your videos.
Hello Odell nice job👌 i like all your videos. Can you post one explaining how to use the fiber properly? Im engeneer from Dominican Republic but here we are years behind the us. We use the fiber but theres not to much info of how to use properly.
I'm doing a 4 yard pour this summerfor a patio on a day that isn't so hot. I'm buying ready mix and doing it alone I hope it's feasible i don't want to run Into drying problems. Didn't know u gave lessons with patreon I think I'm gonna sign up
Can you post a video/blog of you and your sons and just talk about how you got started and how your sons came into it and what you guys see in the future for the company. Just to get some background on you guys👍🏼
Watching this makes me feel like, "i can totally do this" but then when i look at my space ill be working with am like. "probably should hire a professional to do this" haha great work here
You're videos are very helpful for someone looking to get into the trade. I had a question. Why wasn't there any sub grade layed down and also why is sub grade needed?. I'm brand new to concrete and basically using youtube as a teacher. Any info helps thanks.
hello, may i ask you how you decide to go with rebar or not. to drill into existing slab or not, to compact the soil or not doing driveway addition. watched 4 of your videos and its done differently every time, got confused
Nice jon guys I watch couple of tour videos trying to see and learn new technics I'll been doing concrete for almost 20 years ( curn and gutter sidewalk driveway etc) where do you find the second trowel you guys ise to finish the concrete the one the moves like a regular hand float? Very interesting tool!
What do you guys think about a job in pouring a driveway, where they bull float it, finish and float the edges but does no more floating on the whole slab? Just a bull float and a broom finish. Is there something with the job that the top would not be sealed against weather and salt in the winter or anything else?
Just one observation, might want to invest in some tool belts. i'm a bmw master technician and one thing i learned from the old timers is to never put tools on the floor. 1, they are expensive, and 2 is a hazard, 3 you could lose them. nice work
What's the brooming for? Just texture? What would happen if you don't do the brooming part? Excellent videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Subscribed.
Watching your works makes me confident I can do my own addition to my driveway. Im doing an addition onto my two car for my boat. Im in southern Mississippi where its humid and rains a lot. Any tips?
Do you guys seal it once it’s all done for curing? Or is that not needed. Just did my driveway today and debating if I should seal it since it’s October or if it doesn’t need it
Mr. Odell, is old brick ok to use as underlayment in foundation? We have old bricks/concrete from my parents' old home that burned. We want to use these as our "rocks" under our foundation for our basketball court and garage/workshop. Is this feasible?
To extend the concrete Dont you have to drill through old concrete and add steel rods for construction joint so that the new one doesn’t crack when it expands and contracts
I'm new to this and wondering if you drilled dowels to fix the new concrete to the existing or did you put in an expansion joint material to keep the new separate from the existing? Curious to know your rationale for either method.
You've mentioned this concrete pour waa different bc of the large rock. Where I am there is a mandatory 6" min for driveway depth but for future references what term is used to say you want bigger rock as well?
Professional job right there. I can see you take pride in your work and it’s good to see you passing that to your sons.

You’re giving this sparky courage to try a pad. Is there a reason you didn’t drill any rebar into the existing concrete?

Odell Complete Concrete what if 24 hours after I pour it gets down to 40 degrees the next night? Should I be shitting myself?
Odell, didn’t see it on the video but why not extend the driveway all the way to the city curve and build a street entrance to the new driveway?
Much more costly.
Same thing exactly ! What i want to do...plus same house layout also..ball park cost?
2000-3000 depending where you live
I'm curious, why no rebar? When would you use rebar and when not?
This is big rock
Great video. Do you not always need rebar?
Depends on the soil, the region and economics
How do you use concrete fiber? Does it come with it from the readymix? And what psi? Thanks
Yes its mixed in to the concrete.
3000 psi
3000 psi on a driveway? 4000 is standard
@@mah7843 to be driven over, yes it is. If you use less than 4000 on a driveway, you don't know what you're doing.
Do you guys seal it once it’s all done for curing? Or is that not needed. Just did my driveway today and debating if I should seal it since it’s October or if it doesn’t need it
