so the way you get better in any art is by developing in the 3 fundamentals, these being elements of art, artform specific fundamentals, and technique. Wen you plateau it's because you've gotten familiar with your current understanding for those 3 things and you dont understand them to a higher degree. To move past this plateau you have to learn more about one of or all 3 of those things. Mind you artists spend a lifetime studying these 3 things and never fully learn them, I mean Leonardo de Vinci didnt even come close to learning these 3 fully and he's one of the greatest artists to ever live. The point being, there's always much more to learn with these 3 things. The deeper your understanding of these 3 things gets then the more advanced you become as an artist.
if you dont know where to start it's because you don't have the skillset for wild styles. Thats like a fine artist saying, i have a good enough skill set for hyper realism but idk where to start. The issue being, hyper realism is just a normal progression of realism, same way wild styles are for pieces. Wild styles are one of those things where if you were good enough to do them you would know where to start. I wish i was recording me saying this so you can tell im saying this with respect and interest in seeing you get to the point where you are good enough for wild styles. I always feel like this sort of thing comes off harsh when written out but my friend, dontcha worry, we all were where you are now, we all hit that point where we think we're ready but we're not, just takes some practice is all
I feel the same man. I know i can physically draw the shapes and lines needed, but i dont have the mindset to put things together like that. Like with music anyone who practices long enough can play a jimi hendrix song but can they create a jimi song?
@@Honey-uv9tu yea i know, u missed what i was saying, even tho we may have the skills in hand to copy a wild style piece, its a whole different monster to create one out of nothing

There are some who call practice evidence. Just be aware and stay frosty.
Could you go deeper on that last question? More about overcoming plateaus.
