it's perfect, because you have no idea what he's talking about, but he's a liar or a beginner than you, he says that the actuator is controlled by the mosfet and the microcontroller, the two pins and he still uses a pin, which earlier it said that it leads to the processor, as grounding to start playing with the battery through the Pcb.
Best video ever, I've seen a couple of other videos on this gear shifter but they were too general and no explanation. Your video is quite a nice tutorial. Thanks
This is the very best breakdown on a common fault with these Vehicles, Thank you so much for posting this Excellent video, we grant you 101********* 😇🙂
Hello, good video. What happens if the lifting of the knob is neutralized, remaining always raised and blocked, neutralizing the mechanical part that blocks the knob? Thank you.
Thanks for the video. My car went into neutral while I was driving a few days ago. After I rolled to a stop I couldn’t rotate the gear selector knob. After rebooting the car it worked for about 2 months and it was done it again. The GEAR warning light also came on. I wonder if the gear shifter is bad or if the problem is deeper ? Interesting that rebooting it made everything work again. Makes me think it’s something electrical. I’d really appreciate any advice and anyone has to share.
Hi my friend. It could be only a loose connection. Meaning that loose connection went off and on when driving and set a fault code, so transmission went into limp home mode. But considering that disconnection was just for a second, when you turned the ignition switch off and on, everything was back to normal.
The black plastic that moves up and down from the blue wire, can this not be held open with something like a zip tie? Allowing the shifter to turn left and right as normal?
Any feedback on why this troubleshoot versus brake light indicator switch (under/in knee dash). Seemed to be first troubleshoot for this issue, don't want to HAVE to pull this gd module out but hey rr right. Own 2 evos (14, 15)... Been in love over past 5 years but getting ready to pull plug. 14 is stuck in park (why I'm here) and I'm just so frustrated. Working on this tomorrow.
Thank you. 2015 Evoque selector stuck in D in raised position. With your help I've pinpointed the fault, the rotation lock solenoid had failed. With a new 9v battery connected, either way, there was only a small pulse of movement seen. To get the vehicle mobile i have secured the solenoid in the retracted position with tape. The car now starts in P and N so is mobile, the control lifts and lowers as it should, the only adverse effect I can see is that the gear control can be turned without having to press the footbrake. I understand the safety concern, this is purely temporary while a new solenoid is sourced. Have you sourced this part before? Many thanks for your very clear video 👍
Hi there, thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I normally collect the good internal parts from the faulty units ( when they are not repairable anymore), so I don’t need to look for them.
this video make me save 900 euros❤❤❤ i can say that in my selecror the problem was that the central black retracting pole was out of position because one of two springs inside the arm in the lower side of the unit outcomed so the shifter gone over position and stuck in R position.
Thanks for the video. Is there any way to put this transmission on neutral if we can't start the car? My job is mostly roadside service, that's why I/m asking this. Thanks
remove the airbox and look at the bottom of the engine bay at the top of the transmission. you will see a small lever that you can push to the side in order to disengage the parking

My gear selector is stuck in drive and in the up position. I am assuming it’s the rotation lock solenoid part that needs to be replaced based on your video. Do you have that part number for the rotation solenoid?
I would have suspected that that the ground on the connector would be ground, and you use the transistor to turn the solenoid on and off. Not sure that ic could take the power to drive the solenoid? But god video! Keep them coming!
Thank you for video. After disconnect gear box for replace some plastic part i have conected again and car dont recognize more the gear box, no one led power, it like dead. Any idea?
Can I please ask a question… my shifter works perfectly until you move if from Drive to Reverse and the R light just flashes and doesn’t engage but if I go back to park and then select Reverse it works perfectly… what is my problem Can you please help
Hi there, this problem could be coming from the gear selector position at the position sensors inside the unit. It also could be coming from the control unit as well but I normally check the first possible cause.

hey if i dont have continuity between the connector and the transistor then what could be the issue? the board looks okay
Excellent

Sometimes we have to do it in emergency situation until we fix the shifter
Sir i have a range rover 2014 vouge with the selector going to (D). But not back from( D )to park. it’s also having the same problem. Thanks
Hi my friend. So it’s all the time stuck in D?

I have a 2016 Discovery sport that is stuck in drive in the raised position! I've been stuck in the driveway unable to start since before Christmas!
Did you have any luck during the rotation lock solenoid part?
Awesome 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video. Do you have more info on how to test the gearshift not raising? Also what fault codes can show what is faulty. Thanks
Hi my friend, I think I tested the gearshift raising in this video!
I did the same test and gear shift rises. Do you know what else the problem could be?
this video make me save 900 euros❤❤❤ i can say that in my selecror the problem was that the central black retracting pole was out of position because one of two springs inside the arm in the lower side of the unit outcomed so the shifter gone over position and stuck in R position.

At 16:34, how do you repair when there isn’t continuity (power supply from transistor drain) but all other connections are good?
I solder a wire between two ends.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosisso don’t replace the transistor?

Yes, I will send the procedure here

Is there anyway I can check this without the tool that you made? Like with voltmeter or something?
That tool is actually for actuating the components very safely without damaging them. Multi meter can not do the same function.
I would have suspected that that the ground on the connector would be ground, and you use the transistor to turn the solenoid on and off. Not sure that ic could take the power to drive the solenoid? But god video! Keep them coming!

Hi there, this problem could be coming from the gear selector position at the position sensors inside the unit. It also could be coming from the control unit as well but I normally check the first possible cause.
You need to put scanner and relearn the paremeters of selector.
Before that, you have to take off both of bateries of car to reset module.
if I change it do I need to program it?
Programming is not needed.
Best video
Thanks

You covered the input and output of the drivers but not the command to them. No command, no output.
