You know, with the whole storm going on during this battle, I can’t help but feel like Zeus and Aires are having a rare Father-Son bonding moment, while watching their favourite sport, cheering the Athenians on. Meanwhile, Hera, Athena and Aphrodite are in the next room doing their level best to both ignore all the hooting and hollering, AND be civil with one another.
Tbh, MOST of us would've done the same seeing a blue-caped soldier who's clearly better trained than those without one running towards you and seeing them take on multiple of your teammates and your just one. You're better off running 😂
Leonidas' very existence is dubious, as it is filled with Greek nationalism that is often comical. But, yeah, according to their history, at the time of this movie Leonidas was already alive.
while I love the 300 movies for those who are generally curious about the battle of marathon. The Athenians did to a shock attack but not against unloading Persians but against the Persian battle lines, after a prolonged engagement where similar to the later spartan battle of the 300 they held up on a uphill slope flanked by purposely fallen trees and cliff banks. the exhausted Persians fell back to regroup but while trying to do so the Athenians counter attacked with said shock attack forced Persians all the way back to the boats where they tried to flee to where Persian reinforcements arrived by boat with xerces and the rest of the Persian army which was held up by a storm. where they watched the landed part of the army get butchered with few survivors able to set sail with many capsizing due to overloading. its also where the famous line of a Athenian soldier holding a Persian ship to keep it from fleeing but they keep cutting up his body till he was forced to hold the ship with his teeth. what made this battle even more impressive was when xerces and his father took the fleet to Athens thinking the Athenian army would be to exhausted to keep up after the battle they just fought. only to find the full Athenian army waiting in formation on the walls and shore of Athens. though I highly recommend you look up the battle yourself as I'm sure I got some stuff wrong. the battle was very interesting.
Yes the battle was very interesting but the film got everything wrong. Themistokles was of course the admiral in the battle of Salamin but had nothing to do with the battle of Marathon. Miltiades was the greek general that planned the attack on the persians.
Xerxes had nothing to do with the battle of marathon as he was a child then and hadnt succeded his father Darius yet. You are true about the persian fleet going to attica shores after the battle of marathon but for the reason you mentioned they retreated. 10 years later thermopylae happened then the naval battle of Salamis(Themistocles) and after that the battle of Platee(Pausanias)
@@anthimosemoze as to be expected of a movie thats based on a comic that based on the mythology of a story thats based on a historical event. @@anthimosemoze as i said i probably got some things wrong. I dont doubt he was there but he definitely wouldn’t have been in charge. Yes Darius died a few years later. Persian wars is not the Heliad or Odyssey. There are many archeological evidence that prove who where the people in charge at those battles from both sides. Even the helmet that Miltiades wore in the battle of marathon that he dedicated to Zeus in the temple of ancient Olympia was found. I dont understand where is the myth in persian wars?
How funny when i was watching this i thought persia was evil, but when i learned history they are like normal peiple who want to expand their border and influence to other nations😂.
Yeah fuck that sounds like Americans down the line they’d become dictators my guy. “Expanding” is another word for conquering. Just depends on what era you’re talking about.

He was alive during this battle. This took place years before Thermopylae
Historically he was alive
What do you mean lol he was alive during the battle of marathon doing king of two things

Why don’t they make the 300 part 3?? It’s so epic that makes me feel so hyped every time i rewatch it
This movie came out 10 years ago, and it didn’t do well in the box office. So the 3rd got scrapped
Actually the movie did go well. He did tree times the money spent to produce It. But dont know if that was enought tbh

The Athenians be like, formations? Armor? Who needs those when you have cool slo-no fights.

2:41 first time seeing an armor in a film that actually protects its wearer rather than being a cosmetic
War never stop
This movie tried to 300 so hard....but just came up 275 short.
Why The Greeks love to fight naked? Is that also epics?
Everything is more epic when you take your clothes off: street fights, gardening, taking a poop, sex,... Everything.
Because they didn't, that is a graphic novel, Greeks if anything were ahead with their armors and equipment
