If you don't need the extra shutter button, can the camera operate without the cable? I realize it won't power the shutter, but will it still power the camera?
Yes it powers the camera also without the cable.
Thanks. got it and it works the way I need it to
You should be a football announcer with your voice
Does this work with the a6600?
I have one for about a year, pretty good! The only bummer is if you leave the batteries in it, it drains the batteries. The newer ones for the A7III are much better built and do not drain the batteries..
Does it flex when attached to the a6500 body?
Pab lo does what flex? The battery grip? Mine does no flex any.
@@ekphotography yeah when its attached to the body.does it feel like one solid camera?
Pab lo yes it does! Well worth the money. I love it. You just need to take the batteries out when storing or they will drain.
@@ekphotography even if you turn off both, the camera and grip?
Can i use a6500 with battery grip on weebill s or if aircross 2 or please suggest me a gimbal that can hold those?? Please reply
Been thinking about this. Thanks for the review

Can you still charge and use the A6500 with the vertical grip?
Can i use a6500 with battery grip on weebill s?? Please reply
so you have to remove all just for change SD
2 minutes of your day to take it off after coming home from hours of shooting? how lazy are you? Jesus
@@brysonferguson1389 then why should i need a battery grip just for extra one battery? when i can change it within 30 second?
is it worth it to buy a battery grip?
@@Simon.Official you have to think about it more in the lieu of having double the battery life for longer video sessions, removing the battery and putting another one means you have to stop recording... plus the ergonomic improvement
256 memory would do 👍🏼until end of the day.
it suits at a6000?
Does it flex when attached to the body?
was there an update video?
Would it be a waste of money if one where buy this JUST so that we could have 2 extra batteries in hand to switch out when needed rather than have to carry extra batteries in pocket (when one wants to carry light without a backpack)? Because using this would essentially be like having 3 batteries right? Or only 2?
2.
I'm amazed that in 2018 cumbersome and archaic devices like this still exist. Surely it's easier just to buy a Ravpower rechargable battery bank with a couple of batteries. Charge them up and put them in your pocket! They are tiny.
You genius, tell me does the Ravpower power bank have a vertical shutter button? Damn big mouth ...
It's irrelevant because it'll be at home. You will however have a few tiny fully charged batteries in your back pocket rather than having this lump of shite attached to your your A6500 that does nothing more.
@@atwogun7751 Its more than just extra battery time. With heavier lenses the camera is better balanced as the body is so small
Great video! Thank you!
It said not compatible when i use it on my a6000
a6000 has it's own battery grip by meike
Will it work with Sony a 6400?
I was not able to get it to work but many say that it does.
Great video and presentation ! I know this is not the topic of your video. However as you seems to know some addins for the Sony a6500, do you heard about a nice glass protection for the camera ? Indeed, there are a lot in Amazon but it seems that it doesn't fit correctly on the screen (bubbles, not the good size etc...)... do you have some advices for protecting the screen ?
Has anyone tried this with the A5100?
Somewhat defeats the main objective of using an apsc camera which is size/portability.
Hopeless product, but awesome video
Why is this hopeless. I got one and its great
not well designed! This is one reason were going OME is worth it.
I own it- does the job. Well worth the price- not only for extended battery usage but a nicer grip , especially with larger lens. Well designed to blend in seamlessly with the a6500 and even will work with the a6000 .
OEM* and Sony doesnt provide a grip for it so 🤷🏽♂️
For real, Sony doesnt have OEM grips or battery packs.
