  • It feels great to be back outdoors once again.
Been awhile since I've been out camping. This trip was a relaxing 3 day trip where I cooked up some delicious meals, made some useful camp items, and enjoyed the great Canadian wilderness.
Thank you to everyone who watches. Give this video a like if you enjoyed it and be sure to subscribe. I have plenty of more camping and bushcraft trip videos coming soon.
If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below in the comments section.
    FAQ/ Extra Video Information:
    Where was this filmed?
    Northern Alberta, Canada
    What do I film with?
I use an iPhone 6 mounted on a tripod. I only use this one camera and move it around to get different shots and angles.
What was the temperature on this trip?
The temperature was actually quite good all trip long. During the day it was around 15 degrees Celsius, and at night it got down to 5 degrees Celsius.
    What did my bedroll include?
One queen sized 100% wool blanket and a thin foam sleep pad for insulation.
Are there any dangerous animals there?
Yes. Where I camped in this video there are black bears, grizzly bears, cougars, and wolves.
How do I protect myself from these dangerous animals?
    I carry bear spray.
What kind of tarp am I using?
Homemade waxed cloth tarp. Here's a link to the video of how I made it:
    • Video
What was I drinking on this trip?
    River water and green tea.
What were my meals for this trip?
Day 1- Supper: Chicken legs and rice
Day 2 - Breakfast: Bacon and eggs
    Supper: Steak and boiled potatoes
Day 3 - Breakfast: Pan bread with raspberry jam
    What tools am I using?
    Knife: Helle Sigmund
    Hatchet: Marbles 700DB
Saw: Bahco 21" peg tooth saw blade on a wood frame I made myself
Folding pocket knife: Rough Rider Doctors Knife
What cook set am I using?
    Tea kettle: Woods Nootka Kettle
Pot & Pan: Brand unknown. I've had this pot and pan set for many years and never used it until this trip. It worked quite well and is a nice minimalist cook set.
Why did I change my backpack?
I need to make a better strap system for my wood frame pack. I need to make something that has adjustable straps so I can make the wood frame sit better while I'm carrying different pack weights.
What kind of pants am I wearing?
Waxed cotton pants. I am going to make a video on them soon, so stay tuned.
What am I smoking in my pipe?
Samuel Gawith Navy Flake (pre-rubbed at home).

@@moorshound3243probably some law that forbid this or even you must pay to rent some camping where you allowed to do such things, and near you will be family with 100500 kids which will be running and screaming. And if you did it "illegally" they make you pay HUGE bill

I just discovered you a week ago (and think I wrote an appreciative comment a couple days ago). I learn each time, though your climate differs from mine, and I hammock-hike because our forests are mostly hilly glacial moraines, where it is difficult to find a place to ground-camp. Photo-journalism is like plumbing; one only notices it when something doesn't work. Your ability to allow the video to speak for you is among the best I have witnessed on UA-cam. Stay safe, and enjoy the forest!

Thank you for keeping traditions alive, and for teaching others how to do the same provided the technological world many of us are currently locked into. When you go far into the forest, when your phone is silent, it does not catch the signal, and the sleeping bag on the foam replaces your favorite bed! When your dinner is boiling in a black pot on a hot fire, and all your clothes are soaked through with smoke. You forget about all your problems, they simply do not exist, there is you and the silence of the forest! The silence from which is muffling. Your senses sharpen as you hear the wind, the rustle of grass, and leaves. The creaking of the trunks. At this moment, you feel that you are alive, you are alive now, you listen to your breath, your heart, Nothing can replace these feelings. You are cleansed of all that weighed on you yesterday. Just you and nature. And you're on your own. You're alive now, and that's all that matters. For this we go to the forest. To experience it, over and over again. Those who have experienced it will understand. Those who have not experienced it, still have everything ahead of them. Thank you for giving me this feeling. Thank you for making such content that attracts people to put on a backpack and go to wander along the forest path, your work makes people really happy. 👍My channel on You Tube is just starting to take shape. If you don't mind, please put a few likes and a couple of short comments.
