Its excellent news. At least in one place people are waking up from the scourge of religious zealotry. Religion is fine and even a positive force in many cases, but taken to its extreme, it can also become a force for repression, strife and intellectual stagnation. That is exactly happens in theocracies. But nowadays people forced to live in such places can compare themselves to those living in freer places, so they will begin to compare and resist the oppression eventually. There is something in Iranian culture known as GHAHR, meaning ignoring someone as if that person does not even exist. This is often done among family or friends. It is a very hard experience for the person who is being ignored! Iranian public seems to be in GHAHR with Islam and this would be extremely hard and dangerous for the ruling Islamic government.
