It’s probably not an overstatement to say that Joe Walsh is probably the best thing that ever happened to the Eagles. Just took them to the stratosphere. Man the whole Hotel California album is a masterpiece. I love the big hits but also the under the radar tunes. Pretty Maids All In a Row, The Last Resort and Try And Love Again are all great. I saw Don Felder’s show a while back and he and his band were awesome! Thanks nice reaction!
Yes Joe Walsh was able to help make the full transition from a Country soft Rock soft to a harder edge "punch you in mouth" sound!
p.s. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PRETTY MAIDS IN A ROW especially the harmony sung at the end!
One of the band members, years later, said in an interview that "Joe Walsh is one of the greatest group of guys you'd ever meet".
He's a "nut", but a fun "nut". His song "Life's Been Good" pretty much sums him up.

@@VadersRage joe isnt afraid to let other people shine, i have watched him play with every kind of artist. he lets them do there thing, and then he just adds to what they are doing. most artist have way to much ego to do that kind of thing
Don Felder deserves way way more credit than he ever gets for the Eagles turning into what they were. He was responsible for most of the great guitar on their hits and he wrote the music for Hotel California.

An early version of this iconic classic filmed at my old stomping grounds inside the Capital Center at Landover, MD....... EPIC!!! Just love Don Henley's hair style at this time. I never grow tired of listening to this song. Lots of lyrical euphemisms which allows the listener free for interpretation to create his/her own meaning. The guitar riffs are some of the best ever. Don Felder played most of the lead while Joe Walsh chimed in. Just a fabulous performance that this band is still playing today with a few different players than in this video. Thanks for reacting.

Excellent review. I'll echo others here: listening to the entire song allows you to come back and piece the elements together. Many reactors interrupt the flow of the song they are reviewing so much that, it seems to me, first time listeners might be more confused that anything. I appreciate your maturity in your review.

Thank you for letting the whole song play though all the way to the end, especially for the Guitar ending. Way too many You Tube reaction channels constantly interrupt this song every 10 seconds and ruin the enjoyment of listing to this music. 😄
Enjoyed your take on this classic. One thing you hadn’t mentioned: you noted Frey’s bed on the acoustic but I wasn’t sure if you realized it was a 12-string. Likewise, in the intro and in the first two verses, Felder is on the 12-string neck of his electric. Both certainly create a great mood.
You know I did actually notice it because I started kicking myself when I noticed I didn't mention Frey's 12 string and Felder's 12 string on his double neck (DOUBLE NECKS ARE SOOO COOL). But yes! I love the resonance of the 12 string. It really adds another element to the song!

I just stumbled upon your channel and enjoyed watching your reaction. I browsed through your videos and found quite a few I plan to check out. Are you aware that the Eagles (three of the original members) started as a backup band for Linda Ronstadt? She is an absolutely stunning talent. She has a forty year catalogue that crosses multiple genres. I hope you will check out her work. She has the voice of an angel. One of her early songs was “Long Long Time”. That would be a great place to start. Her live performances are wonderful and that’s without electronic tricks or autotune. Good luck with your channel 🌺✌️

Yeah.... I really should be ashamed of myself 😔 because Randy Meisner was soooo good on that bass! my favorite is the intro to "One Of These Nights." On that song you can just hear Randy having all kinds of fun with that bass line!
