i ordered my first 44 Pro before people reported the lowering quality, but as it was getting made more people were saying they werent good anymore. i got lucky that mine came out good, might be because i got black leather and not some crazy colours, but i did get a thinner heel pad which was disappointing, but it still looks great and feels good
Excellent video, worth the wait. It's great to see you back at it. I think the commentary on 44 Pro and quality/manufacturing changes is excellent and sorely needed (in terms of market research). Question: what are the extra thumb loops on the Japan Select for?
I honestly think the main difference in break in time with gloves is simply the disparity in leather "quality" or thickness. I've had a2000's that literally never broke in, stayed stiff af for years, and ive had a2000's that ive broke in in an hours worthh of catch and nothing more. Love that little caatch session around the 10:00 mark
Awesome video man, I love this wide break in, I have a JL infield glove (not Japanese style) but I might try and get it broken in wide like this. Love the content, I think it’s really cool when you bring other people in for the videos, I know that gets a bit dicey but it’s cool to see the collaboration
I just bought a Rawlings HoH R2G, Rawlings Pro Preferred and a 44 Pro. Both Rawlings gloves have better craftsmanship vs the 44 Pro. The 44 Pro isn't bad, but the overall leather quality and construction isn't nearly as good as the Rawlings. Even though both the Pro Preferred and 44 Pro are constructed using Kip leather, the quality of the 44 Pro leather isn't even as good as my HoH R2G IMO. The quality of Rawlings laces is better as well. They're thicker and more supple while the 44 laces are thinner are more brittle. I bought prior year Rawlings close out models so the prices were pretty close to the 44 Pro with a 25% discount. At about the same price, I would pick either Rawlings glove over a 44 in the future.
Bro you ain't wrong 44 is super inconsistent. I bought 2 of them and bought the second one before I received the first and that was a mistake. My first one feels and looks like shit the thumb insert is like half of an insert it's super weird and the glove as a whole is just poorly made. And my second glove while it's made better and looks nice I ordered a 12.25 and it says 12.25 on the glove but measures 11.75 it's literally a 11.75. They wanted me to pay shipping to send it back and they would determine if it was the wrong size even tho I sent pics to prove it. I told them no because I didn't want them to make a new one and it be as shitty as my first one. Super unimpressed with 44

Good luck! The good thing about most gloves is that you can form them in different ways/shapes. Also, I’ll be having my friends in my vids more often. I’m going to be making more videos with catch play in them!

Tan
this was a banger lots of information
I would like to see gloves
Awesome video brotha !
What do you put in special requests to get that web
“Custom Web” then emailed them a picture of it with my order number to info@44progloves.com
Would u recommend it for someone that does 2 in the Pinky?
I think it should be fine, but it may take a little longer to break in since 44’s pinky stalls are usually pretty tight
