Thanks for posting this. Love Nokona mitts (my sister, D1 catcher, used them all through high school, college, and “senior ball” after NCAA eligibility (2008,) then passed one down to my daughter who has yet to find anything she liked better. Just grabbed her a new X2-V3250 while we get my sisters old mitt relaced. Single break break in. I use a Nokona 1B mitt for men’s league ball and love it. Since I have a problem with buying gloves I don’t need, I’ve been curious about their gloves - this answered it fairly well (though I only play 1B and RF.) Good to hear they’re improving. I game a Mizuno Pro Select 12.75 that I absolutely love, and picked up an A2K 1775 this year because why not.
I grew up a Wilson fan although little league, pony league, high school, always loved the A2000 , was my favorite even over the a2k I just love the 1787 11.75 Wilson . But I had gotten a mizuno my 9th grade year as a back up glove and secondary cause I lost my Wilson for a week or two and that mizuno was the only glove I loved as much if not more than my A2000. It ended up replacing my a2000 as my gamer the following season (10th grade) and I used it until I graduated as my everyday glove .
I have a 14" Nokona all Kangaroo glove that I bought around 1982 for slowpitch softball. I am primarily a third baseman. I still use the glove 100% of my playing time. Just had it restrung. I took about 15 yrs. off from playing because of family, self employment, age. That adds up to 27 yrs of use with this glove, a lot of those yrs being multi league and tournaments. Being kangaroo it was game ready when I purchased it. It has been an awesome glove. I don't know what more you could ask for.
Twenty years ago I was reading a magazine article about Nokona. Best part was reading about low income local kids waking up to find a Nokona glove in their front yard.
Really neat gloves. I wanted one in '79, when i played college ball (d1 Wyoming), because our 2nd baseman had one, and i fell in love with it. Never bought one until now though, still playing in a 45+ beer league. Still need a neat glove for bragging rights.

I have a question about 44, I saw your video about you comparing the ex10 to the A2k and saying the A2k was better, but do you think that the ex10 44 is better than the a2000

Nokona Fan here, the reason they are so popular & expensive is because they are mostly made in America. You can be happy that the money you are spending is going right back into pockets of families who work on them. I have 3 gloves from them now including a dropped edgeX and they are great! They have a passion for American Baseball and position their products correctly. People now do not understand that American Made products are simply more expensive because of how our economy works. Great point. We have the chance to tell china to go to h--l in nov. Then you will see more mfg. here in the states for everything, and then prices will come down accordingly. Stay frosty bros.
As crazy as the price is I don’t think it’s all that dramatic when you consider what goes into making it. They are paying an American “leather expert” to put it together. It cost like 40x as much money to do that in the US than some other common countries that have glove manufacturers
@@ballglovekingI think it’s more that an edgeX is an art piece. It’s like those Wilson omaha gloves that people buy and never use em. No American craftsmanship is THAT much steeper than Japan and Vietnam. If you look at other markets like furniture, the American made furniture at least has to be competitive to other pieces of the same type. The thing here is there is nothing of the same type. It’s exotic leather and the price extortion represents that more of cowboy boots made from different animals than boots simply just made here in the US. Exotics just cost several hundred dollars more than plain leather boots

I have my original Nokona from 30 years ago. Still in decent shape for a 30 year old glove. It was kangaroo leather. I have a Bloodline Edge P6-1150. Zero issues with being flimsy. My 9 year old son is a catcher, and owns 2 nokona fielding gloves, and 2 catchers mitts (a 30" and a 32" custom.) His newest fielding glove is the Bloodline Edge, and I must say, the bloodline edge is absolutely fantastic. He loves their catchers mitts because the form to his hand quickly, and break in quickly while retaining some stiffness where it counts. That being said, EXPENSIVE. his bloodline edge was $600, and his custom catchers mitt was $850. Worth the money tho as long as you are not stretching your budget
Was never a huge fan of Nokona. I had one in high school and used it for one season and that’s exactly what happened to it. It softened up way too quick and for a first baseman’s glove taking hard throws constantly I didn’t like it. I used strictly Wilson A2000 after that for my regular glove to pitch and my first baseman’s glove.
They’re art pieces, not gameable gloves. If he’s rocking high school get him a pretty looking A2K or something. This isn’t the play for a glove to be gamed
I've been using the same nokona glove for over 20 years now. Originally bought it for baseball but I use it to play slow pitch now and I love it.

His newest fielding glove is the Bloodline Edge, and I must say, the bloodline edge is absolutely fantastic. He loves their catchers mitts because the form to his hand quickly, and break in quickly while retaining some stiffness where it counts. That being said, EXPENSIVE. his bloodline edge was $600, and his custom catchers mitt was $850. Worth the money tho as long as you are not stretching your budget
I love my walnut nokona :(
Just bought my glove for the season from wal mart. It was $37.
Nakona is just too expensive I'd probably buy Rawlings Or save up and get a Wilson
I remember when Nokona gloves were $180 for the kangaroo skin gloves
Remember when the only people who wore dirty hippie sandals in socks were grandpas??
Was never a huge fan of Nokona. I had one in high school and used it for one season and that’s exactly what happened to it. It softened up way too quick and for a first baseman’s glove taking hard throws constantly I didn’t like it. I used strictly Wilson A2000 after that for my regular glove to pitch and my first baseman’s glove.
Bat Bro Will is starting a company?
We looked at these for my son but for $1000? Nah.... Maybe in High School if he's still loving baseball. $300 is kinda the high max for us atm.
They’re art pieces, not gameable gloves. If he’s rocking high school get him a pretty looking A2K or something. This isn’t the play for a glove to be gamed
18 years ago I bought a 12" closed web Nokona, needless to say I still use it to this day. These things are forever-gloves.
Hold up. Did he say will started a glove company? What’s happening!
No no no no, just wanting to hear what he thinks a good strategy is for newer glove brands
@@ballgloveking nope I’ve made up my mind. Wills new company is BGB baseball glove bros
