What a great little job well done! Og I would love peeling the paint off like that too! LOL so satisfying like you said! it's the little things that make jobs more fun...bravissima Alla ...love to you both xoxox
Alla we were all thinking as you lifted that white paint OH if only it was that easy for the paint removal on the ceiling !!!!!! The table looks right its beautiful
It would probably be easier to scrape the table with a palette knife. Easier on the poor knife too. Fill the holes with wood filler and then stain it. If you finish the table with a couple coats of polyurethane for protection, the table will almost be water proof.
Yes, I really miss some products here, now I treated it with teak oil - I hope it will be enough for temporal protection till the time we decide what to do with this table.
The table looks beautiful! Love all the work in the garden too. Sergi’s carbonara looked delicious. Cherie is certainly comfy and happy whether she is outside or inside.❤
When you are finished treating and staining the summer kitchen table, I’d put a glass top on it. Or a very thin marble top. A round table would look nicer though. Just my thiught, lol!
Wow the person that painted the table thankfully had no clue how to do a proper job hence the paint coming off so easily. Definitely a little love and talent will make it beautiful again.❤
The terraced gardens are looking very pretty at yours. Oh wow! That is very satisfying watching you just pick off that paint 😁yummy that pasta looks define you lucky thing enjoy your lunch 😋
The table was being preserved by the white paint coat 🧥! Who knew? It is just what the summer kitchen needed. The garden is just reminding you that it needs your careful attention all year around. Little lavender shoots are like pretend spring.

Your garden is amazing & the table does look better “au naturel”. What kind of feedback are your neighbors sharing about your garden? Wormwood treatment tip: Buy a syringe with needle, inject those holes with Xylophene, wrap with plastic wrap for 48 hours, then fill holes with wood filler. You want those pests gone for good!
I am not sure yet if I really need to wrap for 48 hours, as it's concentrated xylophene suitable even for just spraying on infested wood. Seems to me like an extra step as I saw one fly fall dead just after flying near freshly treated wood.
Well done on that table!!! I agree, the peeling of that paint was so very satisfying! So sorry you have such woodworm problems there! But now I am looking forward to seeing you set that lovely table all up for a special meal! I cut my lavender all back a month or so ago, now I want to go out and check for new growth! It amazes me how your flowers and plants are so much the same as ours here in Eastern Washington State! Gaura has always been a favorite of mine, lavender, and Echinacia, (like large dark pink daisies).
The table looks better... but, I have always pictured a rounded table for that spot. It would fit better in the space and help the flow. Maybe you could use the rectangular table in another room inside the house?
@@sergio.i Did you find that it was necessary to reapply it every 6 months? Or it was an imaginary requirement? I also used a tung oil on my wood and really liked it but run out of it
@@1260Galina hm, I am not sure that you need to reapply teak oil it that often. As I understand the process - the oil polymerizing into bigger chains, and slowly drying, providing efficient conservation of wood for much longer period of time than it looks "wet". So after 6 month it will look dry and grey - it's normal, but the fibers will have organic wax and oils which will "sanitize" it and keep wood safe against any possible wood diseases, or bugs.
The table and the garden are looking really lovely! Could you tell us what you used to treat for the wormwood? I've got a nice table with a similar problem.
Not sure why you cant put a sheet of plastic down or drop sheet when oiling items on your new outdoor flooring. It will end up stained and ugly looking.

Totally agree. I wish we have a nice round table. We will look for one.
You need a podcast!
I love to use a linseed oil on a wood exposed to a moisture. It penetrates upper wood layers and it is easy to retouch without a stripping
It was a teak oil
@@sergio.i Probably it is even a better choice because a teak oil drys faster and also a very resilient finish.
@@1260Galina Last year I bought 20l on sale as we have a lot of old wood and furniture everywhere, really like it.

ughh. this year's weather is something crazy...
Very enjoyable blog today!
Could your husband make you some more of those metal stands for your veg garden? You did mention they needed them
yes, I will make more, but we have a really long "to do" list
