Hey everyone,
the „Everyday Dialogues“ series has been online for almost a year now. During this time, you guys have provided me with your valuable feedback - mostly words of appreciation and encouragement, which I am genuinely grateful for. It means the world to me that you enjoy my project and appreciate my hard work. But the series also contained execution flaws, which we discovered together along the way. Some of them were small things, like a couple of typos here and there, but there were also things, that I just couldn’t turn a blind eye to. The UA-cam spacebar blocking the subtitles when pausing the videos was one of the aspects that I simply had to correct. And because I decided to take the time to do that, I have also tried my best to improve all the other parts that you have suggested in the comments. Just in case you were wondering why all of a sudden there’s 25 new videos on my channel, now you know. Thank you for your constructive criticism and for helping me make this series better!
Be happy! ♥
Bless you for your hard work and enthusiasm, Nico! You really are an amazing and creative teacher, and I've learned SO MUCH from you! Thank you♡
Nico thanks for explaining all the recent reuploads I knew I had seen these vids before so I was wondering what was going on.

Hallo lieber Nico,
Thank you so much for doing a great job in the promotion of your lovely language and culture. Please, keep up the good work. Congratulations!
I was wondering if you could consider keeping the complete collection of videos up and replace them slowly as you can. I find that even if they contain flaws, they are of invaluable benefit (at least from a phonetic perspective). Anyway, it is just s suggestion. Thanks from Canada.
Bună, vreau să vorbesc fluent limba română pentru că am nevoie de o muncă necesară în domeniul turismului.

I've just started learning romanian , lots of love from Mexico, mulțumesc! ♡♡
Have 3 days learning Romanian, I am old (65 years old) kind of hard to remember words but it is a good exercise to keep my mind sharp. Love your channel. Take care.
Hi! I think this is a very useful activity for keeping your mind sharp, as you said)) I'm glad to help you with your Romanian language if you want. I'm a native speaker, and I really would like to teach it. So just give me your instagram (mine is @pavel.moraru2) or reply me to this comment with a way we can get in touch.
Nico, you're awesome! The fact that you were willing to take down 25 videos in order to correct and improve every single one of them, shows how dedicated of a teacher you are and how much you care about your students. This must have been some insane amount of work. I want you to know that I highly appreciate everything you do and all the learning materials you've made available for free. Thank you!
I agree. I have the book and these Everyday Dialogue videos are invaluable. Thank you to Nico for all the hard work.
Such a unique and beautiful language, painfully underrated by language learners
I think Romanian is an underrated ranguage.
There are simply not a lot of people who speak it. Many languages are underrated
Bune seuia maijuneskumijonesku
Underrated language?
@@fallenangel9716 it's spoken by 34 million people lmao
@@szecr Spanish (The most spoken romanian sister language) is spoken by 450 million. Literally 10 times more people. Yes Romanian IS underrated. And that's really sad. Is a beautiful language
Romanian is a beautiful language and am in love with it,trying to learn it.Am African it's not easy but I will like to speak it fluently soon .
I'm romanian , but I just have interests around the internet to see, if people like us romanians or not.
I am not Romanian but I am trying to grasp the basics of it. I am Italian by birth and , as far as I can see, I do not find Romanian so difficult because it is a latin language. Some vowels sound like those we can find in Portuguese and in some dialects of South West Lombardy, which is a region in Northern Italy and I live in South West Lombardy.
Moreover I am a polyglot and I can speak Russian as well. 10% of Romanian words are of slavic origins.
All in all, it's a very good channel from which I can learn the basics of Romanian.
Me too😂I am just looking for this kind of videos to see if people are interested in our language.I am actually surprised to see how many people want to learn Romanian. It makes me really happy
@@anku7706 hi! I am from Mexico, and i Love your language, It Is beautiful!
@@karinacorona5850 Awww thank you,I'm so glad you like it!💕
I have been bucharest recently i can say i love the language the way it sounds . I am defiantly interested in learning it
dude, it's really similar with italian, i'm brazilian and i didn't know that romanian was a romance language, i thought tha was more like russian, i don't know why. I'm learning italian, so i will probaly try to learn romanian too, i love the romances languages. Romanian is such a beautiful language and i didn't know.
No one knows we are latins..😔
@@mariusstefan7214 Yeah, Romanians need to have a national campaign to start saying “Si” instead of “Da” lol
@@vikingsailorboy a new theory of the word “da” say that may come from latin “ita” = that’s wright. Nobody knows for sure that we borrowed “da” from slavic languages, but still we have almost 70% latin words so I don’t think we are slavic for say “da”
@@mariusstefan7214 ehh “da” is Slavic man. And that’s ok! It was simply adopted by Romanians because all the neighbors say “da” and that makes it easier for historical trade. Romanian is overwhelmingly Latin, but as you know has Slavic borrowings - like Portuguese/Spanish with Arabic, and French with Celtic and Germanic. Unfortunately when foreigners hear the simple and common word “da”, they default to assuming it’s a Slavic language. Do you think it would be weird or very unnatural for Romanians to start voluntarily saying the word “si” for yes?
You're the best Nico!! I'm brazillian, I really love romanian, I started learning recently on duolingo, but nothing was so useful for me as the content you upload here in you're channel!
Que interessante, também são brasileiro. Pq esta aprendendo romeno?
i'am really happy to hear that you like my country😄
Dear Nico! You're my favorite Romanian teacher. Thank you for your creativity!

Thank you for this excellent resource, which I discovered only this week; I am an adult and just started studying Romanian seriously this year. Mulţumesc!
How is it going?
Thanks a lot Nico ! I am from Slovakia, living currently in Romania and trying to pick some Romanian - :) Your videos really help !
Good for having a leisure. A quality time. Worth spending.
I LOVE this series! Thank you so much for creating it, Nico!
Thanks you so much.
Finally I found the best Romanian lesson for beginner! Merci mult! 🧡❤🧡❤
Grato pelas lições, comecei a estudar romeno há um mês e seus vídeos têm me ajudado muito..
Recunoscător pentru lecții, am început să studiez limba română acum o lună și videoclipurile tale m-au ajutat foarte mult.
Your videos remind me a lot of preschool and elementary school. I lived in romania all my life, but i always had trouble with learning the language, mostly thanks to being a lazy and uninterested child. I speak only Hungarian and English, but I really want to learn romanian, as i feel really emberassed for not knowing the language. Your videos are really nice, comfy, and help me stay motivated.
Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for all your videos and for your dedication to spreading this beautiful language
Love learning Romanian with you Nico you make it fun.

Vă mulțumim pentru oportunitatea de a învăța limba română și pentru munca excelentă. Acestea sunt primele cursuri pe care le-am luat. orele sunt extrem de utile
Amazing!!!
It's really interesting. I'm Brazilian and I also speak 3 languages. That's my first time learning Romanian and I can understand almost everything. How is it possible?! I've never heard Romanian before. It's cool.
sim, é muito parecido com italiano, estou chocada, eu não sabia disso. O legal é que as línguas românicas tem um link entre si, como falamos português podemos aprender mais tranquilamente o espanhol, o italiano e o romeno(que é uma surpresa pra mim), já o frânces eu acho um pouco mais difícil.
OMG THIS IS SO GREAT! You are ambitious and engaged in your work! It is such a delight to see people like you on this platform! Just a tip: when two people are talking, make them both face the audience with only a slight tilt to each other. They can also be looking from the audience to slightly near each other. It doesn't seem right when you are acting it but it works! Mersi foarte mult!
I am so grateful for this videos, they really do help learn the language in a more 'real' environment than the sterile and lifeless grammar books. Yes, grammar is important but this is more akin to how babies learn a language. They don't get taught the grammar first! That comes later to refine your broken understanding. I am so glad to be able to have a chance to slowly learn a beautiful language that evolved from the Latin of the Roman Empire of old, a state long gone but it's cultural echoes shaped my country of origin , Greece as it was part of it for a long time, (imagine my grandparents don't call themselves Greeks but Romioi/Romanoi which means Roman ) and of course shaped Romania with it's beautiful romance language. My love for the Roman Empire aside, I am learning the Romanian language to surprise my Romanian speaking girlfriend, and possibly move in the country in a few years. I almost teared up writing this, thank you once again.
Thank u just came here and stucked with lock down good to learn now
you are great - you give so much effort! I am living in Romania for 3 years now - but I don't speak at all..
You are the best as far as Romanian language teaching is concerned ❤🎉, love you and may God bless you

I have a question! Why dowe have to put "cel" before "nou"...what does this word mean?
Buna seara = Buonasera (ita)
Maybe if you have a patreo so people.can support this channel so interesting
good good
Cel mai ușor limba română 😁😁
Aș fi foarte mulțumit dacă cineva ar putea să-mi explici de ce este cuvântul "cel" sau "cea". The new neighbour - vecinul nou, da?
"cel", "cea", "cei", "cele" are often used before adjectives (or attributes in general) to help distinguish the determined nouns from other similar objects/persons: for example, here, it's the NEW neighbour we're talking about and not some other random neighbour, so, "cel" simply makes everything sound more specific by stressing the fact that the neighbour is new. Of course, you can just leave it out and the meaning of the entire structure won't be affected that much, but I felt it sounded more natural if I used it and so I did. 😉
@@LearnRomanianwithNico Ce onorat sunt de a primi un răspuns de la tine, Nico! Am înțeles explicația, mulțumesc frumos!
@@LearnRomanianwithNicoI'm a romanian, and i can tell you I find it more natural to say "cel" like in the sentence

The subtitles are too fast the dialogue is too fast as well why!!!!!!!
Dude, you can always pause the video to read the subtitles and rewatch it as many times as you need. Sheesh...
Try changing the speed in settings to 0.75
I thought “o zi frumoasă” meant “a beautiful day.” I don’t understand this language.

Ce zici de o cafea. Suna bine. Sorry but Suna bine is not an Romanian expression. Rather '' cum sa nu, mi ar face placere". Suna bine is just translated from English and is understandable and used by teenagers who are very interested in learning English.
Can you please tell me on what evidence is your statement based? The verb „a suna” can be used in a figurative sense to describe how something sounds to someone and „a (nu) suna bine” or „a (nu) suna rău” are commonly used expressions in contemporary Romanian. I can’t really find anything that supports your claim, so, if you could please suggest me an article or a linguistic study, I would really love to read more about this topic. Thanks!
Hello, you gave the answer : contemporan Romanian. Unfortunately our language is invaded by all these anglicismes. I am Romanian and never heard in my town iași this expression "Suna bine" and never employed it when to accept an invitation. Yes I am agree with Suna bine exist as Romanian expression but not in this context. I give you an example : ideea pe care o ai suna bine dar ma gândesc dacă e fezabila. Otherwise : vrei o cafea? Suna bine. It's just nu Suna bine în Romanian...it do not represent Romanian language which you should teach to the strangers. I have 34 years and never used this expression and even if employed nowadays by teenagers it's because they read more in English that in Romanian and they translate they speak English translated with Romanian words. You know that often commun errors become normal things when accepted by all. Sorry if my comment is to heavy but I think we should promote to the world the original Romanian with its beautiful expressions and not the teenager jargon copied pasted from English. Lately I heard the word lokdown instead of carantina. What you will tell to you tube people? That lokdown is Contemporan Romanian... In reality is the lack of culture of teenager class which search foreign words to seem smarter and modern. Anyways I will never accept and invitation saying Suna bine cose I never heard it. I will say mi at face placere or just cu placere. This is a representative answer in Romanian. My opinion. I apologize if I ofensed you
Dear Nico, I searched on the internet examples with expression Suna bine in Romanian, I found a lot of it as you suggested but not a single one used to accept an invitation. If you find an example please issued from a reliable source please let me now
Sorry if I sounded offended - I'm most certainly not and I genuinely want to know if that expression is a semantic calque from English, because I've never heard that claim before. I've used it myself many times and it never sounded odd to me. Look, I understand where you're coming from and, believe me, I do try my best to promote academic standards, but, a language is a living organism that changes and evolves in time, as the needs and experiences of its speakers change. Many calques are so deeply rooted in our language that we don't even notice they weren't once "proper" Romanian expressions. It's inevitable. I normally try to avoid such delicate aspects, because scholars seem to have differing views on these topics and it's hard to find academic evidence to support anything. Since I'm going to reupload the revised edition of this series soon, I'll take your suggestion into consideration and avoid using that expression. Thank you for your contribution.
Dear Nico, you re totally right, a language is always evoluting. Maybe it's me who I m a little bit frustrated that our national language is changing too fast since the revolution and not in its own way (based on its roots) but in an inspired way. You re right we can't stop the future, the evolution. And here in North East of Romania we are a little bit more conservative that the south and west much more opened to the occidental and modern trends. For example when I hear the neologism "after school" I am just scared, I wondering why we weren't able to find a word inspired from our historical roots. No need to change the video, thank you for this debate and thank you a lot for understand my idea. And thanks for your lessons I subscribed to your channel. Cu multa stima,
Romanian is very similar to Italian, but sometime looks like Russian. I think that It's a mixer Both languagens.
Renata Silva no. It has nothing similar to russian. More similar to latin. Latein.
