- Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin performed a solo acoustic show at The House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ on July 10th. Joining him onstage playing guitar and providing backup vocals was Aaron Bruch of Ourafter. This song has been covered by many artists, most notably Cyndi Lauper. Written by The Hooters! Good stuff, Ben!!!
My husband showed me this a few years ago and since his passing I come back to it religiously.

This video is old as hell, but a perfect example of how phenomenal Burnley's voice really is. The guy can belt out any tune he likes and it would sound incredible. Case and point.

This is one of my darkest hours and I wish to God I had someone who could say these words to me but I have no one to turn to... so I sit and listen to Ben Burnley and depend on my music to bring me some comfort.

It's probably his personality. I have no idea how he is in person always seemed pretty cool to me. He is definitely a hell of a singer him and Adam Gontier are my two favorites. If you haven't checked out transit of Venus yet do yourself a favor and listen to it. Anonymous is probably my favorite off of it.
He’s a bit socially awkward but didn’t hesitate to take a pic with me after having a panic attack in the crowd. I was very blessed. But he stopped just long enough even though everyone was urging him to hurry up.

This is, in my humble opinion, one of the best renditions of this song. Ben's haunting voice doesn't disappoint.
you don't understand. The grunge movement spearheaded by Nirvana in the early 90s overtook the hype of music like Guns N Roses and other hair metal bands. That's what he means, and he's happy it went that way. Personally I think the grunge movement was good because it wasn't about the image, just the music. More honest and heartfelt music without the ego thrown in.

I saw this show at the HOB that night.... The songs sounded awesome, Ben was his usual personable self, and it was such a great night! I am so glad that I went. He's an amazing talent!!

I just lost a lot of respect for Ben. And why does he mention Nirvana with the 80's? Their first album was in 1989 and it was awful. Ben seems to have forgotten that Metallica ruled the 80's.

He would hate me for saying so but when it comes to bad music I thought Nirvana had awful music. They didn't have half the talent of Breaking Benjamin or Ben himself.

I was a year ahead of Ben in high school. (Selinsgrove) I’ll never forget the day Kurt Cobain died and Ben lost his mind. I saw him in the hallway , crying , screaming , punching lockers and then he left school that day. He had an extreme passion even back then. It’s so good to see people keep pushing for their dreams and succeed.

I have a friend who says the same thing...and I thought it was crap when he said it too. (Said friend has only heard Ben sing the national anthem....on video....once....) I don't want to try and follow how this logic tracks. (Might help me that I love Breaking Benjamin and I also don't like most of the music from the 80s)

Co-written by Ryan Hyman of the Hooters with Cyndi Lauper, who's version is the original, and yes, it's been covered a lot. But by artists like Boyz 2 Men and Mariah Carey. Ben and I obviously don't share musical tastes. But he did more covers in this set than any songs from their respective albums. A cover or two here or there is cool. But this was too much. Especially since he did only one song from Saturate.

I do have an open mind to other genres. From Johnny Cash to John Legend to Breaking Benjamin, I enjoy a vast array of music. I enjoyed this acoustic set until he bombarded the crowd with nonstop covers, periodically interrupted by songs from Phobia. 6 covers, 5 songs from WANA, 3 from Phobia, 2 from DA, and 1 from Saturate and BMA...all I wanted was some more BB songs.

I really like and respect Breaking Benjamin,im a great fan of him but he made a really bad mistake saying that 80'es music sucks even if he's oppinion he can't say that bands like Iron Maiden/Pink Floyd and so on suck,well ok it's a different thing if he doesn't like them but not that they suck....
I saw Matchbox 20 sing this at a bar in OKC called the Boars Head, really awesome rendition...paid $5 to get into that show and there was like 50 people or so.
