Totally agree with this video, having played a lot of these games the standouts are Jedi Academy and Revenge of the Sith. Thank you for bringing back memories.
Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are still the peak of lightsaber combat. The unrestricted movevement the aimed swings is still something not reintroduced in a Star Wars game. There are certain improvements that can be done and even Jedi Fallen Order has some cool mechanics that could work in a new Jedi Knight installment (like accurate blaster deflections only work if you block at the right moment), but the industry is too afraid to limit itself to one platform (PC) to do it justice.
You missed one, I had it way back in the day, don’t remember what it was even called. It was a plug and play with a handheld lightsaber that I can only imagine worked with infrared sensors. Pretty sure you face off against darth maul in the first level or something.
I might be missing something, but what about the Clone Wars game on the DS? I remember that having lightsaber combat in it, as well as reflecting bolts back at droids
The Original Z0 It’s not my favorite Star Wars game with lightsabers, I was only saying because they forgot to list it. My favorites would probably be ”Star Wars Trilogy - The Arcade Game”, “Knights of The Old Republic 1&2”, “Jedi Knight 1& 2”, “Jedi - Fallen Order”.
Jedi Academy was awesome! The original XBox had some of my favorite games of all time and I miss playing the Star Wars games, especially Jedi Academy and Knights of the Old Republic.
It was 2003, I was choosing hardware for my first PC (custom) that I needed for college. It was going to be something basic, for productivity. Until I managed to sit down in front of KOTOR and Jedi Academy for a few hours. I credit those for getting me into PC gaming. Although I do still fondly remember TPM and ROTS, on PSOne and PS2, respectively. I enjoyed both TFU and TFU2. Fallen Order is now in my top five Star Wars games. I'm hoping we get some kind of sequel to Fallen Order. Maybe between Episode VI and VII--New Jedi Order?
13:39 hold up you’re missing a lot here from the early 2000’s era. Jedi starfighter, the first battlefront, the clone wars, those 3 were biggins good sir
As a kid I had Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Jedi Power Battles on the PS1, I loved playing the coop Jedi Power Battles with my little brother but the RPG elements of The Phantom Menace were amazing.
My favourite lightsaber game is definitely jedi fallen order just because the graphics look very impressive it has great level design and I love the story. Also about the actual lightsaber I believe it is the best EVER solely because of all the customisation you can do to the lightsaber like changing the actual lightsaber itself or helpful stuff like increasing the damage and other things like throwing it or the action of switching lightsaber forms from 1 bladed lightsaber to a double ended one in a cool animated attack
I had the Star Wars Lightsaber arena game for my Atari. It was played with the paddle controllers. You could battle against the computer or another player. A seeker would move back and forth on the screen between you and the other player. You would move your lightsaber left or right using the paddle. The seeker would fire at your opponent using the button on the controller. The seeker would fire in the same direction your lightsaber was facing so you had to balance between blocking with your saber and aiming at your opponent. Occasionally the seeker would go on a rampage and start shooting all over the place very quickly. Once the seeker had shot a hole through the defense shield it could hit the player. You gained a point for each hit on your opponent. The first to 3 points was the winner and rewarded Jedi Master title. It wasn't the best game but it did start us in a good direction :) Keep in mind that the Atari had a 1.19 MHz cpu with 128 bytes of internal RAM and ~4096 bytes space for the games. Compare this with a current day system in 2020 that has 8 x 4000Mhz Processor, 32GiB of RAM (That's ~34 Billion Bytes), and the game size for Fallen order is about 43 GiB (That's ~46 Billion Bytes). Not even taking into account the HUGE compute power of 3D graphics cards which didn't even exist in the 80's :) It's actually amazing how good Atari games were when you take the hardware capabilities into account.
8:22 actually this is very true, that game kicked ass with the lightsaber gameplay and force mechanics. It also had an unlockable game mode that was a mortal kombat fighting style. Miss that game

93-05 saw the biggest visual leap in graphics. I remember being constantly blown away each year with new game title graphics
Jedi knight series that's all ^^
You missed Star Wars: Galaxies, the MMO.
^ yup several different versions as the game changed also similar to kotor's RPG turning but still counts
And Star Wars the old republic, he missed both MMO
He completely missed Knights of the old republic. One of the best star wars games ever. But he put some doom clone with no lightsaber combat... Stupid as fuck.
To me Lego Star Wars looks more HD than everything else on this list
I was thinking the same thing 😆
Not Battle front from WA and the last one.
Really great video and the effort put into this is evident throughout
3:20 Leia in dancers uniform winning against Darth vader with a light sabre 😂😂😂
You missed one, I had it way back in the day, don’t remember what it was even called. It was a plug and play with a handheld lightsaber that I can only imagine worked with infrared sensors. Pretty sure you face off against darth maul in the first level or something.
You should try Blades and sorcery vr Lightsaber mode . It’s the best lightsaber combat i have ever seen..
I might be missing something, but what about the Clone Wars game on the DS? I remember that having lightsaber combat in it, as well as reflecting bolts back at droids
You forgot “Star Wars: Yoda Stories”. That game had Lightsabers.
Technically, you're not wrong.
The Original Z0
It’s not my favorite Star Wars game with lightsabers, I was only saying because they forgot to list it. My favorites would probably be ”Star Wars Trilogy - The Arcade Game”, “Knights of The Old Republic 1&2”, “Jedi Knight 1& 2”, “Jedi - Fallen Order”.
3:30 Is just Takken 2 with Star Wars characters mods, dont be fooled
damn never thought I would ever see Leia kick Vader in the nuts
you see how she blocks the lightsaber with this bare hand and destroy him thats sick
I Fav Star Wars Games were: Star Wars BattleFront 2 and Fallen order
13:39 hold up you’re missing a lot here from the early 2000’s era. Jedi starfighter, the first battlefront, the clone wars, those 3 were biggins good sir
SaintsOf Knoecks that was my favourite game
15:52 Imagine your mom comes in your room with her broom/vaccum cleaner, and the visor illustrated your mom as Darth Vader with a dual light saber.
“See-ga”
That made me want to game end myself
Why does everyone hate jar jar he’s funny
I'm pretty Sure That's Why Everyone Hates Him......
of course he is funny in an annoying way...
3:10 it's Finnish (i think) and it means: Star Wars: Masters of the steel hand
It wasn't the best game but it did start us in a good direction :)
Keep in mind that the Atari had a 1.19 MHz cpu with 128 bytes of internal RAM and ~4096 bytes space for the games.
Wasn't there Star Wars: The Clone Wars From 2002 on the PS2 where you could briefly control Anakin and Mace Windu?
Forgot the gamecube game Star Wars:The clone wars.
Also rogue squadron 3
HeyThereVader There is also Star Wars Elite Squadron, with the story of X1, and X2
When you relies he didn’t include Angry Birds Star Wars
It's on phone tho which is a handheld
A DS is also hand held
@@theofficial-twilightdrough1987 soooo
U can get it on ps3
Bombastic: ready to do the evolution of lightsaber games?
Me: Thats, why I'm here
I really like impact physics in games like this: when you hit something, you weapon stops for 1/2 a second, and speeds up after hitting it again. Like in Old Republic. PLEASE GIVE ME MORE GAMES WITH THIS FEATURE!
