Dude I Always get Exited when I see you uploaded you really make me Laugh my ass off Great Job !!!!!!!!
Never change Dude... Never change...
I think you cooked and we ate 🎉
dude those animations are epic!!!
Whats the only fans name
After close inspection i have discovered that those things the ants are moving are actually little white things. Hope this helps.
I read that in his voice 😂
Me too 😂
Thanks, this definitely helps, can't believe I didn't see that myself
@@HomemadeEcosystems cuz you're not a smart biologist
My man.... would've spent way to long trying to figure it out..👍👍
The pellets they are taking out of the wood is from some termite or other wood dwelling creature who ate his tunnel into the wood, and pooped out or spat up the wood behind. This is actually good because there are tunnels pre-built in the wood so it makes it easier for the ants to dig out and it will also be faster. Judging by how dry the little wood/poop pellets look, the original bug is probably long gone or dead in the wood somewhere.
There are not termites in my country so probably beetle larvae or something
Maybe even MORE millipedes!
sorry my bad, it was me who ate the wood@@HomemadeEcosystems
tldr: its poop
@@HomemadeEcosystemsI’m curious why that is because termites exist on all continents except Antarctica.
This seems like a great way to get rid of that pesky roommate who won't pay rent, but also won't leave.
🤣 if you like ants more than your roomate, try it!
Never thought I'd be jealous of a millipede
😂
I didn’t choose this life, this life chose me. Jk.. me too
the thumbnail is LITERALLY me bro. i would love a big ant with the intelligence of a dog around my house i would name him glooby
sure but glooby would die in less than a month 😭 what you’ll want is an infertile queen ant that’ll live longer than a dog.
omg you are right damn
you mean her... :P
yeah mb on that too lmao
but why glooby? you couldnt think of anything stupider. (its a joke) 🤣
Those ants pinging those balls off the log was cool.
Yeah. I had no idea they could do that.
The plot twists, the suspense, the middle finger, you sir have done it again, you bring the whole package.
That's what she said... I'm sorry
😂
Looks like they're ejecting the millipede eggs from the ruthless, unforgivable amount of banging they did.
🤣
Way more character development in this video lmao
When I saw this comment there were 333 comments 😂😂
AntsCanada: Oh no! My aunts escaped
Homemade Ecosystems: I let mine run free
Well, aunts are terrifying, but there was also spiders.
Good old aunt colonies
@@godlikeKarthos lol
… this guy is the true creator of worlds
Ant*
9:24 theyre digging out small pieces of popcorn inside the log
that is indeed what it looks like!
I would love to see ants running around, BUT keep in mind they might move the queen outside if they like it more out there
True, I'm hoping the new log and sugar is enought to not make them move outside the terrarium
@@HomemadeEcosystems me too
Bruh casually doing insane shit
I wish this vid got 69,000 likes because you deserve it my man
Hey, the accorn ants only make their nests in accorns that already have holes in them, usually those holes are made by wasp larvae 💪🏻, also oak-galls or oak apples are usually inhabited by Temnothorax and always have at least 1 wasp hole.
Yes I know thanks! Some of the acorns I put in there had holes 😁that is also why I wonder what they are taking out the piece of wood because they don't dig in wood/acorns themselves so it aren't small pieces of wood
You sleep with your ants?
Me with a messy ass room: I'm just like him!!!
Also, their names are Bob.
THE BOB CULT!
I still think it's sawdust, just covered in ant saliva. But this also comes from carpenter ants
possible but in that case another animal or ant colony or something did that because they were getting them out way too fast to chew the wood themselves. I don't think this ant species is able to do that
@@HomemadeEcosystems they do look exactly like termite eggs tho
@@mellamanq there's a bad time to be had if they hatch
@@HomemadeEcosystems Hopefully it's just the wood being soft or 'pre comped' so to speak, and not something like termites, lol
It looks like the ants are removing old termite frass to make more room for themselves. They do that in my old house all the time.
There are no termites in my country so it is probably something else
Interesting clue for next time😂. Now I know it's not termites.
Ants and other insects actually make me uncomfortable, but your style is so entertaining that I go ahead and click play anyhow. Now I am browsing the internet for my own formicarium. What have you done to me?!?
He has ✨inspired you✨
Well... after watching one of his videos I got interested in ants too... Now I keep five colonies.
@@anamelle894 holy moly
First they conquer your room and then the whole house! All for the prosperity of the Glorious Bob Empire
Be careful with those acorns bro, don't be dropping them around any officers of the law 😂
Bed, tears and tissues. Story of my life.
😂
what is ur tissue used fpr?
😏
😂
I love the "oh woah random thing behind my door that i needed to go get!" I love that you also get right to the point and dont go on a 40 min talk on WOAH GUYS THATS COOL and then say how its cool 90 times in a row like OTHER ant colony channels
Those acorns look like the type that I have around where I live! I usually turn them into acorn bread by cracking and grinding them... If the ants are lucky they'll find a nice treat inside, as if they're anything like my acorns, about a third of them have, uh, let's say *extra protein* in them 😂 (for the Gains)
It was nice to see BOØB
Oh cool, I just noticed that you used my title for the notification for this video-- 'I sleep with my pet ants ' I'm honored, Sensei.🙏
Yes I used it for a while but people got weird over it 🤣
@@HomemadeEcosystems Maybe those people should consider why their minds go straight to the gutter when they see ants. 😉🐜
Big F for Bob the Snail in 8:11 🕯

I'm so grateful that I can learn from a biologist like you. I can now say that I learned if something green is growing from the ground, it's probably a plant.
P.S. Love the videos, please keep up the great work!
You are welcome!
i am severely disappointed that i didnt get an onlyfants link
🤣
I’m sad this guy has an onlyfans
When read the title thought he meant doing something else💀
LMFAO

edit: old title was '' I sleep with my pet ants'' was a bit too sus, even for my channel...
@@Loosgoo I KNOW💀💀💀💀
@@HomemadeEcosystems 💀
First we click the like button and then we click play😃
"Won't let them fight in *THIS* channel"... so are you making another channel for ant fight? >w>
No, that is something I will never do on this or any channel. Health of the animals goes before making content.
@@HomemadeEcosystems It was a joke, but I truly appreciate your care for your dogs! :D
Chances are what they are taking out of the wood is some type of frass(insect poop) left in the already existing túnel system made by some kind of wood eating beetle larvae or maybe termites.
There are no termites in my country but indeed beetle larvae are possible
You've helped me smile today. Keep creating and you'll always have a fan of me. Thank you!
Thank you for the super!!
"Once upon a time I was a stupid idiot" this is the relatable content I come here for
I'm no ant lover - my last rental house was literally sitting on top a several ant's nests - but I find your videos on the ants strangely mesmerising.
I like the way the ants yeet that stuff off the log.
Also, your lack of moss in the terrarium would make the ants move out. I have heard that once you have moss, you never get a loss...of ants.
True! There still is moss in the terrarium but not a lot!
@@HomemadeEcosystems Well there you go. Need more moss. 😂
Excellent storytelling and humour!
I love your videos, really hope there is no end to these. Your explanations and chit chat is just perfect and the jokes are even better.
bro the camera quality is amazing omg
It should improve soon because I'm getting a better one
@@HomemadeEcosystems these cinematic shots go hard tho
the constant upwards inflection at the end of words is fucking killing me
Millipedes are the ramshorn snails of a terrarium.
9:45 I think they are wood worm eggs
addicted to your channel
7:32 Wow, It's Tenmo Player!
Very nice video, thx!
hmmm what were the tissues for I wonder?
for the crying myself to sleep...
For watching the millipede banging
Most enjoyable nature channel on UA-cam.
Great to see you posting again
1:06 hey you said the thing. Pog my translation helped. I guess
1:20 had me in stitches. I love your sense of humor.
I don't know why, but this is easily my favorite terrarium.
gotta find that satellite nest though
I'm pretty sure it is underneath the terrarium, I see them coming and gowing there
@@HomemadeEcosystems another hint for the next video I see😁
It almost seems like something else had a nest/eggs in that log, and the ant were removing them. They looked a fit fuzzy like little cocoons
I enjoy this so much! Amazing content, best wishes to you and your future projects! 🌻
"This is where the magic happens."
Thought it was going to be about downing saucy wings at 3am in the comfort/shame of your bed. XD
🤣
My first apartment out of college had a free range ant colony.
🤣
I have see this small colony in my bedroom .. they are soo small but soo cute and interesting. I loveee too much this terrarium wow.
Humor on point as always, love the vids
TIL some ants yeet pebbles out of nesting areas
That's pretty badass 👍
Your humor is the reason I'm gonna watch all the other videos ❤
I love your videos!!! 😊
Amazing bed origami at 1:30. The ants at the end of the video are taking gravel out of the tree. If you had bothered to read On the Origin of Species, then you would know that, when squirrels manufacture trees, they will fill the hollowed interiors with gravel. This acts as a ballast that minimises the risk of a tree being blown over by the wind (which is created by owls flapping their wings). It also serves to keep down costs.
XD came for the ants stays for the comedy. Subscribed.
Welcome!
These acorn ants look nice
Millipedes have also taken over my 11 gallon terrarium. I've been releasing around 15 every day that It's been over 60°F. The snails have also taken over but they dont smell 😅
I hereby manifest a life in jars collaboration
It actually could happen because we live in neigbouring countries. However I don't think he knows about my channel
this channel is fantastic. almost makes me want to pick up Grounded again
Small funny creatures and critters
rip snail that got crushed by acorn
Bob's a badass. I wouldn't mess with him.
1:28 I feel like that was a missed opportunity you should’ve played the “ I’m secretly very lonely” clip
ooo that was a cute snail!
small balls... is probebly chued up wood for extensens. but im no biolegyst. ore do i own a dictionerey . hehe
239k subs good job! And less go for another great video
These videos inspired me to make my own terrarium
I love your videos
Bob can be free range. Bob is cool. Don't know about the rest of them though...
True, Bob is cool, I don't trust the other onces
I started making friends with a stray cat today. I named him Bob in your and Bob's honor.
Bob may be a girl, but as you said, a girl can be Bob.
That is new fern growth. You can cut back the dead parts if you want to encourage the plant.
I'm going to do that!
Now you are one of the few people to sleep with a real queen)
True!
0:39 this part had me rolling to another universe😂 great video tho
I think those things in the wood might be termite droppings. Dust off that microscope & check them out.
There are no native termites in my country so that is unlikely 😁
I have millipedes living driftwood burrows that leave lil pellets like that all over the wood. Ants are probably doing the same.
that is possible!
"As a biologist I can tell you if something green grows out of the ground it's a plant." damn near spit out my coffee at that one lol
I have also been asleep for three months and am going back to bed.
Just now learning that acorns in different places have a different appearance and I don't know if I'm okay
You have to much energy can your turn it down a bit?
Sorry
Maybe they're pulling out termite eggs?
There are not termites in my country so that is not possible
finally some lore update!
Bob the psuedo scorpion is really cool.
Moss is life
8:11 acorn falls, obliterating innocent civilian
it looks like that old piece of wood you added may have been occupied by another insect who had their eggs in there. Then the ants took over and are evicting all the eggs. I wonder what species they were.
I would think that the ants would eat the eggs.
Please don't click off. Please make a aquarium that is wierd. It means a lot
these are temnothorax ants, they have really small colonies with max numbers of around 300, they are non agressive and wont harm any other ants, they are also very hard to keep in a tank
I love them. I have two very small colonies that I raised from queens that flew last year
Do you mean hard do keep them confined in the tank or keep them alive in a tank? Because they have been doing great in there for over a year with almost no intervention of me
@@bioinvasion_ very nice, i have many ant colonies but no temnothorax yet, i want to keep them with another species together in one tank
@@bioinvasion_ I got this one by accident, I took the piece of wood with me on a walk to put in the terrarium and they were in there 😅
@@HomemadeEcosystems They are pretty much 0 maintenance lol. Their small colonies don't need much food, and in a terrarium like that they do fine scavenging death invertebrates :)
Another great video. Can't believe I read all 253 coments😂. Your fans are as funny as you are. Your videos help me relax. UA-cam is full of stressful videos. Great job
Great video!
