I have to disagree. It was hot. Very hot! I know it's supposed to be creepy and it is that too. I am sure that most if not all women would see it as creepy but I bet most men thought it was hot....but maybe can't admit it.
No from me. Came across as creepy. He looks so old and creepy next to her and she looks so young, like a daughter. His acting style is a bit intimidating and likely she didn't want to look bad so went along with it for the sake of her not losing face, looking unprofessional, despite what she says here. He should have spoken to her before it, at least to warn her he would do something not in the script. It's a pretty intimate move to just throw in.

Wow Scorsese waa so in tune w/ denero he even had similar hair. Slicked back & longer. Well if brando & his director faced charges for last tango in paris for the " butter" scene this is actually worse. U have a girl thats about 17 getting a thumb shoved in her mouth 2x & shes not told about it. In last tango brandos character rapes the 19 year old actress only on film of course & never puts butter " their" & in paris the director & actor faced charges from standards & practices b/c the actress wasnt told he was gonna whip out some butter so the eoropeans pressed charges on them for indencent exposure. People in these more modern times say brando & the director are rapists. During filming the actress freaked out & brando calmed her down saying " but i didnt rape u & didnt use the butter come on ur an actress" i have to see a doc w/ the facts again. Maybe he did swipe the butter on her for real but i know she wasnt really raped. In this Juliette wasnt told & he actually does insert his thumb. I think its gross. Meryl streep still cant stand distin b/c he actually committed real crimes against her in kramer vs kramer. He was mr method. Stemmed from brandos influence ran w/ by denero. Anyway the scene where her character dumps him wasnt " working" for hoffman so before it was shot he slaps her hard in the face. U can actually see how red her cheek is & her crying red faced is genuine. He also didnt tell her in a later scene where she wants her kid back & he tells everyone but her hes going to smash his wine glass. Ifs not a break away but real glass ok! So she could have had chards of glass hit her. Plus she wasnt prepared! So she to this day doesnt like him. His excuse was he wanted her real reaction streep says " im an actor i can act. " i think ad libs & spontaneity is amazing but not when u can hurt or actually commit assault ! Dustin was going through a divorce & custody battle so he had his own rage & method is bringing as much authenticity to the part but not at the expense or humiliation or assaulting another actor. I dont care how good denero or Scorsese are its a gross scene. If she was told fine but she wasnt & i get they wanted her genione " little girl reaction" ewww shoving ur thumb in her mouth & not knowing what to do is so nssty.
