I remember seeing a comment on this song a long time ago saying if you listen to this song as Vessel waking up in a hospital after a failed suicide attempt, and the rest of the album being the course of events that lead to that, it changes the whole mood of the album.
This album is like a showcase of II’s talent. Absolute masterclass
Super agree. Tomb should be renamed to II-mb for how much he shines on this.
Braindead, you have to make sure to watch the Offerings from II drum playthrough. Mind-blowing.
What Sleep Token do so well for me is play with light and dark, they play our emotions like instruments and invoke our humanity through their music. Even at their saddest, there is a deep joy in that.
This song gives me goosebumps almost every time, man. Even the “respite guitars” as you call them get me because they sound like whale songs (adding to the aquatic theme of TPWBYT) and it’s just haunting af. Glad you took a break and didn’t have a breakdown on this one 😅
Also, the audio levels are so much better! Thank you for adjusting them! 🩵
I can see why, the vibe of this song is so mellow and haunting! Then the heavy guitars hit and BAM, just haunting 😂 I am glad the audio was a bit better for you. I tried a few different things over the next few videos and will stick with the one that works best 😊
This is my favorite Sleep Token album
I love this album, perhaps more than sundowning. There are songs that grew on me over time, but there's more emotion and experimenting in this especially from II's drumming.

This song is in my top 5 sleep token songs. (Hard to believe I know) An excellent start to a controversial album. Many hate it and many like it. I personally like it. There are songs that don't do it for me but that doesn't make them bad persay. Savor and enjoy the more full bouquet of musical genre blending as you move closer to TMBTE. A few suggestions. 1. Listen to Hypnosis and Hypnosis an offering from II together back to back. Listen to the goat II is. 🤌 2. Be prepared for feels when you listen to Fall For Me. The music video adds a lot to the song. I would also recommend listening to messages from Vessel. These are dialogs that give more detail on his viewpoint. 3. This is more information than suggestion. With the visualizers there are denoted depth measurements and the runes symbolize fish or marine fauna. As you progress, the depth grows as if you are descending into, oh would you look at that, the *Atlantic Ocean*.
I can see why this is up there for you and I guess I will find out why it is controversial as I move through it. Unfortunately I have already recorded the reactions to the first 3 songs off this. I will go back at the end of the journey and watch the offering from II though, I will be very interested to see that!

This song made me fully realise my deeply closeted like for early Coldplay stuff. I think so much of his music, in parts, is nothing i havent heard before, but its so masterfully put together in a song, and then an album, and then a trilogy. Very cool.

This song is amazing ❤️ the last 5 songs on this album are HIGHLY underrated. Also, when you get to “descending”, Pay attention to the different vocals. I heard people say that it’s sleep singing to vessel but to me, it sounds like they’re singing to eachother. That song has really grown on me lately. Very, very good one!

I'm in the same boat! The slower songs are some of my favourites from their catalog. Makes those heavy parts feel so huge.
Your look at the drop said it all, hehe. I feel this song hits harder lyrically within the context of the full body of work to-date and musically packs a wallop live. I think you'll be pleased with the variety on this album. It seems to me that with the freedom to do a second full go at things, they further developed switchups and tinkered more with genre hopping. So it's a good midway point on the progression of what would ultimately become their signature sound on Eden. They really leaned into their quirks and made them assets.
I could definitely feel them leaning into their quirks in this! It felt like they are starting to morph into the ST I heard in Ascensionism!
I always come back to this track. It’s special.
I think lyrically the last part of this album can get everyone emotional

Hearing this song live was INCREDIBLE. I could listen to just Vessel and piano for hours. One of my favorites now.

Great start to a great album. Funnily enough, I didn't get into this album on my first listen, unlike Sundowning which I loved from from the off. In fact ,after my first couple of listens, I didn't listen to it again for a few months. Then put it on again in the background when I was decorating my son's bedroom and actually stopped painting and sat there listening instead of painting and thinking to myself what the hell was I thinking about doubting the quality of this album. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I first heard it. I absolutely love the album now!! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

This album. Definitely going from drag me under, blood sport, then to Atlantic hits me. It hits if one has ever been in the described situation. This whole album drags you in.

Good thing you were a couple days out from Blood Sport 😂😂😄 This album is great, it has all the transitions and background ambiance that they harnessed in TMBTE. As for not getting too emotional, I can understand that 😆 There are times when I'm fine while listening to them and other times where I just breakdown out of nowhere even though I know the song and thought that I'd already had my cry with it but no, that music and his voice will just grab you when you least expect it. That's the genius of Vessel!! He knows how to get you right in the gut! Great reaction today.....Hypnosis is next, Woooo!! I love that song. Ok, no spoilers. Til next time......☮✌

I just got back from a business trip and was so happy to see how quickly your sub count had increased! I think it's not due to any kind of hype around Sleep Token - you're one of the few people on YT who feels deep emotions out of music and SO many of us can relate, it's awesome. Can't wait to see your further journey and I'm glad I was one of the first 100 people who subbed.
If I may, I'd suggest checking Oliver Anthony out. A fantastic person and musician. Country music is really not my style and his most popular song is only a sliver of what he conveys. But he pulled me in within a moment. Much love and rock on, mate.

Glad you loved it, song is a masterpiece. You’ll get a kick out of alkaline. This album feels to me like the calm before a storm (Take me Back to Eden). Take that as you will, it’s still legendary.
Tomb is a lot of people's least favorite of the albums, but it has some of their absolute best songs. Atlantic is, for me, their most compositionally-perfect song, and it gets me every time.

I just found you yesterday and have been binging your Sleep Token reactions. Thank you!! At one point, you said you weren't very eloquent, but you do come across very sincere and genuine, and that is more important than lots of fancy words.
On the subject of audio levels, for me they were fine the way they were before. This one, the music was way too loud and I had to turn it down, then I couldn't hear what you said, so had to turn it up again. (But all reactions seem to go that way for me lately, no matter who I watch, so it might not be you. No idea why only I would hear it that way though.)
