The Chief looks like a comfy seat…I think they were going with a “slim look” on this one. The Chief has more of the old school look…I may rent one of those next.
I ride a 2019 Chiefton Darkhorse. Taken that bike on two cross-country trips over 4k miles each. Had cruise control set between 85-91 mph on the trip out west with the temp over 105 degrees each day and that bike wasn't fazed by the heat or the altitude at all. The bike just chewed up the miles with ease. You are accurate when you state the bike doesn't feel as big as it is, which is nice. Good vid.
It’s a beast…When I am ready to trade I’m definitely gonna take the Chieftain in consideration. Super fun bike…I already look at aftermarket stuff for them. Thanks for stopping by…I appreciate it. I’ll be riding the Road Master in January…gonna see what it’s all about.
love the look of my 2021 Chieftain DH and prefer it over the SGS as the Indian is easier to maneuver, lower center of gravity, locking bags by fob, and ride command. Agree it feels and rides smaller than most other baggers. I like that being 5'9
Interesting I guess the controls are a lot different than a Harley. I sure enjoyed watching you ride through my old stomping ground’s. Great review Sean! I’m sticking with my Harley lol 😂
I think folks who are looking to buy an Indian prefer this kind of video and general overview to truly get honest opinions from riders rather than videos that regurgitate a bunch of specs and features. Nice job Sean 😁👍👍
Good fair review UCM 🙂👍 That sucks about the stock seat. Reminds me of my stock seat on my Scout, I could only take about a 45 min to hour ride on it before it was absolutely uncomfortable. I ended up swapping it out with an aftermarket seat and what a huge difference. I really don’t understand why they cheap out on the one thing you spend the most time using, lol.
Thanks! Yeah, I felt like my checks were hanging off….it’s the same with Harley. The seats on RG and SG are hot garbage too. My ultra seat is pretty comfy for a stock seat.
As annoying as the receipt issue would be, I think that it demonstrates a higher level of quality control to make sure the next person to rent it, gets the best quality - like you received..
I bought my 2021 Chieftain new at the HYR Indian dealer. I've been to the San Diego dealership. Both are very good dealerships. I've made my Chieftain into a Roadmaster. Indian motorcycle sells everything to make a Chieftain into a Roadmaster.
I got a 2020 chieftain darkhorse and I'll be honest a big part of the reason I chose the chieftain was the look. They look awesome beautiful stance the lines are amazing. Great suspension it feels light, handles nice tons of power and torque. Actually I have no issues with the factory seat comfy as for me. Anyway really good description of the chieftain (I was gonna say review) 😎 it was honest at first I thought here we go he's gonna put the boot in. But no you were fair mate nice 1, cheers 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🇳🇿🏴🇬🇧
Indian did a great job with the dark horse editions. I route a DH Challenger last year. No, no..I ride a HD but, I’m a big fan on Indian. Thanks for stopping by!
That’s a great question! Higher elevations the air is thinner and you can run lower octane. Here’s an article that explains. www.nny360.com/artsandlife/autofeatures/altitude-reduces-need-for-octane-in-fuel/article_c3efc17d-a8c3-5f8c-ac4a-d4b1914a9893.html
Neither did I..🤣….last minute I saw the “instant premiere” option and said “Let’s try this”….I was a button pusher in the NAV…can’t help not trying the button at least once🤣
The stock seat is horrible. Pushing you too far forward. I have a '22 Chieftain Dark Horse in an Icon Color. Once I changed the seat.. it was a whole new bike.
I can definitely see that. HD is the same. I just got my 1st aftermarket seat and feels like a new bike. I think out of the 3 Indians I’ve ridden the Chieftain is my favorite. Thanks for stopping by!
@@Ucmpigs I was really torn between the Chieftain and Challenger.. but the Icon color really lured me in on the Chieftain. I've only put 2000 miles on it so far.. but I'm really enjoying the ride. Cheers..
It a fair review man.. I'll tell you the stock seat on my chief is awesome.. and the pull on that motor is insane. Glad you liked the bike man.

Thanks mate! Yeah, it’s a solid bike. Thanks for checking it out!

Ride the road master if you can. I ride a 21 RM dark horse and I love it. Decent review, good luck with your channel.
Yeah I think my next trip I’ll rent one…so far the Chieftain is my favorite but, I have yet to ride the RM or Chief. Thanks for stopping by!

Agree with all that. I like that the locking bags is standard. You have to go to CVO to get that with HD. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m sticking with my Harley lol 😂
Yeah, it’s more like Harley is different than everyone else🤣…Indian is the same as metric bikes.

Thanks Wayne…I try to keep it real…you can Google specs
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the bike. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👍👊🇺🇸
Thanks man! You too!
Good review man, when I road it, it was fun but not enough to want. Good handling and power though!
Yep, there would be some heavy mods to make it mine. The “Harley couch” has spoiled me…that automatic windshield is bad ass though.
Good fair review UCM 🙂👍

I've owned my Chieftain for just over a year doing 1000 miles a month, find it great fun to ride and very comfortable, best bike I've ever owned 🥰
Nice! I was very impressed with this bike.
Great job on a quick down and dirty overview. It sure sounds like it was a great bike to rent while in SoCal. 🏍💨🦑
Yeah…I’m no expert…just know what I like. Yeah, I think it may be my go to bike when out there. Thanks Eric!

Solid bike! RM is on my list to try.
I like the on the fly adjustable screen and instrument set up with GPS.
Yeah, very clean!
A simple nice tune with a PV3 REALLY wakes the Chieftain up!!!
I bet…it felt “Woke” to me🤣. Plenty of HP…very impressive.

Last minute…I was feeling a little crazy🤣🤣🤣
Good job on the review Sean.
Thanks Larry! I appreciate it.
Why would the engine not handle regular gas? I've ridden a lot of places in the mountain states and the Northwest and you are lucky to find 89 octane.

That windshield is bad ass never seen something like that
I know right? HD is behind the power curve on that…I had it all the way down on the back roads…only about a 3 inch shield then up on the slab…
