People forget that TD played this series with 2 bad ankles but never made any excuses, nor did you ever hear about it from him. Greatest player of his generation un my opinion!

One of the most underrated series people don't really talk about this series enough

Duncan had a solid series, but honestly this just shows how good the mid 2000s Pistons defense really was. The job the Wallaces did to him was unlike anything I’ve seen at his peak. Still averaged 20 and 14, just much less efficient.

As much as I love Duncan and how he was still very great this series and many others finals series, this Finals MVP should have went to Manu Ginobili.

Hell of a Spurs team. But i keep thinking of Joe Johnson breaking his face on the dunk. One more weapon for Nash, and it could have been different.

@@31olegna none of those guys hof status exist without him. He made the team not the other way around. U don’t build a great team without the center piece to make it work. That’s like saying the body is more important than the heart. Tell me how many titles they win with no Duncan? I doubt very many. All u need to see is the 2003 finals where he absolutely carried them putting up historic numbers to dispel all that shit u just said. Those guys complimented him and elongated his career. But they don’t determine how impactful or valuable he was as a player. The numbers tell a different story. And the accolades do to.

@@justsayin669 Duncan= Better Teammate Better leader 5x champion more defensive teams, he also won playing on 1 team his entire career, won in 2003 without an all star, the only reason his numbers don’t jump out at you is simply because of the team oriented system he played in

@@TheKing-pq3iv Not really. LeBron has at _least_ played SG in his rookie season (and, according to Basketball reference, he's officially a PG since last season), while MJ played at SF for the his last two seasons in Washington.
Tim Duncan has only ever played at PF or C, so Duncan and LeBron's playstyles differ _a lot more_ than LeBron and MJ's.
