O’Shea Jr is one of the most down the earth celebrity kids. I’ve never felt like he was in his pop’s shadow. I was just amazed at how much he looked like Ice Cube. And he has taken it farther than his pops could ever imagine. This dude is in Star Wars!! That’s a big achievement.

For those that don’t understand the Irish reference. A lot of black Americans have Irish ancestors because the Irish famine around the American civil war time. Basically the British starved and stole Irish land, said they owed back taxes to the British and forced Irish to leave their lands with forced indentured servitude (slavery). The difference being a piece of paper that said their slavery had an expiration date. So the black Americans and now Irish Americans worked in the fields, created families and black Americans adopted a lot of Irish culture because their ancestors are in fact Irish slaves. But I’m sure you all knew Tyrone is an Irish name right?

In 1977, Carrie Fisher landed her second movie roll when she did Star Wars. She did alright after that, but has never shied away from her parental heritage of Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. After her parents split up, her dad married Elizabeth Taylor making her Carrie’s step mom for a while. Carrie was still 19 when they filmed Star Wars and there are a ton of interviews with Harrison Ford and Mark Hammil stating that she was a confident lead character on set, mature beyond her years due to her upbringing. I see a little of that in this interview with O’Shea. He seems super grounded in both acknowledging both who he is and where he came from. I’m looking forward to seeing his career flourish. Great interview!

It’s not just being a celebrity son it’s also carrying the same name I’m 4th generation with the name and have no son so I understand there’s a mystique about the prestige of being an individual with the honor of given the name of your father as well as the responsibility of improving the name and not embarrassing the name

This dude and Stephen A's nephew put such a positive and fun spin on the nepo shit.
And he is absolutely right, any raggedy ass town has the "rich" folk that are full of nepo babies from the tire shops to construction to logging to literally every business.

I usually have a general disdain for nepo kids but he seem like a genuinely down to earth good dude. Unlike many others that grew up with famous parents. I feel like Ice cube raised his kids different than say will smith. I don’t know but I’m just saying it seems that way. Good job Cube!
