That movie was gripping and made intelligently! Far exceeded my expectations! I was raised on this music but to see the inner workings and how the relationships built and failed AND came together for 1 common cause was dope! Great film and I'm honored I got to live the era!!#RIP#ERICWRIGHT
Saying O'Shea is well spoken sounds inconsiderate because why is it surprising for him to speak like that. It's all to do with perception and prejudgments. We live in a world where the media portrays the black youth as loud and ignorant, but when a black child speaks in a full grammatically correct sentence and says "yes sir/no sir" it's seen as "well mannered" and "well spoken", not a bad thing but it's basically a backhanded compliment. It's like saying you speak well for people of your color. "well" automatically implies a comparison, so you're comparing his speaking to your past judgements of other people (maybe not just young black actors, but young people in general). As a child growing up people would tell my mother I was so well behaved for being so young, of course my mom knew they were really saying I'm so well behaved for being a young black child. I know this sounds like I'm ranting about race, but complimenting O'Shea for being well spoken is kinda about race.
smjai477 I'm actually black lol. He played a brash young Ice Cube in a biopic about gangster rappers... You don't think it has anything to do with that? Just maybe? Lighten up
StevelyBruckShut I wasn't saying you specifically but people in general. You're kind of contradicting yourself right here. Your point of him saying it's a surprise he speaks well because of the character he played is just proving my point of people assuming black youth don't speak proper english.
smjai477 I'm not contradicting myself at all. If a white person played a hillbilly with a ridiculous drawl in their speech, people would have the same comments about how well they spoke. It's the character

Man I did not know that was cube son! The whole time I was watching the movie I'm like "Did cube go back 25yrs?" How did they find someone who mirrored cube so well? lmao It makes sense now!! He played his dad VERY WELL!!
Just saw the movie.. Hats off to Oshea Jackson Jr. His Dad must be very proud of him. Best movie I've seen in a very long time. I'm gonna buy the DVD once it comes out. NWA for life..
Guy asks him if he had to audition when he said earlier he went through a two year process with coaches. You might want to listen when you interview someone. lol
Magnus cole no he didn't the movie only tapped for 3 months. Where in that time would he have lost and gained weight But he did lose weight for the part
I have been a fan of NWA since I was a kid. Still have the cassette tape LOL. I have been looking forward to seeing the film, and I cannot say enough good things about it.It was brilliantly made, and I am so happy to see the younger generation be able to see the true history of hip hop. And on a side note... Boy is Cube's son FINE! LOL
What an amazing interviewer... O’Shea Jr: I went through 2 years of auditions 5 minutes later Interviewer: so did you just get the part or did you audition? smh
for people who said that movie didnt show enough wait for a dvd 8m sure dre and cube will listen to fans and im very sure theres alot they cut so movie wouldnt be 3 hrs long.they will have delete scenes and a directors cut so they can make more mone
djsmileyoflasvegas I'd say it's wishful thinking if this DVD/Blu-Ray contains the Dre vs Eazy-E feud, despite that playing a major role in the story of NWA.
vh9network same here, that Dre/Eazy beef was kinda the elephant in the room that was missing from the film, for sure. oh, and of course the Dee Barnes assault, but I can understand why we will never see that in the movie lol.
That's not an accurate assumption considering most of the scenes were cut out of the script not out of the film. If you read the articles they all say only 10 minutes were cut from the movie. Only scene I heard about being cut was Dr. Dre's house fire during the pool party and a flash back scene of his brother in the fight where he got killed.
Straight Outta Compton is a great example of the biopic formula done right and not made boring. Like Cube said, it goes further and delves into deeper issues like institutional racism and police violence. It's as much a story about Compton and LA at the time as it is NWA.
What brilliant interviewing! I am taken aback about how great his line asking them important and interesting questions and kept me intrigued I wonder whether he studies and memorize what he will ask them? Just great dedication deserves great success! Thankyou!

R.I.P Eazy-E a real G unlike drake and other wannabes
Lmao drake doesn't portray himself as a G
MrNuke FTW Drake is tool. He is black just like absentees is a sex position
Pepe Ben. easy e and dead its a conspiracy. . hes actualy living in cuba with tupac and taking turns on left eye with him
Andrew Gurnett Easy iz just livin in cuba playin some battlefield 1 wit snoop dogg
Drake is okay. Not as good as N.W.A., The Notorious B.I.G. or 2Pac, those are the classic rappers!!!
Two wonderful actors. So great to follow in his dad’s paths.
Damn his son is gorgeous!
my sister thinks so too
you want the ice diughhh😂
+SirDrastic® DACHIE DACHIE
***** you have no right to speak with that shit English of yours.
***** i like how you commented and then I didn't even reply, then 14 hours later you come back to reply again. Pathetic
While watching this movie, I kept wondering how did they even find someone who looks SO MUCH like Ice Cube.. turns out it's his son 😂😂
That movie was gripping and made intelligently! Far exceeded my expectations! I was raised on this music but to see the inner workings and how the relationships built and failed AND came together for 1 common cause was dope! Great film and I'm honored I got to live the era!!#RIP#ERICWRIGHT
Straight outta compton is a masterpiece. One of the greatest films of all time
Saying O'Shea is well spoken sounds inconsiderate because why is it surprising for him to speak like that.
Or maybe people are just surprised a young man presented himself eloquently... nothing to do with race
StevelyBruckShut I mean in the eyes of someone who may not be faced with racial issues often maybe not but to those who do it is about race.
smjai477 I'm actually black lol.
In the movie does it mention Ice Cube writing all of Easy E Songs?
Yes
+DBZchris741 Like 4 times right.
The early shit yes Cube wrote his lyrics after the split no, so how you can say he wrote all his lyrics is total bollocks ps plz check out some of my Eazy e remixes on my channel /watch?v=FaFhZPLfKGc&list=PL19A58CC221B94FAC&index=1
Well some of the stuff he wrote too, after the break up he even said it in an interview..but i totally agree with what your saying tho.
+Tierman Beats he didn't write all of eazy's songs. d.o.c. and ren contributed as well
The movie was so good. Definitely had tears in my eyes at the end.
Very true statement made. From Orange County California straight outta Comptain. N.W.A. a few years ago.
Man I did not know that was cube son! The whole time I was watching the movie I'm like "Did cube go back 25yrs?" How did they find someone who mirrored cube so well? lmao It makes sense now!! He played his dad VERY WELL!!
You couldn't tell? They look just like eachother, especially when cube was young, his son did a great job
Nina Bonita True lol. They look like twins
+Nina Bonita
lol girl you crazy :P
+Nina Bonita same here
Just saw the movie.. Hats off to Oshea Jackson Jr. His Dad must be very proud of him. Best movie I've seen in a very long time. I'm gonna buy the DVD once it comes out. NWA for life..
Guy asks him if he had to audition when he said earlier he went through a two year process with coaches. You might want to listen when you interview someone. lol
His reply was that he had 2yrs of coaching before he auditioned so the answer was a given (IMO).
+Mike Killagreen Interviews are often cut down so they never rely on previous questions answers. It's a showbiz thing, sorry if you are clueless.
this guy had a great opportunity for a great interview but the way he transitioned from question to question was shit, no flow
There's a lot of kids who end up looking like one of their parents-- but damn, Ice Cube's son looks EXACTLY like him. Crazy.
He lost a shitload of weight for that movie.
Victor Liedholm Yeah, but he also gained weight throughout the movie as years went on in the story.
Yea he was chubs
+Magnus cole Ice Cube wasn't always big, LOL
Magnus cole no he didn't the movie only tapped for 3 months. Where in that time would he have lost and gained weight
But he did lose weight for the part
What? You're not even wording what i said correctly. But you can easily gradually gain weight over a three month period lol.
Did the interviewer really just call the other nwa members his band mates lmao.
They where a boy band, that pretended to be gangstas
@@thereisnopandemic you act like they ain't had to grow up in the hood
He asked good questions!!!!! This is a good interview!!!!
Cube's son, along with all the others, had outstanding performances. I hope they all go on to successful careers.
Cube will never be gone as long as his son his around! Wow!
LOL
Cube's son's performance in straight outta Compton was just mind-blowing.
Ice cube is a saga, y'all spit saliva and I spit lava
HOYT filmz
If i sell little crack

Also 50 Cent
When it comes to 24 year old O'Shea Jackson Jr..............Ice Cube......you are the father!
Cube and his son looks just alike he looks like his mother too the perfect mixer of both parents
What an amazing interviewer...
O’Shea Jr: I went through 2 years of auditions
5 minutes later
Interviewer: so did you just get the part or did you audition?
smh
0:55 realize how he left out dj yella and MC ren
Yeah I noticed that, they don’t get the recognition they deserve
for people who said that movie didnt show enough wait for a dvd 8m sure dre and cube will listen to fans and im very sure theres alot they cut so movie wouldnt be 3 hrs long.they will have delete scenes and a directors cut so they can make more mone
Yeah F. Gary Gray said there would be like a four hour directors cut on DVD
djsmileyoflasvegas I'd say it's wishful thinking if this DVD/Blu-Ray contains the Dre vs Eazy-E feud, despite that playing a major role in the story of NWA.
SWoollen97 four hours LOL holy shit, I'd love to see that.
vh9network same here, that Dre/Eazy beef was kinda the elephant in the room that was missing from the film, for sure. oh, and of course the Dee Barnes assault, but I can understand why we will never see that in the movie lol.
That's not an accurate assumption considering most of the scenes were cut out of the script not out of the film. If you read the articles they all say only 10 minutes were cut from the movie. Only scene I heard about being cut was Dr. Dre's house fire during the pool party and a flash back scene of his brother in the fight where he got killed.
love how he lets his son talk without interrupting proud daddy
"police brutality is very much the news these days"
Ice cube's son look more like ice cube than ice cube
Hahahahahahahaha
+reempinkcharms lmao
+reempinkcharms that was funny bro Lmaooo
+reempinkcharms lmao
The curl.....🎁 Jesus
Straight Outta Compton is a great example of the biopic formula done right and not made boring. Like Cube said, it goes further and delves into deeper issues like institutional racism and police violence. It's as much a story about Compton and LA at the time as it is NWA.
What brilliant interviewing! I am taken aback about how great his line asking them important and interesting questions and kept me intrigued I wonder whether he studies and memorize what he will ask them? Just great dedication deserves great success! Thankyou!
*now I know were ice cude son got his laugh from*
Sad thing is he is right. Nothing has changed. The corrupt cops are still there and need to be held accountable and taken care of. Not all cops are corrupt but the ones that are need to be released from their departments.
His son looks like drake😂😂
more like his dad And lil bit like Drake lol
he looks nothing like drake
Kendall Robinson yeah nothing like drake does look like his dad though
Kendall Robinson Dumbest thing I've read this whole year. Idiot!
Kendall Robinson Take another look. He looks like his dad.

Our art is a reflection of our reality...... POWERFUL..
Props to the interviewer he asks good was questions
Damn, O'shea! I know you don't remember me but we had math together in 7th grade....or 8th, in portola. Its charlie aka Charlo. You gave me your super mario sunshine cause you didnt want it anymore. Glad to see you're progressing in the world! Keep it going and much luck to you and your career!
+ChiliWilly16 Well damn, that's was cool you got to know O'Shea back then. Was he a close friend or just a cool classmate you hung around here and there?
