    Hi Dr Daf, thank you for sharing. I am a School Psychologist in Texas and I totally understand, this is my 7th year. I look at it as saying yes your child has a disability but that does not limit them. I interview so many mothers and fathers that have generational patterns and understand that is what it is. I also try and encourage them because they have different experiences than I do and know it’s a process. I have had parents that are diagnosed with mental health issues themselves. In this situation I still try and encourage them and I think it gives them a little hope and I know God has to do the rest. I think we all need a little encouragement and I pray that is what I am for them. ❤

    this was nice to listen to 🥰 I love being able to have some insight to your life behind the scenes it’s very interesting! It reminds me of my insurance counselor, she is so helpful and you can tell she is passionate about helping us. Her biggest frustration is her boss telling her she only has X amount of minutes to speak to us on the phone when a lot of cases are very complicated and require more time and research. I love that she never rushes us

    Dr. Michelle, I have been a long time silent watcher for years, but had to comment on this video. As a licensed marriage and family therapist who ultimately walked away from her career (in the practice sense, as I still maintain my license) to become a stay at home mom, I appreciate this video so much. It was very encouraging and put words to many of the reasons I walked away. Praying the Lord continues to guide me, as my children grow older, to use my education in a way that will ultimately help in the building of His Kingdom.

    As a fellow psychologist, I definitely hear you! We have very similar educational experience. I got my bachelors in pysch with a minor in sociology. I went through so much in my specialist program thats i cannot even explained here. So much so that i wanted to drop out every semester. Then, when i got in the field, i hated it even more. I couldn't believe it. All this stress and im still not feeling it. But God finds ways to remind me this is exactly where He wants me. I love these kids so much. They are my battery and my inspiration to keep fighting for them. Because of that, i will keep pushing for now. I could say so much more but ill leave it here. I have not planned what will come after this as a new and young psych. But i appreciate hearing from you and what could be next for me! Thank you for sharing!

    Your story about wanting to quit the public school system is what I am going through right now. I am a third grade teacher and love teaching mindfulness because I am someone who really came to understand what that means and the power it has. You seem to have the same gift. People like you and I are so needed in the public school system, but it becoming such a bleak depressing place to be. That is really scary. You should do public speaking at schools to help give your light to the culture of these schools who so desperately need it. It's my birthday today and I feel I came across your videos for a reason. Watching your videos on relationships and marriage came a such a special time for me as well as I am experiencing a spiritual awakening and falling in love is a part of it. Your videos are confirming this for me today. Thank you.

    idk, I was going to church for 6 years, praying daily, reading bible and I was depressed and at times wanted to "unlalive". After I stopped identifying as christian my mental health did improve drastically. Therapy helped me but I was unable to be vulnerable with someone Im not close with and that was much older than me so it wasn't as effective as maybe it could have been. I think there are different solutions for every individual but that's just my opinion. Also I really enjoyed this video, probably my favorite from you

    Dear Michelle,
    I almost never comment on UA-cam but I wanted to leave a word of support, encouragement, and gratitude for and to you. I am a stay-home-mom to a teen girl (son is grown and flown) who is attending Christian school after being homeschooled 10 years. You are an invaluable resource to my daughter (and me) for godly femininity in SO many ways. We were just commenting the other day on the beautiful growth we’ve seen in you over the past couple of years as the Lord has been doing His sanctifying work through being a wife and mother. My sister is a school counselor and she has so many of the same struggles. You have encouraged me today to be checking in with her more so she feels supported and connected outside of a very difficult role. God bless you, you are in our prayers, and we love you as a dear friend though we’ve never met.
    PS some of the resources you’ve mentioned lately are favorites of mine, and I wondered if you had discovered Voddie Baucham yet?

    I honestly feel the same way regarding teaching in schools. The amount of mental health issues that continue to arise in the students linked with their lack of discipline and respect for authority creates an unwelcoming environment. Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it because the students are under the authority of their parents and after the school day return to them/whatever home life they have.

    I notice that most Christians, myself included are struggling in these work streets. I feel like a big part of it is the push from the forces of darkness to claim industries. So my question is; How are we to take over these industries for the Kingdom of God if we leave?

    • @drmichelledaf
      @drmichelledaf  7 місяців тому

      Thank you so much darling I'm so thankful to hear that! Praise God!🙌🏾 Great question. For a while God would not let me leave. His answer was "not yet" so I had to seek Him and figure out how to bring the Kingdom of God to the marketplace. I found studying His word and praying each day led me to many different situations that His gifts of wisdom and other supernatural occurrences would take place. People would also observe my behaviors under circumstances and want to know how I was the way I was. There were many different opportunities included just carrying the Presence of God which changes the dynamics of every room. I say seek the Lord in your personal situation and ask Him how you can bring the Kingdom in it. In my case, once my work was completed He used my frustration to push me into my next assignment. I know it's vague but I hope it helped.

    I definitely agree that Jesus is the answer to everything. But I also know Bible loving, Jesus loving Christians who have to take medications for the mental illnesses, and who even have been hospitalized. I don’t think that should be made out to always be demonic. I realize that as Christians, we are not exempt, we suffer from the same plights as the world, and these include mental fatigue. But our suffering is not the same experience because we have Jesus. Lovely message ❤

    • @drmichelledaf
      @drmichelledaf  8 місяців тому +2

      Absolutely! Not every mental health issue is demonic. Sometimes there are real chemical imbalances etc. People just need to be educated on the whole spectrum of reasons and not automatically told they just need therapy their whole lives. Jesus should be introduced for reasons you stated amongst many more. Thank you for your beautiful comment 🩷
