Jonathan and Nathan - awesome job putting this together. I particularly appreciate how you edited in all the sections from the conversation about challenges / struggles and made it relevant to the particular tips and tricks! Great narrative editing. So fun hanging with you guys, hearing your stories, and sharing struggles. Until next time!! WOOT!

Thanks for this!!! Great work Methodbox I needed to hear this!
I think that second part of the first tip/question is so important, and I had never thought about it that way.
Jack asks "What is the hardest thing?"
My answer: "Finding readers." In a world where fewer and fewer people read books, especially books of fiction, I struggle to find new readers.
P.S. I love what you're doing with the text overlays as Jack is speaking.
Excellent. Can't wait to see that.
Totally. Finding an audience is the hardest part, especially going from 0 to 1. Going from 1 to 4 is a multiplication game - but that first stage of building a community from nothingness is really tough. I’ve found that the best strategy is lots of RAPID iteration on your approaches. Try one thing, then something else, then try another thing. I tried a thousand things before my music resonated with an audience. I tried touring. I tried different bands. I tried randomly messaging people on MySpace. I tried playing a show every two weeks in my home town - so many things. And nothing worked! Until finally I started covering songs on UA-cam, which lead to finding an audience which lead to me putting out original music that resonated with folks. But it took years of experimentation. Winston Churchill said “success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” That’s my journey as a musician in a nutshell.
Such a great quote from Churchill, and so true. I actually kind of want to print it out and hang it over my desk now. I also love the way you put it: RAPID iteration. I'm pretty sure I've gotten the iteration thing down, but I have never been RAPID at anything in my creative career at all. At the day job, sure. There I'm known for my speed. But I've always been so slow to adapt with my writing/publishing career. I'm getting better, but…
Maybe I need to print both the Churchill quote and the words RAPID Iteration and hang them BOTH over my desk. Thanks, Jack!
@Methodbox: If your next video isn't titled "The Spaghetti Has Landed," I'll be a little disappointed.
Love this! Great way to do exactly what you learned by putting out this video like this. Can't believe it hasn't got more views!

was just updated on this whole thing with Sargon. This comment makes sense now.
Top tip for all Patreon users:- Get out of this doomed, politically extreme company and start using a fair, uncorrupted alternative.
