    I had the rogue. Then got the sport. I do like the sport better. But sometimes I do miss having the little bit of extra space from the rogue. So far had no issues with the transmissions and they both are great on fuel.

    I drive a Qashqai. If I had to do it over, I would get the Rogue. Basically the same gas mileage, but more space if you ever need it.
    In saying that, the Qashqai suits our needs 99% of the time.

    Test drove both the 2021 Rogue SL and Rogue Sport SL over the weekend. I could afford either ... but I am going to buy the Rogue Sport. I like the fact that it is smaller. Want something to pop around town in and the Sport is easier to park and just less bulk.

      @@carsunlocked You are so much better off calling them Qashqai, than a Rogue Sport as here in the USA. Almost every time I query a dealership about their volume of Rogue Sports ... they reply with number of Rogues. Clarify the features on a Rogue Sport SL? They send me Rogue SL details. I find that most Nissan dealerships near me aren't even aware that they sell Rogue Sports. Much better if they had their own unique name.

    Enjoyed your review. I just came out of a 2017 top-of-line Rogue into 2020 Rogue Sport SV. I loved the 2017, but price was a factor this time around. I don't often have back-seat passengers, so Sport as is is fine for me. I needed enough cargo space for my large dog carrier, and that fits in the Sport. There's more "pep" in the Sport. Handles well. Sure, power lift gate, adaptive cruise control, garage door opener on mirror, power passenger seat are all nice, but those were not hard compromises in order to get the price where I want it. The one thing I would have liked is a bigger screen, and here's an idea for all manufacturers:: how about tilting the screen just a tad toward the driver? Just sayin'. Totally LOVE the Nitro Lime! FUN!

    I just bought a 2020 Rogue Sport and I have 2 major complaints that buyers should be aware of: It is grossly under powered and I have trouble accelerating when I suddenly need to, and second, it does't have a dial pad on the touchscreen which I often need when in the middle of a phone call. If you are asked to select 1 for customer service, or 2 for the plumbing dept. etc, you can''t do it on your touchscreen because there is no dial pad. The dialpad is present on my 2018 Hyundai Kona but not on my 2020 Rogue Sport.

    • @nydeco1234
      @nydeco1234 4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, Nissan stuck a very small engine in a medium size suv. My previous car was a 2011 Nissan Juke. That was a smaller, lighter car with a smaller engine, but it also came standard with a turbo, so pickup was delightful. I cannot say the same about my Rogue Sport SV. I never put my cars in Eco or Sport mode. I shouldn't have to. The Rogue Sport is fine for local driving but is simply inadequate for quick acceleration on a highway.

      I totally agree that a turbo would be a welcome addition to the Rogue Sport's engine making daily driving much more enjoyable, but Nissan is the one that needs to install the turbo, not the owner. I've no doubt that Nissan put the car through various testing and realized it was underpowered, but they released it as is. Just look at the engine specs and compare it to similar vehicles. Needs a turbo or bigger engine.

      @@carsunlocked I'm not sure that I wanted AWD, but my Sport has it. It feels good and I think it's fast enough but I'm saying it's a 2 liter engine pushing AWD, now the regular Rogue is FWD and it's 2.5 liter like you said and 170 HP. It's Front Wheel drive and it's applying that amount of power to the front wheels only. I'd say these vehicles are very different. The Rogue Sport applies 141 HP to 4 wheels, but it's quite a bit lighter than the FWD Rogue. I get why you personally chose the Rogue, but really it's because it's bigger. You did say that, I think I still like the Sport more and that's my choice.

    My Hyundai Elantra 2014 developed a piston slap for which Hyundai engines are know for. I got it diagnosed and the case was created. However, Hyundai Canada denied a replacement engine because my car was a salvage titled and then rebuilt. I read the lawsuit and it mentions Hyundai Canada in not bound to repair rebuilt vehicles. So for me I lost the car. Then I started looking for Honda Crv, Toyota Rav4, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX5.
    After researching issues with all the cars above I decided on Nissan. Crv is having oil dilution problems in 1.5T engines and Honda is brushing that under carpet. Toyota is over hyped. To get same features pay over 8k Cad$ more, also they have issues with plastic rattling inside the cabin. Mazda was a bit expensive but it's 2.5L also has connecting rod risks due to cylinder cut off system.
    Nissan carries CVT issues with most people blindly forwarding others advice. I researched and found the cvt has 2 filters. Which very few people know. They should be replaced almost every 50k kms along with cvt fluid. Never ever treat transmission as life time device. Oil should be changed. Specifically in Canada where weather is harsh. 5 of my friends have Nissan Altima, Sentra, Rogue and none of them ever had issues.
    I actually went to buy Qashqai because I wanted to limit budget as I lost a bit of money on my Elantra. However, Rogue was only $40 per month more than qashqai on a 5 yr lease which is hardly cad$480 per year. So I booked Rogue special edition 2020. I agree rogue is bit sluggish compared to qashqai, but I am a sane driver who maintains right speeds and knows what my car is talking to me. If you listen carefully your car talks to you about its health and wel being. If you understand it, you will know when to speed up, when to brake, when to roll, when to stop and how much to Rev.
    Moreover, don't just rely on mechanics to maintain your car, learn basic maintenance and keep checking fluid levels, wear and tear, noises etc. Also whenever you get your car serviced, inspect at the dealership before signing and paying. Check oil level, color of oil, parts where work performed. It will give you hint if work has been done correctly or not. Remember, you can't fool someone who knows what he is asking for. Don't be a fool. Be smarter than mechanics and dealerships.

      Honda and Toyota Canada are also in the same boat. Read the reviews of Honda and Toyota dealerships. They behave rude as if they got the money, now to hell with customers.
      Honda dealerships do not even answer phone calls, don't respond to you properly in the showroom, think you as an ATM, get the cash and throw the receipt in the bin.
