I was so bummed when Netflix cancelled this. I still listen to this soundtrack and watch the show every Halloween.
Literally, most the songs are a permanent addition to my actual playlists. Only other series I do that with other than this one is Carole and Tuesday and Hazbin hotel

- Indeed the villain has an amazing voice (Cheyenne Jackson is such a good performer) and you will love and hate him.
- Yep it's when they were alive. To give more context: they were four in Sunset Curve but only three died. So there's three phantoms. And it was a rehearsal but there was one spectator: Julie's mom when she was younger. (It's not said that it's her explicitly in the show, but there's many hints to let us know).

Julie and the Phantoms is one of my favourite tv shows. Not just for the music but for the story and the chemistry between all the actors. It's amazing and I hate that Netflix cancelled it because of how good it is and with a couple different cliffhangers. But even that way, it's still a phenomenal show and I doubt I'm the only one who would love to watch you react to all the episodes of the show. Either way, I love your videos and Unsaid Emily made me cry like bitch :)

Well that's netflix, fund the crap reaction bait and cut the stuff with the most potential and enjoyment asap, my netflix is full of stuff ended too soon or stuff that's lived long enough to become the villain. Julie is near the top of my list, that and Everything Sucks I think?

Essentially, he's showing them a giant party so that they sign over their souls thinking they will be partying forever, not realizing they will be slaves forever. Yes!! Thank you for doing another JATP video! Also yes you were right, Now or Never is from before they died and the 4th guy survived so he isn't part of The Phantoms.
And Caleb (the villain) is a ghost too. He basically runs like this super private club of ghosts (and if I'm remembering right certain rich humans in on the secret). He starts off as just an entertainer but you get more into his villainous side as the show goes on. Not giving anymore spoilers, the show is really worth watching it's so good!
The only "spoiler" is that the "Hollywood Ghost Club" is run by Caleb Covington, a ghost that when lifer was actor singer and magician. The members are the only ones alive

I'm so glad you listened to the songs of Julie and the Phantoms, I'm so upset they didn't do a season two.
The first two songs were before Luke, Reggie, and Alex met Julie
Context: Alex; the blonde ghost, Luke (One wearing a purple tank top suit and leader of Sunset Curve), and Reggie (Wearing red in Aint Got Nothing to Loose) had a really good gig. Luke, Reggie, and Alex were in a band with an old friend of theirs. They were going to play at the Orpheum but before their show they had bad hot dogs and died. 25 years ago in the show, the three boys were "summoned" by a teenage girl named Julie which freaked out because the three boys were ghosts.
To understand this I recommend watching the show.
First two? first was Nothing to Lose -- comes right before Stand Tall. Aside from that, I agree: Netflix missed out big time by canceling it.
Also adding context for Matthew Flying Solo: The other girl (Flynn) is Julie's best friend. When Julie sang Bright (...he reacted to that, right?), it was the first time she sang after meeting the boys -- they suddenly appeared on stage with her (as you would've seen). She played off the questions by saying they were holograms. Flying Solo is Julie telling Flynn that the guys are ghosts and not holograms

Cheyenne Jackson plays the ghost-demon, and he also played Hades in Descendants 3, which is really cool, as the are three other members of the Descendants cast and crew involved in making this show: The director is Kenny Ortega, who also directed the descendants movies, The girl that Julie was singing to in the last song is her best friend in the show, and is played by Jadah Marie, who plays Celia, Dr. Facilier's daughter in Descendants three, and the guy that was sitting next to Alex (the one with blond hair) in The Other Side Of Hollywood is played by Booboo Stewart, who plays Jay throught the Descendants series.
(Edit: Julie's BFF's name is Flynn Taylor)

He was the only ghost which humans could see and has some powers until the 3 boys came back from void because Julie played their cd and Julie can see them and every human can see them when they make music. The bad guy ghost is kinda jealous and stamps them when they come to his club which binds them to him. If I remember correctly. They were 4 boys before they died but one of them didn’t die with them.
The villain is also Hades on Decendants 3, you’ve already heard him before
I hope those season 2 rumours that popped up are real and we get this show back somewhere.

The show takes place after they died 8:40 the song you just listened to was before they died. Three of the band members died but 1 did not. That’s why there is four band members in that first clip. If I remember correctly that’s the first song/scene in the show.
