my favourite part is when Zac Efron looked down the camera and said “the stars have been rewritten” and swung off into the sunset on a trapeze. chills 🥲
Watching Mathew's slow realization that "Oh wait this song is actually super depressing" was kind of hilarious Basically the premise is that her husband, Hugh Jackman's character, has turned into this workaholic person, super obsessed with getting famous and successful and rich, to the point where he's neglecting his family and left to go tour the country with this opera singer
Tightrope was my least fav song at the time bc I was like 14 when it came out lol. But during covid I just kept listening to the Cs player and I started loving it and actually understanding the lyrics. Still kinda low on my rankings of the movie but I enjoy singing and signing to it now like I do the others.😁🥹
It's kinda sad that the reason he started down that path in the first place was because he wanted to protect his daughters from the bullying they were experiencing because of the circus. He was chasing the light so obsessively he became blind to the reason he started all this in the first place
Tightrope became my favorite song after I realized that 'catch me if I should fall' actually goes but to the first song 'a million dreams' when they are dancing on the roof top and she leaping around or lean off the building and he catches her everytime, she does even have to look at him. Now her husband is gone and she unsure about their relationship.
I do think pink falls into the underrated category of singers. I think she's come a long way since her early 2000's pop rock era. She was great then aswell don't get me wrong before anyone tries coming for me. But she was very this is a song i'm singing words on the page in front of me. And now she sings with everything she's got and it's amazing.
Yes! I’m going to my First Concert with my mom Saturday the 11th, and it’s P!nk I’m excited bout it and glad she’ll be the first live artist I’ll see. *plus she’ll be doing a trapeze act! 😊
I've seen her twice live and i can't recommend it enough (i know the ticket prices are insane now but hear me out) she does literal acrobatics and flies through the sky and dances while performing and you can tell by her voice that it's not a recording. and she still slays every song! and you always feel such a community at her concerts. it's amazing. people definitely sleep on pink.
Tightrope explanation! Hugh is playing PT Barnum and the blonde lady singing the song is his wife and the part in the song where the little girl is dancing and her mum is there but she looks sad is because her dad isn't there and that mirrors him watching the opera singer (who sang never enough) and applauding and the whole song is about how he's so hyperfixated on the singer that he's forgetting about his family and the original circus performers (hence why Zac Efron's character Philip is running it alone). That's also why there's a mirror towards the end where the crowd seeing the singer are throwing flowers and applauding while the crowd seeing the circus are booing. His wife at the beginning saying some people want simple lives is her saying she doesn't care how much money he makes or how big the house he gets is or how expensive her clothes are. She just wants HIM and her family and he's forgetting that
There's also a version of "Into The Unknown" from "Frozen 2" sang by Panic! At The Disco. You don't have to make a video about it, no pressure ^_^ I think it will blow your mind :D
Speaking of musicals, Ride the Cyclone is a HUGEEEEE must listen/watch Some recommendations are Talia Noel's Lament Ballad of Jane Doe What the world needs
If you happen to make another Greatest Showman video, you should definitely react to the studio sessions where they got the songs greenlit (This is Me and From Now On). If you didn't know, that's when Keala Settle landed the role because of her incredible performance of This is Me. Also, Hugh Jackman was isntructed NOT to sing because he had just had cancer removed from his nose, but he sung anyway. I'd love to see your reaction on those!
Jeremy Jordan was called in to sing all of Hugh’s parts during the demo sessions even when he was sick himself. You can see him briefly at the start singing in the from now on video. He was one of the main reason this movie got greenlit. So the fact that Hugh just referred to him as “that guy” in the blu ray behind the scenes is just insulting to say the least… He explained it here: ua-cam.com/video/08AGzOmCk-s/v-deo.htmlsi=_6MUzH08jnv4n9eJ
You could do a whole video on Disney covers (the ones in the end credits of the movies and on the official soundtracks) First, pink singing just like fire from Alice through the looking glass is amazing. Then there's: Demi Lovato singing let it go, alessia cara singing how far I'll go, Jordan Fisher singing you're welcome, Ariana Grande and John legend singing beauty and the beast, Celine Dion and peabo bryson singing beauty and the beast, Josh Groban singing evermore, Celine Deon singing how does a moment last forever, Belinda Carlisle singing I won't say I'm in love, will smith and DJ Khaleds version of friend like me, Angélique Kidjo singing we are one, Vanessa Williams singing colours of the wind, Boyzone singing shooting star, Christina Aguilera singing reflection, this is mostly just everything I could list that's already in my phone from my Disney CDs.
if the chynthia erivo version of rewrite the stars and the jeremy jordan story + medley of the entire show is not in this or any future video i'm screaming
I've listened to these reimagined versions before, I've seen the movie, and yet I'm tearing up at the "A Million Dreams" versions (both the reprise from the movie and the version with P!nk and Willow). These kids, man, they're killing me 😭😭
You really have to watch the studio versions during the rehearsals of From Now On and This is Me!!! These performances completely blew my mind! Keala and Hough just "outsang" themselfs.
You should watch Jeremy Jordan talking about how he sang/saved the Greatest Showman. Its amazing, ha is amazing. You liked his voice in the Tangled tv show.
If you're looking for more musical movies songs to react to, can I recommend the ones from Matilda: the musical? It's a pretty fun, despite some story stuff buts that's neither here not there. The musics I'd personally recommend would be: "Naughty", "School Song", and "Revolting Children". Though regardless of what order you choose to do them in, i strongly recommend listening to Naughty before Revolting Children, as you might misunderstand the meaning behind a specific line in there otherwise.
The Panic at the Disco cover is in their pack in Beat Saber, which is a really fun level to play (and of course the song is great), but recently they changed the colors to dull green and red, which is completely impossible for someone who's partially colorblind to play (like me). I wish they didn't change it, but it's at least a good memory. Edit: Update, they at least added the ability to override colors a while ago, so it's playable again. I still think they shouldn't have changed the colors to begin with though.
If you want to react to an artist then i recommend Faouzia. Her voice is incredible and her songs are good to both listen to and lyric analyse. My favourite songs of hers are: You don't even know me Puppet This mountain My hearts grave Born without a heart Tears of gold And her new one, RIP Love

I actually saw Brendon perform The Greatest Show live during the Pray for the Wicked tour, and it was so good! Genuinely doesn't even compare to the studio version
it would be great if you watched the 2 videos where the movie got greenlit, it's the 'this is me' and 'from now on' songs but it's more raw and you can feel the energy in the room
This has been my favorite movie/musical for like- ever so watching these always make me happy. Plus the covers are the best part tbh. Keep up the good work, don’t forget to drink water! Have a good day/evening/night
I love your musical reactions! You should react to music from Schmigadoon! It's got Dove Cameron, Keegan-Michael Key, Tituss Burgess, and so many more amazing people. Hugh Jackman wasn't supposed to sing cause he had surgery beforehand and there were still stitches on his nose, which could rip by singing. Well emotions were high and things happend is all I'm gonna say. There is also a version of "this is me" from the read through, also very emotional.
I'd love to see your reactions to Glitch Production's Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus. They aren't musicals, but the scores are incredible and the existential horror is great too.
Pink just seems so cool man. Anytime her cover of Million Dreams played on the radio it was a must listen, for sure. Kills it. As for Tightrope, the ads kind of covered it up, but one of my favorite shots in the movie is at the end when we transition through the window from Michelle Williams to Rebecca Ferguson. Simple but effective. Tightrope as a song is simple but Williams put everything into the performance. I also love the shadow dancing through the windows. Very clever. It’s that time again. That time where I recommend the RWBY (pronounced Ruby) soundtrack, starting with Volume 1, continues. Once again because they’re bangers. Lyric vids recommended. The Million Dreams en Rewrite the stars in these versions were pretty popular in Belgium they were played alot at a certain point (mostly on Q-music though can't speak for other stations ;) )
the first time i knew the movie existed, was because a Kesha cover of This is me, showed up on my spotify discovery...i loved it and after checking more i found out it was for an upcoming movie
My favourite thing after a long exhausting work day is sit down on my bed with a good Mathew video and a crochet project and just enjoy the evening Idee that I have 4 exams coming up. These videos have priority
I would LOVE for you to do a video of re-imagined music - there's a Panic! at the Disco version of Into The Unknown from Frozen II which is amazing!! But if you are interested, there is another musical that I would recommend - Ride The Cyclone The Musical. The two songs that are my favourites are Noel's Lament and The Ballad of Jane Doe and there is a massive range of styles of music which I personally LOVE. It would be amazing if you could do those videos? ❤❤
Well, i think that needs a t-shirt. "Unfortunately Strange" All of us are weird in our own ways, but it makes us who we are. And heck, you have all of us here who enjoy your content. You are amazing ❤
A million dreams was Originally sung by hugh Jackman, as you know and the lady who sanf "tightrope" going through how they grew up playing together and then got married. Tightrope was sung by her character after he got obsessed with work and gaining the approval of the masses that he was going so far above and beyond that he didn't realize he was leaving his family behind.
You have got to listen to Cover Me In Sunshine, by P!nk and Willow Sage (her daughter). And while listening, bear in mind that it was done in 2020. And perhaps opt for the live performance version, at that.
Acapella UA-camr Peter Hollens re-recorded the whole album on his own with his family and subscribers, I definitely recommend checking it out if you wanna keep listening to good covers of this musical
You would LOOOVE the soundtrack from the lorax, specially the deleated songs like biggering, this is the place (tricky version) and onceler's traveling madness ☝️
14:56 Don't know the context but it's possible that instead of being with them he's working. Or she was thinking of the past where he was around. 16:09 After hearing the song, I can slightly understand why.
I would love to see your reactions to more musicals in general. I think that the songs and actors from Greatest Showman are phenomenal, but it is hampered by some contrivances that I can't ignore. I absolutely adore Come From Away, Hadestown, Rent, Wicked just to name a few that I'm fairly certain you haven't heard/reviewed. Also, anyone who wants to fight me in the comments about the quality of Greatest Showman as an entire movie (bc I think it has bad writing and weird decisions that it asks the audience to accept), feel free to step up, I'll die on this hill.
i would love to see more monster high/barbie movie reactions also i think mathew would love the songs from the lightning thief musical like 'my grand plan' and 'bring on the monsters' 😁
Tightrope was her being so devouted to him beyond her witts and eyes..shes raising the girls with him way away touring with a grand songstress that is blatantly inspired and infatuated with her husband.
Well im looking this up now. I remember seeing the "reimagined" on youtube but I guess I thought it was just AI... Not the actual people. On another note Pink's actual song with her daughter? Cutest thing ever.
Hi Matthew, I would really suggest you react to Jeremy Jordan's "The Day I Saved 'The Greatest Showman'". It is his own retelling of the events leading up to the show being greenlit.
I really love the Panic at the Disco version of Greatest Show! Every time I listen to the song I imagine it’s the world of Caraval by Stephanie Garber.
I really like The Greatest Showman songs, and I like the movie too. I think it has a great story with awesome music. Speaking of music, I’m so happy that you made videos about Monster High songs. Along with Monster High, another one of my favorite doll brands is Rainbow High. There are 19 songs in total so far, and most of them are really, really catchy. My personal favorites are Look by Natasha, Click Click, Spotlight, and Navaratna, which translates to nine gems. The songs are even titled so that you know which character or characters are singing them. Even though Click Click is mostly talking, it really shows the sassy personalities of the characters who sing it. It really gives off sassy, evil twin mean girl vibes, and that is what I love about the two characters in that song. I really hope you react to those songs, or just Rainbow High songs in general. They are really good. Can you please make a video reacting to Rainbow High songs? I would love if you did that, and I think you’ll love the songs.
Two of the julie and the phantoms songs (the other side of hollywood and nothing to lose) have Cheyenne Jackson in them who played Hades in Descendants
I just realised he never actually heard the opening version of The Greatest Show, he started this series watching the ending version and now listened to the PAtD version but still no movie version lol.
If you want to hear the cover artists sing with the original singers, you’ll like the kesha cover of this is me- they just recorded her directly over keala settle’s original track 😂
my favourite part is when Zac Efron looked down the camera and said “the stars have been rewritten” and swung off into the sunset on a trapeze. chills 🥲
not gotten to that part of the vid yet but 4 sure💪”chills literal chills”
Your so right that’s also my favorite part 😂😂

Tightrope is sung by the Greatest Showman’s wife who feels like she’s losing her husband while he’s touring with the beautiful singer.

the first time i knew the movie existed, was because a Kesha cover of This is me, showed up on my spotify discovery...i loved it and after checking more i found out it was for an upcoming movie
Panic at the disco also did into the unknown from frozen
Acapella UA-camr Peter Hollens re-recorded the whole album on his own with his family and subscribers, I definitely recommend checking it out if you wanna keep listening to good covers of this musical
9:52 "this is making me so god-damn happy!😡" lol
You would LOOOVE the soundtrack from the lorax, specially the deleated songs like biggering, this is the place (tricky version) and onceler's traveling madness ☝️
If you do another one of these I definitely recommend Jeremy Jordan's "The Day I Saved The Greatest Showman"
14:56 Don't know the context but it's possible that instead of being with them he's working. Or she was thinking of the past where he was around.
16:09 After hearing the song, I can slightly understand why.
your videos never disappoint! always smile when i see the notifs ☺️
You need to react to the 2 practice songs that they did. They are amazing
YESSS I love the greatest showman's music!!!
Voiceplay has an amazing melody of all the songs in one and the video is awesome so creative ❤ you should watch it
Love your vids so much
These songs made me bop so hard my earbuds went flying across the room 😂
I would love to see your reactions to more musicals in general. I think that the songs and actors from Greatest Showman are phenomenal, but it is hampered by some contrivances that I can't ignore. I absolutely adore Come From Away, Hadestown, Rent, Wicked just to name a few that I'm fairly certain you haven't heard/reviewed.
Also, anyone who wants to fight me in the comments about the quality of Greatest Showman as an entire movie (bc I think it has bad writing and weird decisions that it asks the audience to accept), feel free to step up, I'll die on this hill.
Mathew, the trumpets were there for the WHOLE song.
i would love to see more monster high/barbie movie reactions
also i think mathew would love the songs from the lightning thief musical like 'my grand plan' and 'bring on the monsters' 😁
This video title is the realesr thing i think ive ever seen
Tightrope was her being so devouted to him beyond her witts and eyes..shes raising the girls with him way away touring with a grand songstress that is blatantly inspired and infatuated with her husband.
you should do a reaction to jeremy jordan’s video on the day he saved the greatest showman! it’s phenomenal and i think you’ll enjoy it!
Well im looking this up now. I remember seeing the "reimagined" on youtube but I guess I thought it was just AI... Not the actual people. On another note Pink's actual song with her daughter? Cutest thing ever.
ride the cyclone would be a very cool watch!! it seems pretty similar to the vibe your videos usually have and the performances are insane as all hell
Oh i was wondering why i hadn't seen it, its because it just came out
omg i love matthew’s videos. he’s always so positive and his reactions are so fucking funny and genuine
omg the flashbacks that tightrope gave me... i sang that song for my 5th grade talent show!
I had forgotten they did these honestly but I think radios etc actually play these versions most of time
i LIVE for panic’s cover of the greatest show. not even kidding, that song is what keeps me going.
Highly recommend the from now on reimagined version. It’s my personal favorite on the soundtrack
I think you should listen to some Brendon Urie live vocals!!
He has an incredible voice and I think you would really love it.
Pinks a million dreams is one of my favorite covers also Please do more Heartstopper!
You should one hundred percent listen to the greatest showman cover from voiceplay, it's amazing and entirely a capella!
I stg the title is what sold me to watch this right now and not later because- *slams table* -MY LIFE..
YAAAYYYY LOVE THE GREATEST SHOWMANNN
If you want to hear the cover artists sing with the original singers, you’ll like the kesha cover of this is me- they just recorded her directly over keala settle’s original track 😂
Can we just have a reaction to you watching the whole movie at this point???? Haha
“Is that Brendan Urie?” 😂 And our bro doesn’t look at the video’s photo which clearly says “Panic! at the Disco.” 😂
No, DONT end. DONT!!
I wish you could do Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyle's covers, they're so so good
If you like Brendon doing “Greatest Show” you should hear him doing the offical music vid for “into the unknown” from frozen 2.
Pink also sings in happy feet 2.
