Meet Our Doc: Karrie Villavicencio, MD, Fetal and Pediatric Cardiologist

From a young age, Karrie Villavicencio, MD, knew she was destined to become a doctor. The question wasn’t whether she’d pursue medicine, but rather what specialty she would choose.
During her residency, she joined a pediatric cardiology clinic, which ignited her interest in working with children and families. As a fetal and pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Villavicencio spends a lot of time with her patients, oftentimes meeting them before they’re born. From birthdays to graduations, she says it’s rewarding to watch her patients hit different milestones, which is just another reason why she loves working at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
“Working here is an honor and a privilege. I love walking through the doors each day,” says Dr. Villavicencio. “It’s a wonderful experience because I know that I’m going to help some patient that day.”
