This is the third piece in a row I've listened to by this composer and I have to say the imagination is absolutely incredible. Most contemporary composers stray so far from everyday listeners and I truly feel this person knows how to keep people grounded in the familiar while bracing them for an expanded horizon.

In the final movement how is the second violin supposed to play a g and a c# at the same time that’s a 12th and considering it goes to an e flat, impossible to play

at around 10:00, the second violin gradually detunes their A string down to a G, so for the rest of the piece, that open string sounds as a G.
