I was very surprised that you have not done a reaction to Nightwish ? the Wacken 2013 concert is a Gold mine of incredibly amazing music ,the whole concert is considered a seminal event, consider that some reactors have over 2.7 Million views on just one reaction to Nightwish , songs like Ghost River, Song of Myself, Bless The Child,Romantacide,and EverDream will BLOW you away for sure, cheers.

You two are the first people I've seen react to this video to point out how beautiful the underwater scenes are and how difficult it would be to lip sync with so much emotion while underwater.
It was filmed under water in a studio pool. What they do is they keep an air tank with a breathing mask just out of the shot and when they stop they allow the talent to let the water out of their mouth and catch their breath. It can be a very difficult thing to do especially if you're someone who can't hold their breath for long periods.
I loved this song so much growing up. This is probably weird in today's generation

Just some knowledge for you ladies it's the song is part of a soundtrack for a movie one of the sequels to the Underworld franchise based on Vampires versus Werewolves type of idea type of movie that plays on the CD soundtrack the song and the video is based off the franchise all the people with the vampire looks and werewolf looks in the crowd add a layer to the music video that represents that movie Underworld franchise it was like a promotional type thing

You mentioned that the lyrics aren't easy to hear or understand, here's something I love to do with my favorite songs. BTW I love most of Evanescence's songs. I love to find Lyric videos to my favorites. I really suggest doing that for most if not all of hers because there's so much deep meaning to her songs, that that I've noticed generally have the same spiritual theme. Concerning this song though, I picked up the meaning right away but I think it's because I had escaped a high control cult when I looked up the lyrics to this song it confirmed what I thought was this story's message. I love her voice! My voice ain't bad, and I love to sing along, but it's not nearly as good as Amy Lee's voice.
Regarding the face-pinching, that’s what women used to do to add color to their cheeks when rouge wasn’t available. It was painful, but that’s when they’d say that “beauty is pain”. It was a fast way to make someone blush, but it wasn’t easy.
This song is tied to "Bring Me To Life". The lines " Don't want your hand this time, I'll save myself. Maybe I'll wake up for once" is reflected when he grabs her hand, she falls, then she wakes up
Conspiracy time:
Something unexpected about this song that seems to be a hidden message in plan sight to anyone who regularly trips on psychedelics or guides others on them, lot of clues this song is somehow connected to that. As far as I can tell though no claim to that being what song is about at all and is instead of break up which maybe true but I contest as the main plot of this song.
“Going under” being used that way is a term used in some circles for going ona powerful mind altering trip specific for battling your inner demons…
“I die again”. Could mean an ego death. Ya if you have a powerful enough trip on certain psychedelics you can experience an ego death. your default mode network breaks down entirely and opens up a new worlds for you and often experienced in the trip as a literal death when it happens. While terrifying and sombering for most, its actually a great place to be and grow from.. relive your life seeing things in ways you ever saw before and understanding things you could never grasp before or fight demons that been holding you back, face to face.
“Falling forever” mentions falling a lot in songs, however falling forever is more specific, and specifically how it feels when it happens as you trip.
“I’ve got to breakthrough” yes! Yes you do! This! anyone who trips knows! :D
Imagery of zombies and demons indicate death, inner demons and overwhelming nature of them likely one of her demons.
The shape shifting of faces happens on high doses of psychedelics! Yes very creepy for sure!
Other mentions smaller details that reflect a powerful trip that normal people overlook. Give you one, the underwater scene with lit jellyfish for visuals they decided on ;) .
Weird how well it line up when claims otherwise is all I’m saying :)

She is definitely underwater. You just hold your breath though? It's not hard to keep water from going in lol. The hard part is having to keep coming up for air after shooting short bursts, or else having someone with an air tank with you in the water, just out of shot.
I always thought this took place in Hell. The crowd was all demons and Amy and the Gang were all taken captive

Amy Lee said that was a Ben thing. Ben Moody. He was the co-founder of Evanescence along with Amy. They did sing about Jesus in a very hard rock song on their first album. However, after watching the DVD Anywhere But Home, with all the vulgar language and jokes, I cannot personally say they are or should be called a Christian group. I mainly listen to them in the mid 2000's. I saw them in concert, met Amy Lee and the rest of the band and got a couple of autographs.
