    That is one small integrex. As far as i can tell it's even smaller then a multiplex. The integrexes i used to operate were huge; you could have a party in them!

    minus axis that you move than better the dimensional precision will be, so good video. remember 5 axis are usefull if you have to avoid collision if you can keep the rotary axis off the speed and errors will be reduced.

    Wow. Now that's what the Intregrex is for.
    I say this because they bought one of these at work and use maybe half a percent of the machines abilities.
    After side one of a part is done, the right chuck grabs the material and has to wait.
    The Multiplex makes almost 5 pieces by the time the Integrex has made one.
    Like you guys say, that's a lot of wasted material. Could something like this be done in a mold?

    It's either a statue or a trophy. It's so expensive, though, to machine one of these that it would not be cost effective to market them as machined pieces.

    @grofing Grazie.

    you can do it in mastercam too, the funtion to use is the 4 axis substitution or the advanced 5 axis, spiroidal machining in 5 axis is equal for cimatron gibbscam solidcam camworks hsmworks mastercam edgecam and other. they all use the 5 axis calculation made in germany

    @kuei1248 You can use a 5x toolpath to angle the B and machine this in other ways. This is just a very simple way of programing the part.

    Ciao e buone feste.

    if this was being made out of a casting you would have some serious work holding issues due to the odd shape of the part, not to mention a lot of chatter cuz it's so skinny.i think this is the best compromise.

    Very cool and I hope someone familiar with the industry can answer a question I have... Wouldn't be easier to "rough" the profile in with a band saw much the same way wood workers do? I understand that it is a demonstration but it seems to me that it would be a lot cheaper to remove the excess with a band saw rather than having it all milled away knowing how expensive mills and inserts can be. Just curious if that's what normally happens in production. Thanks in advance if anyone answers :)

  • @mark8driver
    @mark8driver 13 років тому

    @kuei1248 This is not so true. Mastercam does offer many dynamic toolplane features to be used with four and five axis machines. It is obvious that the programmer chose to implement only two toolplanes for this project, not really sure why. I know for a fact that Mastercam will let you set a lead/lag angle on the cutting tool as it revolves a part during 4 axis machining.

    @OrganicDrew That would make much more sense. Makes me think of when my uncle took me through his shop where they make railway switches. Guys stood there all day smacking wooden squares on tables and all that came out of them was a small cast. The rest was like a mud or a sand.
    A shop beside it had this massive lathe that faced off 30 foot rails.
    I watched this video again and wondered" how the hell did they part that off?".

    Io non ho nessuna laurea o master ma lavoro sulle macchine utensili da quando avevo 10 anni.Mi stupisco delle tue affermazioni visto le tue qualifiche.Dire che lavorare un pezzo di 120kg lungo 400 mm su un Integrex e' una cosa sbagliata mi lascia un po' perplesso sopratutto non penso di offendere Mazak sostenendo le sue doti di rigidita'.
    Dimenticavo il pezzo che vedi e' frutto di una creazione artistica e non di un disegno tecnico.

    Why is there no coolant?

    • @comprehendnature2404
      @comprehendnature2404 8 років тому

      +nickoloes : Liquidified gas such as oxygen might be used to cool or they are only machining the part to show the ability of the machine (for view), or the machined part might not need smooth finish.

    • @Cara.314
      @Cara.314 8 років тому

      +nickoloes a lot of tooling these days can handle no coolant just fine, and it's a demo.

    • @bradcolman7331
      @bradcolman7331 7 років тому

      nickoloes a LOT of times it's better to mill dry. coolant can 'cool too quick' causing thermal shock of the cutting tool.

    Отлить было не проще?

    • @nikolaidemchuk1585
      @nikolaidemchuk1585 9 років тому

      Для того что бы отлить деталь нужна форма. А форму будет сложнее чем сама деталь. И при отливке есть ворпос точности и финишной мехобработки. Отливка целесообразна при серийном производстве деталей

    • @user-lm1uq6qr4z
      @user-lm1uq6qr4z 9 років тому

      И что это за деталь, если нужна такая точность? Как бы ты ни старался, на фрезерном станке внешнюю сферу ты не сделаешь идеально.
      Форму сделать в несколько порядков дешевле, чем это оборудование. Дешевле даже оснастка для литья. Я думаю, что это просто для демонстрации возможностей станка.

  • @roketarider

    You can never do that on band saw first you need all that material for rigidity it not it would chatter if you notice the program roughs and then finishes in sections do its s smooth transition.

    wow carino!
